Chapter 708

Anton continued walking deep inside the autumn forest. Since true winter was just a couple of weeks away, the temperature was very low, but he was still wearing ordinary mage robes. Just above his head hovers the globe of browser sharing since Anton recorded his journey in a vlog style. He planned to share the most interesting bits with his family once his journey was over.

It had been several days since he had been home. Anton planned to return to the Rose Manor when the day was over so he could apprise his family of his situation, assuring them that he was safe. He also wanted to make sure that the whole manor would continue to receive his mana rain, although even he was assured by their elven gardener that the gardens, the orchard, and the small grain field would continue their magical yield for a couple of months before the magic that came from the mana rain dried out, reverting the fields to mundane lands.

Anton knew that keeping the manor magical through his spell, which was the Blizzard spell converted into mana rain, was a sort of him tying himself to the land; it was not rigid. Ever since the cinema was established, and now, the plan to expand the business through television, cinema, and a fashion magazine, even if they let the garden, orchards, and grain fields become neglected, the Rose Manor would continue to prosper.

He was also certain that the manor would be able to devise businesses that would continue to support the family's prosperity even without him, his father, or Anna, although Anton knew that the family still required his name and reputation as a Supreme Rank Wizard for their continued success in Ormunda. Ormunda, first and foremost, was a wizard kingdom, meaning that the wizards held supreme and were treated as its first rank citizens. If no one in the family was a wizard, at most, the family would just become a merchant family and a family that was not too protected, meaning anyone could target them.

Anton remembered his theory that Ormunda would become the final stronghold against the undead. He thought that just like the game, the kingdom would become one of the few sanctuaries that would allow wizards to rest while continuing to fight against the undead. Upon seeing the scope of the armies of the three kingdoms of Ormunda, New Drennor, and the remnants of the armies of Mendoza that were gathered in New Drennor and the power it held, he knew that his theory was foolish. When he roamed New Drennor, it dawned on him how gigantic the kingdom was. He knew in his mind that Ormunda was just as huge as New Drennor. That meant that the two kingdoms were fully capable of defending themselves against any enemies.

He now had a new theory that the only reason the Undead Coalition attacked the Gale Continents was to prevent the wizard kingdoms there from assisting the remaining kingdoms in Rendindura in mounting a fight against the coalition.

Anton also wondered if any kingdoms in Rendindura were as big and powerful as Ormunda or New Drennor. He had to admit that he had only seen a few cities in Rendindura, and that was because they were blindly running from the undead. He also wondered how their experiences would be different from what they had experienced if they ran towards the center of the continent instead of towards the port. He now knew that the statement that Rendindura was conquered by the Undead Coalition was severely mistaken. It was simply because he was too ignorant of this world.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

The only defense that Anton had was that he had just transmigrated, so it was forgivable that he had little knowledge of this world.

While walking through the forest, Anton had thought about a lot of things. The most prominent was realizing how ignorant he was. The fact was, because of his age and his lack of knowledge, he should be spending time in one of those magical academies, but he simply did not want to. He would just allow Anna to be the most knowledgeable one in the family. He also still felt sad about what happened with his friends on the ship. That was the main reason why he still had not had any new close friends.

His thoughts were interrupted when he stumbled into a battle between two forest trolls and a group of orcs. Anton knew that just like the elves, the dwarves, and the beast folk, the orcs were a recognized civilized race and not monsters. He saw that the Orcs had the upper hand and did not need any help, so he simply stood by and watched the battle.

After a few minutes, the battle was over. Most of the orcs started harvesting whatever they could from the fallen trolls, while a couple, one who looked like the leader of the orcs and their shaman, walked towards Anton. They stopped when they got near him.

“Well met, mage. Is there something you need from us?” the orc who looked like a mage said.

“My name is Anton, and I’m a wizard on my way to the kingdom of Enundia. I decided to go directly to the kingdom through the forest as a learning experience,” Anton replied.

“Are you not afraid of encountering something that you cannot handle deep inside the forest?” The orc asked.

“I’m a capable magic user, and these two powerful spirit wolves were given to me as my guardians. Besides, I’ve been inside the forest for several days, and the only dangerous things that I’ve encountered were two Owl Bears and some goblins. I also encountered a couple of magical communities and thought that since I’m still near their territory, it was fairly safe.”

“You are correct, young mage. The reason why you’re still safe is because of those communities, but once you are truly deep in the forest, the folks inside would be few and far between. That meant that the danger would increase exponentially. It would not be safe for you,” The shaman said.

“I understand, but I’m still moving forward. I’m on a learning journey. Besides, if I encounter something truly dangerous, I was given a magical way to escape,” Anton replied.

“We’re not going to persuade you anymore since you have already decided. You’re fully grown and entitled to your journey. We’re still in the process of hunting for our families, and we’ll leave you alone,” The orc said.

“Where are you from, if I may ask?” Anton said.

“Our village is near Enundia. We still need to stay here in the forest for a few more weeks, then once we’re done with our mission, we’ll return to our village.”

The orcs said farewell to Anton, then they all left once they had harvested all they could from the forest troll. Anton did not wait for the orcs to finish and started his journey again. His experiences inside the forest were very rich, even though he had only been traveling for just a few days.

Anton knew that the travel to Enundia through the forest, if he was truly serious in traversing it, would take a couple of months, but he knew that once he got tired of traveling, he would probably head directly to the kingdom of Enundia to observe the north kingdom. Anton was basically living like one of those rich, idle noblemen who had nothing important to do but travel around.

Anton knew that he was just unwinding from living a stressful life, trying to foolishly carry the weight of the world on his shoulders, living an unnecessary emo life. He had decided to start his true isekai journey, but of course, he knew that his fight against the Undead Coalition was not over. He knew that someday in the future, he would bring the battle back to Rendindura. In the meantime, it was time for his growth.
