My Favorite Game Followed Me!-Chapter 656
Chapter 656
Anton knew that they had wasted several hours watching movies instead of letting Kirk and the others continue memorizing and casting their spells under the influence of his Meditation Aura and the now mana-saturated suite. Still, these days were supposed to be his vacation. Anton had every intention of enjoying every minute of it.
Once he returned to fighting the undead, probably in a week, he would have very little time to himself and would most likely be focused on just fighting nonstop.
“Are you going to continue watching movies tomorrow? I would have liked my wife and my two little kids to join us,” the fat innkeeper asked.
At first, Anton no longer had any intention of watching another movie, but again, it was his vacation, so he decided to watch a movie every night while he stayed at this inn. Not only that, he would not care about anyone else and would watch films that he had not seen before, regardless of whether the other audience, which probably would just be the four guys and Ishmael and his family, would understand the theme or not.
“We will be watching another film tomorrow night, but I have to warn you. The films came from another dimension, so there might be stories or subjects that would not be easily understood,” Anton said, and the fat innkeeper just nodded.
“We heard some rumors about a magical theater in Ormunda that shows certain plays as if the audience were the actors in the middle of the story. Is this the same kind of magic?” Ishmael, the innkeeper, asked.
“Yes. The name of the business is the Cinema, and our family owns that business. How did you learn about it? With the undead attacking, I would have thought that the news between the kingdoms would be rare,” Anton asked.
On second thought, Anton realized that his question was stupid. There were other routes to Ormunda, and wizards had different ways to communicate, so he just told the innkeeper to just disregard his question.
After that, the innkeeper left. Kirk, Abdul, Omar, and Mesono started talking about the two movies they had recently watched.
“If you’re still not tired, go back to memorizing spells. I know we’ve wasted time watching movies, but I would prefer that you increase your mana as soon as possible because in a week, I’ll be bringing the four of you to my manor. You will continue your magic studies there. Unfortunately, the magic that I’m currently using to hasten the rate of your memorization in the extreme would only work when you are all near me, so the moment you stay at the manor, the rate you increase your mana capacity would decrease significantly.”
Without any more words, Kirk and the others returned to memorizing their spell while Anton went to his room. Once he was alone, he decided to read a web novel since he was not in the mood to enter his Diablo II system, since the only thing he could do was hunt for charms or better gear. He did not continue leveling up a new ladder character, since the ladder season would end in a few days, and there was simply no time left to reach the maximum level of the remaining characters he could level up.
After a few minutes, Anton decided to visit the manor even though it was late. He used a town portal scroll and then returned to the Rose Manor. The moment he was back in his room in the manor, he immediately cast the Blizzard spell that was converted into Mana Rain, and as expected, Raymond and his father arrived.
Raymond brought some pastries and tea, and after serving them, he left Anton to talk to Anders.
“The shield that you gave me is extremely powerful, son!” Anders said excitedly.
“Unfortunately, it’ll be a few months before I can conjure up a new legendary item,” Anton told his father.
“I understand. How’s the war?”
Anton shrugged and told Anders that he was currently on vacation in New Drennor. He told his father that since the defense that the three kingdoms placed on the western front of New Drennor was extremely extensive, it was stable more or less, and his being absent for a week or so would not be noticed.
Anders laughed and shook his head, and asked what he was doing in New Drennor. Anton told his father that he had acquired the services of four young guys who he was now training to become wizards, so that the manor would have several wizards who would defend it. The four guys were his guides in exploring New Drennor.
“That’s a good idea. With those young men being young enough, I’m sure that we will earn their loyalty.”
“I did form a contract with them that in return for my training them, once they reached the archmage rank, they will need to serve the manor for 30 years. Was it a harsh contract, Father?”
“No. Protecting the manor doesn’t mean that they’re stuck here. You did not enslave them. They can still do whatever they want as long as they’re available to protect our family when needed.”
Anton then described to his father all the things that he did with the Kirk and the others for the last two days. Anders looked fascinated by his story, and when he was done, he asked Anders if he wanted to join him on his vacation in the port kingdom.
“I’m still busy leveling up,” Anders simply said, and Anton could understand his father.
Anders was still highly fascinated with his new Paladin skills and was enjoying using the Paladin’s abilities in decimating an untold number of monsters inside the dungeon.
“By the way, your sister wrote that she would be able to return home for a vacation in three months,” Anders said.
“I didn’t realize that the magic academies are that strict. Maybe by then, I would be able to impart a new character class to her, just like I did with you with the Paladin class,” Anton commented.
“Do you think that’s wise?” Anders asked.
“What do you mean, Father?”
“Anna is quite young, and we know that if her teachers wanted to know everything about our family, it would not be very difficult to get information from her. Once you’ve imparted a class to her, for example, the Sorceress class, the wizards of Ormunda would probably learn about it.”
That sentence made Anton pause, and after a few minutes of thinking, he told his father his decision.
“We’ll talk about it once she’s back here, Father. I’ll let her decide. Even though Anna is young, she’s got a good head on her shoulders and would protect the family to the best of her ability.”
After that, Anders told Anton all the things that he did inside the high-level dungeons. Anton’s father was still enamored with the Fist of Heaven skill, and his build still surrounded that spell.
“Once I get tired of it, I will try the other builds,” Anders said.
Anders then asked Anton to show him the different builds from different Diablo II websites, so his intention of staying at the manor for just several minutes actually lasted for around three hours while Anders frantically copied the different builds available for the Paladin character. Anton almost laughed out loud when he saw his father look like a nerd gamer copying the different builds, but of course, he tried his best to make sure that Anders would not notice.
During those three hours, Anton and his father discussed in depth the viability of such builds in real life, fighting actual monsters inside the dungeon.
