My Ex-Wife Disappeared for Years and Had My Babies-Chapter 85 - 77 She is called Madam Shen
Chapter 85 -77 She is called Madam Shen
Su Nian was cursing in her heart, but she didn’t dare to say anything out loud. When under someone’s roof, one must bow their head. Once she finds a new job, she’ll show him what it means to scorn one’s superiors, what it means to disobey one’s superiors’ arrangements!
“Where’s the smile?”
Su Nian was momentarily stunned, her irritated face immediately forced a fake smile: “President Shen, what would you like to eat?”
“Do I need to personally handle something trivial like ordering food?”
Su Nian smiled: “Then I won’t bother you with that, President Shen,” and then turned to the waiter beside her and said, “Bring us some cilantro pork steamed dumplings, red date ginger soup, pork liver rice noodles with some celery stems, and a vegetable salad.”
“Alright.”
...
After the waiter took the menu and left, Su Nian smiled and asked, “President Shen, do you think that’s alright? Eating light in the morning, and I’ve noticed that President Shen often looks quite cold. I heard that this coldness on the face comes from within the body, and also, your complexion looks somewhat pale, so I specifically ordered some food that warms the body and enriches the blood.”
Su Nian smiled understandingly, though his face’s coldness wasn’t a recent thing at all, and his complexion was actually quite normal—it was just paler compared to a tan. Su Nian used to get pretty jealous of him whenever she had acne since a man’s skin was even better than a woman’s.
But she didn’t order all this food for him to warm up and enrich his blood; she did it because she knew he disliked dumplings, never touched pork liver or celery or ginger, and the carrots and tomatoes in the vegetable salad were totally not his cup of tea.
Watching Su Nian across the table, playing her little trick so smugly, Shen Hanxiu calmly took a sip of tea and said, “As long as you’re happy with it.”
His unhurried and unperturbed demeanor ended up making Su Nian feel a bit disappointed. She thought she would have a chance to set him straight, but then she saw him casually picking up the food he disliked with his chopsticks, putting it into his mouth without even a frown!
Looking for a thrill turned out to be hard work!
After finishing their meal, they headed to the beach, where Shen Hanxiu found a beach chair to lie down on.
Su Nian, feeling full, didn’t feel like moving either and simply sat down with him.
The midday sun shone down and the sea breeze was warm. Su Nian tilted her head to look at Shen Hanxiu, who had his hands behind his head and eyes closed, and decided to lie down on the chair just like him.
She had just gotten up not long ago and obviously wasn’t sleepy. She took off her hat to look around and realized that even so, there were girls taking photos in their direction.
Of course, they weren’t trying to photograph Su Nian.
She used her hat to cover up a bit and saw his sunglasses on the table. She reached for them, put them on herself, and openly started observing the people around.
She saw a group of girls not far away chatting about something, glancing over at them from time to time. Soon, they walked towards Su Nian.
Noticing that they had confidently positioned themselves beside her chair, Su Nian sat up straight and heard one of the girls ask, “Miss, do you know the gentleman next to you?”
Su Nian turned her head to look at the resting Shen Hanxiu and shook her head without thinking.
The girls seemed much more cheerful and said to Su Nian, “Then would you mind moving to sit over there? We’ve made space for you.”
Su Nian looked at the seat about six or seven meters away, smiled awkwardly, nodded, then put her hat back on and walked towards the spot they had pointed at.
A few of the girls jubilantly commented, “She’s so beautiful. I thought she was that male god’s girlfriend.”
Of course, Shen Hanxiu wasn’t asleep. Although Su Nian didn’t say anything throughout the process, he was clearly aware that the foolish woman had just abandoned him like that!
“Handsome… sorry to disturb you…”
Shen Hanxiu’s brows furrowed slightly, yet he didn’t open his eyes to speak.
The girl thought he was asleep and poked his shoulder with her finger, “Handsome? We just wish to make friends with you, nothing else…”
Before the girl finished speaking, she saw a hand with distinct, slender knuckles raised in front of them, but what drew their attention even more was the ring on the ring finger.
“Girls… he’s married!”
Su Nian was watching the situation from the sidelines, curious to see how Shen Han, this millennium-old block of ice, would deal with these young girls. Instead, she witnessed him flaunting his ring.
Even from a distance, Su Nian could see it clearly. The ring on his left ring finger was their wedding ring from back then. She had returned her own ring to him when they divorced, and didn’t expect he still had it…
She wondered when he had taken it out since she hadn’t seen anything on his hands during the meal.
He still kept the proof of their marriage which no longer existed and couldn’t be started over…
“Hi, lady!”
Lost in thought, Su Nian was brought back to reality by a pure English male voice. Although her English was not good, she could still understand the “Hi.”
She turned her head to see a hand extended politely in front of her. The owner of the hand had deep European features, unlike the rugged bearded men from American blockbusters, but rather a young and handsome man.
He had the characteristically fair skin of a Westerner, slightly blue eyes that were deep and spirited, just like the male models she had seen in fashion magazines.
Even though she dealt with Shen Han, a man of exquisite beauty, on a daily basis, Su Nian was still stunned by the handsome man, and awkwardly shook hands with him, responding to his friendly smile.
She wanted to say a few words to him, but her mind was blank, unable to even remember the simplest greetings she had learned.
As she pulled her hand back, she wasn’t sure if it was an illusion, but it felt like his fingertips had traced a circle in her palm, making Su Nian’s face turn red instantly.
Stammering, she managed to say, “Can I help you?”
The man smiled and gave her a thumbs-up, “Your English is not bad.”
He speaks Chinese?
And speaking so fluently, Su Nian felt embarrassed just thinking about her poor English.
But she was so caught up in her embarrassment that she didn’t notice someone’s gaze burning into the back of her head.
“Are you alone? May I sit here?”
Su Nian awkwardly nodded: “Yes… no one’s sitting there.”
“Beautiful lady, may I boldly ask for your name?”
“She is called Madam Shen.”

Before Su Nian could reply, the sweet male voice carried over with the sea breeze, and turning her head she saw a swathe of white.
The American man looked at Shen Hanxiu, his face now showing a bit of embarrassment and puzzlement: “Madam Shen?” He then praised looking at Su Nian, “That’s a very pretty name, Chinese names are quite distinctive.”
Su Nian forced a smile, which one of his neurons thought this name was nice to hear?
By the time Shen Hanxiu spoke, he had already walked up to Su Nian, grabbing one of her arms and pulling her up from the chair, “Madam, go get me a drink.”
Su Nian glared at him but didn’t want to linger and tussle with this foreigner, so she turned and walked away.
Shen Hanxiu gave him a glance and asked in perfect English, “What’s your name?”
The man replied in Chinese, “My Chinese name is Li Zhixiang.”
Shen Hanxiu seemed uninterested in his name, “Oh, do you know what Madam means?”
Without waiting for him to react, Shen Hanxiu continued, “Wife.”
The man was taken aback, smiled awkwardly, and glanced at the distant silhouette buying drinks.
He’d been rare to find such an appealing girl, but it turned out she was married, and her husband was so outstanding, at least in terms of looks, that he felt inferior.
His attempt at flirting had been shot down; after a few polite words, he hurried away.
Su Nian didn’t know what Shen Hanxiu had said to the man, but it was good that he was gone.
“Lemonade.” Knowing he didn’t like sour things, Su Nian specifically bought that!
Shen Hanxiu reached out to take it, didn’t even taste it, and placed it straight on the table beside him, then he asked her, “So eager to get away from me, looking for spring elsewhere?”
Su Nian didn’t think much of it, sitting across him enjoying her ice cream.
“Accountant Su, you’re here with me for work, not for matchmaking.”
Su Nian pretended not to hear, talking to herself in praise, “Mmm, the ice cream here is delicious.”
Shen Hanxiu sat up, reached out with his hand and took the ice cream from her, plunging it directly into the lemonade, then lay back down in the chair.
“Shen Hanxiu, are you sick?!” Lemonade mixed with melted cream overflowed from the cup, a mess in two words.
“The one who’s sick is you, dysmenorrhea is also an illness.”
“My illness is none of your business! If President Shen doesn’t have any business and is just here to have fun for the next few days, then I’ll go back first. I’m not serving you any longer!”
“Stop right there.” Shen Hanxiu casually grabbed and caught hold of the hem of her skirt.
Su Nian had been determined to shake him off, but then her skirt suddenly slid down, exposing half her shoulder, and she hurriedly stopped and turned back to pull it up: “Shen Hanxiu!”
Even an ungentlemanly man wouldn’t tear a woman’s skirt!
Shen Hanxiu let go of the fabric in his hand, stood up, and faced her huffing, he merely walked ahead and spoke indifferently, “Let’s go.”
Su Nian followed him like an aggrieved daughter-in-law, took a sea cruise, and feasted her eyes.
But the whole journey was frustrating; she was like a maid, serving Shen Hanxiu all the way.
He wore casual leather shoes with laces today. Even when a shoelace came loose, he wouldn’t stoop to tie it, only kicking her foot, “Su Nian, tie it.”
Su Nian really wanted to throw him into the sea, to be gnawed to bits by sharks!
Reluctantly, she still knelt down and tied it for him.
When they got married, if she was still awake when he came home from work at night, she would thoughtfully go to the door and help him change his shoes. Although this wasn’t the first time, it felt completely different.
Back then, it felt warm and happy; now, it just felt utterly demeaning.
Angry, she tied a tight knot, and just as she was about to stand up, he said, “It’s a bit tight, tie it again.”
Su Nian felt there was no light on her path ahead, days like this, five more to go…
The scenery of Hai City was pleasant, but Su Nian couldn’t enjoy it at all; she returned to the hotel dispirited.
Tired from the day’s activities, she went to bed early. Past midnight, she was awakened by the phone ringing; it was Wei Lan. What was so urgent at this hour?
Su Nian’s first reaction was, could it be that something happened to the child?
