Chapter 82: Chapter 75: Does Accountant Su Want to Share a Bed with Me?_2

Su Nian’s face reddened with irritation, annoyed to the point of itching teeth. Every time it was clearly him taking advantage of his position for personal gain, yet in the end, he still acted as if she were the one being overly sentimental!

Flinging off his hand, she dragged over the suitcase that was by the door. Opening the wardrobe, she declared, “This side is mine, that side is yours.”

“Good, help me sort it out as well.”

Cursing him a million times in her heart, Su Nian, after organizing her own clothes, still resignedly dragged his suitcase over, but her tidying was nowhere as meticulous as with her own.

Yanking his clothes out of his suitcase, she didn’t bother to hang them up or fold them neatly, simply shoving them into the wardrobe.

Only then did Shen Hanxiu, who was sitting on the armchair, speak up: “Su Nian.”

...

Knowing he would surely get angry, but this was the reaction she intended to provoke, Su Nian’s face broke into a harmless smile after packing away the items. She turned around and chirped, “Did you call me, President Shen?”

With no sign of anger on his face, Shen Hanxiu stood and walked toward her, pulled open the wardrobe, casually pulled out a piece of clothing, and held it up for examination before tossing it into Su Nian’s hands. He instructed calmly, “This one is wrinkled; iron it out.” As he spoke, he pulled out a few more items: “This too, and this one’s creased as well… Too lazy to pick through them, just iron them all.”

His words were nonchalant, but Su Nian, holding the pile of clothes, had her smile vanish into thin air. She looked at Shen Hanxiu with a furious face, really wanting to pounce on him and have a fight!

Only then did she realize the meaning of bringing misfortune upon oneself.

So, Su Nian spent the entire afternoon ironing clothes in the corner, while Shen Hanxiu leisurely watched TV.

Su Nian had a face full of grievances but dared not say anything or mess around further, and with pent-up anger, she quickly ironed his clothes, then neatly hung them in the wardrobe.

She, a woman, didn’t even carry as many clothes as him when traveling!

“Finished organizing?”

With her head turned away, Su Nian paid him no attention.

He just held up the half-drunk glass of water and approached her, thrusting it abruptly to Su Nian’s lips, “Tired? Have some water.”

After sipping a little, Su Nian immediately pushed him away, only yelling at him out of irritation, “Shen Hanxiu!”

“Don’t want to drink?” Setting down the glass, he wiped the water spilled onto his hand with a paper towel, all the while glancing at the dark blue sky outside, “It’s getting late, what should we eat?”

Su Nian turned her head away from him, but not knowing where to go in a room with no escape, she eventually secluded herself in the bathroom.

It was then she heard him order dinner through the internal line. Squatting in the restroom, Su Nian also heard the sounds of her own stomach growling.

Angry as she was, she couldn’t let her stomach suffer, so at mealtime, Su Nian still sat down to eat.

She had once thought that the time spent alone with him was a delight, with his return from work not busy, watching TV with her, cuddled up in his arms, occasionally whispering sweet nothings…

But now, being alone in the same room felt like an ordeal, with him sitting beside the desk, focusing on his computer for work.

She sat on the sofa, watching TV.

Not sure how much time had passed, her eyelids heavy, Su Nian simply lay down on the sofa to watch.

The TV volume was low, and beside the window, she could hear the sound of his fingers tapping on the keyboard.

The stifling atmosphere gradually became harmonious without her noticing.

Outside the window, the sea breeze blew, and it was a bit cool at night. Shen Hanxiu glanced at the clock in the bottom right corner of his computer, and it was already eleven o’clock without him realizing.

Turning to look at the woman beside him, she lay sideways on the sofa, with the TV still on, unsure whether she had fallen asleep.

Closing his laptop, he walked over. Under the flicker of the TV light, he saw the woman on the sofa curl up into a ball, the remote control having fallen to the floor, clearly asleep.

The nights were still somewhat cool in summer; how could he bear to let her sleep on the sofa?

His original plan was to see if they could sleep together, but who knew she would think of getting another room? That’s why he suggested she sleep on the sofa.

Picking up the remote to turn off the TV, he turned on a dim wall lamp, “Su Nian.”

Su Nian slowly opened her eyes, frowning in confusion at him.

“Go take a bath.” A day’s work, a bath would be relaxing.

Upon seeing the man in front of her, Su Nian sat up immediately, rubbed her eyes, took the bathrobe he handed her, and went into the bathroom.

She showered quickly and, tired from a full day, too weary to wash her hair, fell back on the sofa after bathing, lying on her side, her back turned toward Shen Hanxiu.

Shen Hanxiu glanced sideways at her and walked over, closed the window, adjusted the air conditioning temperature, and then threw his coat over her.

She curled into a ball, and his coat covered her whole body, only revealing a few strands of black hair and her pale little feet.

Su Nian didn’t turn to look at anything as she opened her eyes. Her breath carried the fresh scent from his coat, and without a word, she closed her eyes again.

Seeing she had not thrown his coat aside and then tucked her exposed feet back in, his lips curved in the dim light as he softly said to her, “Would you like to sleep in the bed?”

She lay still without responding.

Shen Hanxiu turned and took the bathrobe into the bathroom.

After his shower, he came to the side of the sofa, where he could hear her steady breathing.

She didn’t have the habit of being particular about where she slept, able to fall asleep anywhere when tired, and she slept deeply.

He gently lifted the edge of the coat, arranged the stray hair on her face, and gazing at her charmingly innocent sleeping face, his typically cold expression softened.

Bending down, he gently lifted her and moved her to the large bed in the middle of the room.

He covered her with the blanket, turned off the bedside lamp, and watched her face in the darkness. He leaned down to gently kiss her forehead before lying on one side himself.

He wanted to hold her as they slept, but feared that after tonight, it might drive her even further away; just her lying beside him after four years was enough.

He resisted holding her, yet in the night, she instinctively wrapped herself around him; her little cool feet rubbed against his calf, prompting him to cover her properly again as he saw most of her blanket had been kicked away.

In the end, he lay with his back to her, basking in the sensation of her small arms encircling his waist, feeling her gentle and steady breathing on his back.

They spent the night in peace, until the next morning when a certain woman opened her eyes…
