Chapter 508: Chapter 487: Do Not Look at Improprieties

"It’s good," Zhou Li answered, his voice hoarse.

"Are you nervous?" Brother Nan asked with a mischievous grin, her tone full of teasing.

"A little..."

"Heh..." Brother Nan first yawned, smacked her lips a couple of times, and stretched her hand out of the covers to rub her eyes. After withdrawing it back under the blankets, she continued to snuggle up to Zhou Li and ask, still in a teasing tone, "Is the size right?"

"..." Zhou Li fell silent for a moment, too embarrassed to answer, so he changed the subject. "You’re so calm."

"After all, I’m the older brother."

"You’re a female hooligan."

"Is that so?" Brother Nan’s eyes darted around as she suddenly stretched both arms out from under the covers, as if to declare her innocence. "Now who’s being a hooligan?"

"Don’t catch a cold."

"Don’t change the subject!"

"..."

Zhou Li remained silent, still holding her tight.

In the darkness, Brother Nan grinned and voluntarily changed the subject. She held out her hand as if it were a microphone, bringing it to his mouth. "Xiao Zhou, I’m interviewing you. How do you feel right now?"

"How do you feel?"

"Lame! Can you only ask questions back?"

"Let me think..." Zhou Li hesitated. He was truly too embarrassed to say it out loud, so he said, "Let’s hear your answer first."

"I feel like someone is touching me," Brother Nan said.

"Is that all?"

"Yup!"

"Then I..." Zhou Li pondered again. "I feel like I’m touching someone."

"Is that all?" Brother Nan mimicked him.

"No." Zhou Li answered honestly, then rephrased, "My heart is beating really fast, my hands are hot and shaking, and I feel like my mind is getting a bit fuzzy, like I could easily do something impulsive."

"Is it that magical?" Brother Nan asked in surprise.

"You seem surprised."

"Yeah!"

"You don’t?"

"Not at all."

"..."

"Aren’t you sleepy yet?" Brother Nan glanced at her watch. "It’s already one o’clock. Don’t you usually go to bed early?"

"A little."

"Then let’s sleep." Brother Nan removed his hand from her body. "There’s an exam tomorrow morning, and we still need to take the Tai Chi test in the afternoon."

"Mm-hmm..."

Actually, Zhou Li didn’t feel sleepy at all right then. Quite the contrary, he was wide awake and excited. If I try to sleep now, I have no idea how long it’ll take to actually fall asleep. It’ll probably take ages for this excitement to wear off.

Just then, a CLICK came from the door.

Zhou Li shot upright, lightning-fast, looking toward the door.

The door slowly opened.

A small figure pattered in, taking tiny steps, and entered naturally while whispering softly, "Zhou Ni~~ Lord Dumpling doesn’t want to sleep next to Huai Xu anymore. Lord Dumpling still wants to sleep next to you and Brother Lan!"

"But... didn’t we agree?" Zhou Li watched helplessly as the small figure drew closer, already reaching the window.

"Lord Dumpling has changed her mind!" Tuanzi crouched and leaped onto the bed with ease.

"Alright then," Zhou Li agreed. "Lord Dumpling can sleep next to me, still by the pillow. But it’s too late, so I won’t tell Lord Dumpling a story."

"Okay!"

Tuanzi stepped on his foot, climbed up his leg, and walked all the way over his body. "Lord Dumpling wants to sleep in the middle!"

"How about the edge?"

"Lord Dumpling wants to sleep in the midd—" Tuanzi suddenly stopped and, looking down, said, "Zhou Li, what did you put on the bed?"

"Then sleep in the middle!"

"Okay!"

Tuanzi immediately forgot about the strange thing she had just stepped on and quickened her pace toward Zhou Li’s head. Even though she was stepping over him with the covers in between, her small feet tickled Zhou Li all over.

Then, she found a comfortable position between Zhou Li and Brother Nan, lay down, wriggled a couple of times, and then declared she was going to sleep.

Zhou Li murmured an affirmative, stroked her back, exchanged a glance with Brother Nan, and closed his own eyes as well.

Tuanzi’s tail kept moving until she fell asleep, swishing back and forth, brushing past Zhou Li’s face as he breathed. The thought of such a little creature lying so trustingly by my side is really comforting. This made Zhou Li feel very secure. The excitement he had felt earlier calmed quickly. He initially lay with his eyes open, watching Brother Nan, before he unknowingly drifted off to sleep.

「Friday morning.」

The bed was much warmer with two people under the covers. Zhou Li was still holding Brother Nan; her warm, soft touch felt extremely comfortable. Meanwhile, Tuanzi had, at some point, run off to the foot of the bed and was now by his feet.

He quietly withdrew his hand and glanced at the time.

Almost at the same time, Brother Nan opened her eyes; they were clear and bright. She asked briefly, "Awake?"

"You’ve been awake for a while?"

"Woke up a while ago. Just let you hold me a bit longer," Brother Nan said in a relaxed tone. She grabbed his other hand, tossed it aside, and, lifting the covers, started to put on her clothes, which were by the pillow. As she did, she said, "No peeking."

"Okay."

"You should get up quickly too. There’s an exam this morning, and we need to prepare early."

"You woke up so early."

"Not used to someone holding me while I sleep." Brother Nan scratched her head and urged again, "Get up quickly."

"Oh..."

Zhou Li also picked up his clothes but couldn’t help secretly watching Brother Nan get dressed. I feel a strange emotion inside... Is this the joy of sharing the morning sunlight with someone I like?

Hmm...

Zhou Li’s face turned a bit red again.

Because girls don’t usually wear bras to bed, Brother Nan had only worn a T-shirt last night. Now, to put on her underwear, she had to take off the T-shirt. Had it been any other girl, she probably would have shyly grabbed her clothes and dashed into the bathroom. But Brother Nan, being so bold, just turned her back to Zhou Li and got on with it.

Her smooth back was an unblemished white, with her hair draped over it. Gradually, black shoulder straps and a back strap appeared.

Then she pulled the T-shirt back on and pulled her hair out from under it.

Zhou Li watched, mesmerized.

The second Brother Nan turned around after dressing, he quickly averted his gaze to the pattern on the curtains.

"Why haven’t you gotten dressed?" Brother Nan asked, puzzled. "What are you looking at?"

"Are you done?" Zhou Li asked, his expression unchanging.

"Done. You can turn around now." Brother Nan scratched her hair again, which was a bit fluffy and messy. "Don’t dawdle. Hurry up."

"Got it..."

Actually, Zhou Li felt a little resistant to getting out of bed. Getting up meant going out, and going out meant seeing the Old Monster. Every time Zhou Li encountered the Old Monster, he would instinctively feel embarrassed. He certainly didn’t have Brother Nan’s thick skin.

SMACK!

"Ow!"

Zhou Li quickly dressed.

「An hour later.」

Zhou Li returned to his dorm room.

The three in the dorm had gotten up very early, since there was an exam today. They had started their preparations early—making cheat sheets, finding someone smart to rely on, last-minute cramming, and so on.

The moment Zhou Li entered the dorm room, the three turned their heads in unison, staring unblinkingly at him.

"Heh heh..."

"Did our dorm leader have a good night last night?"

"Mianmian mentioned that our Brother Nan wasn’t in the dorm last night either."

"I don’t understand what you’re talking about." Zhou Li looked at the three of them. He was initially a little uncomfortable, but recalling Brother Nan’s attitude towards Cotton Swab the night before, he quickly adjusted his mindset. Calming down, he said honestly, "It was a bit late after the movie last night, and it wouldn’t have been good for her to go back then, so I took Brother Nan to my rented place for the night."

"Ooooh!!!"

"You guys, your minds are too dirty..." Zhou Li shook his head. "I’m sharing the place with someone else; how could that be possible!"

"It still could!" Chang Xiaoxiang said.

"You just have to be quiet," Chen Yang chimed in.

"Nonsense!" Zhou Li, imagining the tone Brother Nan would use in such a situation, imitated it confidently, "If it happened, it happened; if it didn’t, it didn’t. I don’t need to be coy about it."

"Hmm..."

Seeing the three still looking skeptical, Zhou Li said nothing more. Brother Nan’s way of handling things really works. Otherwise, he would have been badgered by these three for ages, until he was red in the face.
