My Core is the Boss-Chapter 89.1: A Flick to White Moonlight’s Forehead
In the Celestial Dragon Realm...
Po Lang gazed coldly at the five cultivators, a trace of disdain flashing across his eyes. “You joined hands, yet this is the best you can do?”
Moments earlier, he had encountered disciples of the Divine Radiance Sect, the Xuanfu San Sect, and several others. They’d joined forces and attacked him together. Even Core Formation experts would be wary when facing five late-stage Foundation Establishment cultivators.
Yet, Po Lang had easily driven them off with his Radiant Sword.
Blood trickled from the corner of Kang Fulu’s mouth, his eyes filled with fear. "As expected of someone from Bright Palace!"
Lei Wen and Miao Li were gravely wounded too.
Even though the Xuanfu San Sect’s swordsmen were famous for their assault, their strikes seemed utterly powerless compared to Po Lang's Radiant Sword.
Po Lang sneered. As he wielded his long sword, he glowed brilliantly, as though wrapped in sunlight. "White-haired brat, weren’t you the one shouting in the great hall telling me to remember you? Where is that junior brother of yours? Is he hiding somewhere? Don't tell me, he only dares to provoke me in the main hall, but once we enter the Celestial Dragon Realm, he digs a hole and buries himself like a quail?" 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Miao Li gritted her teeth, glaring Po Lang icily in silence.
Po Lang sneered. "Ha! What a coward. Since he dares not appear, I’ll kill the rest of you first!"
Kang Fulu raised his whisk, saying sharply, "I am the son-in-law of the Divine Radiance Sect master, and the personal disciple of the Five-Light Peak master. Do you really think you can kill me?"
His white hair slowly began to darken, strand by strand.
Suddenly, Po Lang’s eyes narrowed, turning serious. "Hmph. Seems you guys are lucky today."
With that, he became a streak of light and vanished.
Miao Li was puzzled. "What? Why did he leave so suddenly?"
Lei Wen glanced at Kang Fulu, full of terror.
From afar, several clusters of white light flew rapidly toward them. Within moments, dozens of Divine Radiance Sect cultivators descended. At their head stood a middle-aged man with a greenish face, Li Xiao.
Kang Fulu turned, startled. "Martial Uncle Li Xiao, Martial Uncle Pang Long, why are you here?”
Seeing Kang Fulu, he breathed a sigh of relief. "So you've survived. Good."
Kang Fulu quickly asked, "Martial Uncle, how did you enter the Celestial Dragon Realm? Did something happen outside?"
For them to appear here so suddenly could only mean something serious had occurred.
Li Xiao recounted everything that had happened outside, and the cultivators’ faces grew increasingly grim.
Kang Fulu's face changed as realization dawned. "The old king feigned death and even colluded with the Red Sword Sect? Then the one who killed the Fifth Prince and the others wasn't the Second Prince, but the old king himself!"
Kang Fulu quickly led Li Xiao and the others to the corpses killed by the Dragon-Repenting Hand. At a single glance, Li Xiao’s face darkened like still water.
Beside him, the usually taciturn Pang Long murmured, "I sense the aura of a Nascent Soul."
Kang Fulu's expression turned grim. "What? That old king has already reached Nascent Soul realm?"
A Nascent Soul cultivator lurking within the Celestial Dragon Realm, how terrifying must that be?
Li Xiao said decisively, "It's fortunate you are still alive. We must leave this realm at once."
But Pang Long interjected, "Where is Qi Yuan?"
The crowd fell silent, Qi Yuan was nowhere among them.
Kang Fulu answered in a heavy tone, "Junior Brother Qi must have gone after the old king’s allies. It's my fault, I underestimated the dangers of this realm."
When Qi Yuan had mentioned the Soul Thought Flower, Kang Fulu already knew it was a rare treasure. He had guessed Qi Yuan would want to seize it from the Second Prince’s accomplices. Knowing his junior's desire for the rare treasure, as the senior, he had refrained from arguing and didn't stop Qi Yuan from leaving alone.
Li Xiao grew anxious. "What? He’s gone after the king’s allies?"
Kang Fulu answered firmly, "Martial Uncle, please lead the others out of the realm. As the sect master's son-in-law and peak master's personal disciple, I must bring my junior brother back!"
Li Xiao stood and thought for a moment, then muttered, "Pang Long, escort the others out. I'll accompany Kang Fulu to find Qi Yuan."

In the Land of the Sunken Coffin...
A terrifying aura radiated from the purple-robed elder. Before him stood a crystal coffin, shrouded in flowing streams of liquefied spiritual energy. The misty aura coiled around it like living vines, countless tendrils binding it tight.
The invisible force tugged at the coffin, as if trying to wrench it free, but the force soon vanished, as if deflated.
Suddenly, the elder spat a mouthful of blood, his eyes wide as he turned around, roaring, "Who dares interfere?!"
After trying for days without success, he realized that the so-called method given by the great cultivator was utterly useless.
Regardless, he still persisted. However, when the energy from the stronghold suddenly vanished, his hope was dashed. Enraged and with nowhere to vent his anger, he blamed it on his failure to pull the crystal coffin free.
Furious, he finally turned to leave.

Meanwhile, outside the stronghold...
Qi Yuan looked up, smiling with his eyes. "Sending me a Nascent Soul to test my strength? The big guy still loves me!"
Of course, Qi Yuan knew that "love" was too generous a word. If he could, that strange creature would definitely kick Qi Yuan out of the hut.
Standing on the grass, Qi Yuan held his vegetable knife, his sleeves fluttering in the wind.
Above the sky, the purple-robed elder descended rapidly, halting a mere 500 meters away. A look of disbelief crossed his face. "It’s you, Qi Yuan?!"
The strong stench of blood filled the air. In other words, all three hundred Death Warriors had been slain. Impossible. He couldn't understand it!
Why was Qi Yuan here? Even if he is Ruan Yixi's son, this shouldn't be possible. Unless... Ruan Yixi’s cultivation realm was...
Terror gripped him briefly, but he quickly remembered no one above a hundred years could enter the Celestial Dragon Realm [1]. His confidence returned. Above all, he was now a Nascent Soul cultivator.
Regaining his composure, the purple-robed elder scrutinised Qi Yuan and demanded, "You killed them all?"
Qi Yuan replied softly, "They're all beneath my feet."
The elder hesitated, but reminded himself of his nearing end and power. His worry faded. "You're not afraid of me? Then tell me, how did you kill them?"
Qi Yuan answered confidently, "Because I have achieved the Heavenly Dao class."
The elder’s face froze in despair. "What? Heavenly Dao class?"
After the deaths of all his Death Warriors, he had no choice but to believe.
He didn't know how powerful Heavenly Dao class was, but he knew that even those on the Eastern Lands’ Prodigy Ranking could slay Core Formation cultivators while at Foundation Establishment realm.
Hence, no wonder a Heavenly Dao class Foundation cultivator could effortlessly kill a Core Formation cultivator.
The purple-robed elder seemed relieved from the burden and muttered, "Heavenly Dao class... so all my schemes were for naught."
For one to achieve Heavenly Dao class, it could only mean either Ruan Yixi or whoever backed Qi Yuan was at Yin Spirit realm. A terrifying being capable of grasping the Heavenly Vein's Breath. Of course all his schemes had crumbled.
Yet, anger soon replaced his despair. "To have a Heavenly Dao class cultivator buried with my Great Shang, that's not too bad at all!"
Qi Yuan’s gaze remained calm. "You're overthinking. First, I won't be dying with you. Second, Great Shang won't fall, so there is no need to bury anyone with it. The only one dying here is you. Or do you think you can represent the Great Shang ? You've been a king for too long, the feudal mindset has gotten into your head." [2]
The stubborn old king could think no further. His vast Nascent Soul power erupted at once.
"Great Shang is mine!!"
With a thunderous roar, a mana more than ten times that of a Core Formation cultivator surged toward Qi Yuan.
The purple-robed elder unleashed his mightiest divine technique. “Dragon-Repenting Hand!"
1. Pretty sure our old king here is over a hundred years old too so what gives him the confidence that Ruan Yixi wouldnt be here? ☜
2. The idea of dying alongside the king is an ancient cultural where servants, concubines, guards, or officials are killed and buried with the deceased ruler to serve them in the afterlife. It is based off early chinese concepts of loyalty and the afterlife ☜
