Chapter 117.1: One Sword is Not Enough, Ten Swords Are Not Enough. How About A Hundred?

The many Supremes of the Violet Heaven Alliance surged toward the Ends of the Earth.

"Slay the Great Demon!"

"Let the world see light again!"

"With the fall of the Great Demon, inner demons will vanish, and we shall rise as heroes for all eternity!"

Shang Yanran, Bai Ze, and the Foolish Daoist also arrived there, standing beside Qi Yuan. Gazing at the colossal warship in the distance, their eyes burned with fighting spirit, though worry smoldered beneath it.

One hundred twenty-three Supremes stood on that warship, exuding boundless killing intent. About ninety were from the Violet Heaven Alliance, while the rest came from various other major powers. The warship halted five li from the Ends of the Earth, suspended in the air.

The Blood Palace cultivators gathered at the cliff's edge felt an overwhelming pressure. They all shared a dreadful premonition: if those Supremes attacked together, they wouldn’t stand a chance. Yet when they saw the calm figure in the blood-red robe standing before them, their panic eased a little.

Then, Violet Heaven Maiden said in a soft, ethereal voice that spread through the heavens, "Hand over the Great Demon, and the people of the Blood Palace shall live."

The people of the Ends of the Earth remained expressionless.

Shang Yanran sneered and shouted back, "Hand over the Violet Heaven Maiden, and we shall let you live!"

Fury erupted on the warship. Meanwhile, the maiden remained calm. Instead, her icy, sharp gaze locked onto Qi Yuan.

She said coldly, "Your former self was once a merciful Buddha. Yet for the sake of a demoness, you turn to the dark side. You even gave birth to endless inner demons, laying billions to waste. Your sins deserve death. Great Demon, end your own life, and I shall not trouble the Blood Palace."

Qi Yuan laughed. "If you covet the Demon Binding Art, just say so. Why waste time framing me with all sorts of nonsense? What a shrimp-brained woman you are."

One man roared from the warship, "Presumptuous! The Slate of Fate itself recorded your sins! You are the Great Demon! Stop twisting the truth and surrender!"

"Normally, I can't be bothered with arguing during a fight. But today..." Qi Yuan remained calm, before breaking into a grin. "When I destroyed the Violet Heaven Alliance headquarters, your boy toy told me a shocking secret!"

The words instantly gripped everyone's attention. Curiosity pierced the tension like lightning.

"He told me," Qi Yuan continued loudly, "that the Violet Heaven Maiden is his mother!"

His voice echoed across twenty li. The listeners froze and then laughter erupted among the Blood Palace ranks. On the warship, many faces turned furious, while others glanced at the maiden with strange looks.

Her expression turned pitch-dark, killing intent dripping from her eyes like blood.

Qi Yuan smirked. "Who can't write a little story? You slander me, I can slander you! But honestly, I'm too lazy to prove whether I'm the Great Demon or not. You call me a demon, a scourge upon the world? Then fine. Today, I'll become that scourge. Let's see how much of your world survives! My sword doesn't discriminate!"

To him, explanations were useless, and dying to prove innocence was even more pathetic. The best argument was always the same: kill.

The ocean behind him began to boil. For dozens of miles, the sea turned crimson, surging and condensing into a colossal sword.

Qi Yuan raised his left hand, and a scarlet long sword appeared within it. His aura erupted like a tidal wave, dreadful and divine. In that moment, he truly seemed like a Great Demon, instilling terror in whoever had laid eyes on him. Only Canary gazed at him with admiration, her eyes sparkling. That was her childhood companion!

Still, she whispered nervously, "Blood Drop... I-I'll go stand with Sister Yanran..."

After all, if he was about to unleash such power, staying by his side would only burden him.

Qi Yuan smiled faintly. "Why leave? If I hand you to someone else, I'd worry. Stay with me so I can keep you safe."

He glanced briefly at Shang Yanran, then turned back toward the warship.

The Violet Heaven Maiden's expression hardened. "You are indeed worthy of being called Great Demon, your demonic might shake the heavens. Still, to stand against the world itself, you are seeking death!"

With the Slate of Fate, she had nothing to fear. The slate's power was beyond imagination, even the Buddha himself had not discovered its true secret.

Qi Yuan sneered. "The ones seeking death are you guys!"

He lifted his sword high. Heaven-Cleaving Sword!

He didn’t budge, while the blood-red sword shot upward into the sky, growing ever larger, until it spanned a full li.

Then, with a thunderous shout, the sword descended.

Even the Blood Palace disciples gasped in awe. Shang Yanran's face blanched. She'd thought her master's power wasn't far from hers, but that strike alone could eradicate everyone.

On the warship, the Supremes turned pale with fear. Only the Violet Heaven Maiden remained calm.

The Slate of Fate, hidden within her, began to glow. Her confidence swelled to the heavens.

"In this world, I am invincible!" she declared.

She raised her hand, and an enormous, spectral palm materialized, grasping the falling crimson sword.

Crack!

With sheer force, the blade began to dissolve.

She smiled coldly. "Justice will always vanquish darkness. Your strongest blow has failed. What else can you do?"

Shang Yanran's eyes narrowed, preparing an escape plan if things turned dire. Even the Blood Palace elites trembled at her monstrous power.

Qi Yuan frowned slightly as he gave her an odd look. No one had ever blocked his Heaven-Cleaving Sword so easily, not even foes several realms higher.

His eyes flickered at Violet Heaven Maiden.

[This is an ordinary cultivator in a special state.]

"Special state?" he muttered. Unfortunately, his eyes couldn't identify what that meant, not that it mattered. "Impressive, but that's all."

He unleashed Heaven-Cleaving Sword ten more times. The sea behind him turned scarlet once more. Ten massive swords, each a mile long, rose into the sky.

The Violet Heaven Maiden's expression changed at last, but she still shouted coldly, "You've exceeded my expectations, but this ends here!"

She poured a third of her blood into the Slate of Fate and raised her hand again. The ten swords crashed down, and though she stopped them, her face turned ghostly white. However, she still radiated an intense sinister aura.

The Supremes on the warship erupted in cries.

"Alliance Master is invincible!"

"He's spent! He's exhausted his power!"

"Now's the time! Kill the demon!"

Qi Yuan's gaze turned razor-sharp. "To raise you so high, that slate truly is a treasure... But tell me, what use is that now?"

He didn't even budge. The sea behind him exploded once again this time, dyed in blood-red colour that was a hundredfold deeper.

He launched a hundred of Heaven-Cleaving Swords, followed by Death Radiance.

Combining the two techniques, his energy was replenished as he struck. A hundred colossal swords hung in the sky, casting blood-red light over the entire world.

Qi Yuan held Canary's hand, pointed at the warship, and slowly lowered his arm. “Die!”

A hundred blades fell. Terror froze everyone on board.

The Violet Heaven Maiden's mask cracked, fear flickering in her eyes. She screamed, "Slate of Fate!"

As the one who'd uncovered the slate’s deepest secret, she was its rightful owner. With the power bestowed upon her, she could rule the world!

Yet this time, nothing happened. The slate, her so-called divine ally, was utterly silent. Her outstretched hand was shattered by the first descending blade.

The warship split apart like paper. Every Supreme aboard was erased before they could even flee.

The Violet Heaven Maiden let out a piercing cry. "Noooo!!!"
