My Cold and Ruthless CEO Wife-Chapter 21: Taking a Leave
Long Tian stood outside, his back resting against the car they came in. He operated his phone while waiting for Murong Chen to return.
Not long after, she returned, her breathing a bit unsteady.
"Why didn’t you help me out?" Murong Chen complained.
After Long Tian was done with whatever he did, she was still battling the rest of the men. He just left and came to the car to wait.
Long Tian didn’t reply to her question. He brought out a bank card. "This is the fifty million they owe us, and there is an extra fifty million as compensation."
Murong Chen froze when she realized Long Tian didn’t reply to her question.
"I’m your boss. Answer me." She glared at Long Tian.
Long Tian flicked the bank card toward her. "Are you taking it or not?"
Murong Chen had no option but to take it, her gaze fixed on Long Tian.
Long Tian turned and walked toward the car.
"I wouldn’t say you didn’t hear me." She snorted.
Long Tian walked toward her.
He stopped right in front of her.
His cold gaze sent chills down her spine. "Next time you try what you did, you will regret it. None of what happened here must be known by anyone."
Murong Chen’s body shook. Wasn’t she the team leader? And now she’s threatened by one of her team members.
It seemed like their roles had been reversed.
She unconsciously nodded.
"That’s great." He walked back to the door.
Opening the door, he paused. "Oh, don’t think you can go running to your CEO. Her identity is worth nothing in my eyes."
After saying this, he entered the car.
Murong Chen was still frozen, her gaze on the bank card in her hands.
After a while, she walked over, entered the driver’s seat, started the engine, and drove them away.
The boss watched as they drove away, his body slumped to the ground.
Now the demon was gone.
With Long Tian’s words, he knew what to do. He brought out fifty million at first, but with a cold glance, he had to give all he had, the remaining fifty million.
He regretted what he did. If he had known, he would have just paid the debt.
Now he had brought the company to bankruptcy.
Long Tian’s last words rang out in his mind,
"I know you are a wise person. If anything that happened here is divulged out, I will make your life a living hell and make you regret every breath you take."
His demonic smile was etched in his mind.
Thinking of this, the boss fainted.
The engine hummed quietly as Murong Chen kept glancing at Long Tian, her expression showing how curious she was about the man beside her.
Long Tian rested his head on the seat with his eyes closed.
"Stop glancing at me and quickly eliminate that curiosity of yours. You wouldn’t like how it ends," Long Tian said, his eyes still closed.
Murong Chen felt embarrassed when she was caught off guard.
"Did you work in the army? How did you learn to fight like that?" Murong Chen asked.
Long Tian opened his eyes, looking through the glass. "Whatever you think of, don’t just let your imagination run wild."
His tone annoyed Murong Chen. Why did it seem like Long Tian didn’t take her seriously?
It was as if she didn’t interest him.
She looked at herself from head to toe.
She knew the kind of body she had and how many lecherous gazes she had endured until she grew tired of them.
From when they had met, Long Tian hadn’t even had an ounce of lust for her body.
When she felt his gaze earlier, it had been mild. It was as if he took her as an ordinary colleague.
"I warned you not to let your thoughts run wild. You are a beauty in your own aspect. But I am a married man, and I am faithful to my wife," Long Tian said with his eyes closed.
His words interrupted her thoughts. She felt comfort knowing her beauty was recognized, but his next sentence changed the atmosphere.
For a moment, the car went silent.
Murong Chen slammed the brakes.
The sudden stop of the car made Long Tian lose balance, his head almost hitting the glass of the car.
He controlled himself, frowned, and turned to Murong Chen, only to see her in shock.
"You are married." She shouted in shock.
Long Tian creased his eyebrows, confused about her reaction. "Is there anything shocking about marrying?"
"How old are you?" she asked.
"I don’t think there’s something that concerns my age with me already married. Also, if I tell you my age, I fear you can’t handle the shock, and by the way, it’s not that I am older than you," he replied.
Murong Chen’s face fell. She didn’t think Long Tian took her as a woman, because every one of his words was poisonous.
He looked at her expression and just chuckled. He wasn’t lying.
You can’t judge his age by his face. He would just clock nineteen years old this year.
He remembered his master who had told him that after he clocked eighteen years, he could come back here and begin his revenge because at that age, he’s a man.
Speaking of that cheap master, he wondered how he was doing.
And also his mercenary team, his journey here was known by few.
"So what do you mean by my words?" Murong Chen folded her arms and snorted..
Long Tian shrugged his shoulders. "You know I can’t say. You might start falling for me. I have to prevent that."
"Blah, who in the hell will fall for you? You uncaring man." She spat out.
"Thank you. I am also relieved at your words." Long Tian chuckled.
"You...."
"We better start moving now. Also, I will need a leave for two to three days," Long Tian said as he closed his eyes.
"You just worked for one day and you are taking a leave, not for one day but three days. What do you take this job for?" Murong Chen shook her head, not agreeing.
Long Tian yawned lazily. "It seems you don’t need the extra fifty million."
Murong Chen opened her mouth wide, unable to retort or speak back. Fifty million is a huge amount of money for their team, and it can boost them.
And this made her lose her strength because there was nothing she could do to stop Long Tian from collecting it back.
"Ok, I have heard." She exhaled deeply.
"Now that’s great." Long Tian smirked.
Tomorrow, his real business would begin.
