Chapter 76: Chapter 76: When Children Grow Up, They Leave Home

Xu Jinyan: ...

Hey, have you two forgotten there’s another person here?

Is it too much to totally ignore a living, breathing human being right here? Too much or what?

Young Master Xu felt he ought to pridefully turn around and go upstairs, but he just couldn’t resist the allure of seafood. Even though those two didn’t call him over, he shamelessly followed them anyway.

They act like he doesn’t exist, well, he could pretend the same.

As long as they don’t forget to order an extra portion for him when they choose the food.

Jiang Yuan noticed the little tail trailing behind them but considering she was going to be his sister-in-law, he should be generous, so he pretended not to see it.

Upon leaving the villa, as expected, they saw several seafood stalls nearby.

Xu Jiayan picked a stall that seemed to have a cleaner environment and led Jiang Yuan into it.

Most of these seafood stalls were open-air with small tables and stools. It was just right for Jiang Yuan and Xu Jinyan to sit, but Xu Jiayan’s long legs were quite awkward in the cramped space.

The seafood here was mostly caught from the sea that day, looking vigorous and exceptionally fresh.

The two little ones curiously leaned over the fish tanks, their small heads touching as they peered at the various sized tanks filled with familiar and unfamiliar seafood.

Jiang Yuan: "What do you want to eat?"

Young Master Xu pointed to a large lobster and said, "I want to eat this one, it’s definitely delicious."

The little girl swallowed: "I think it looks tasty too."

After speaking, the two little ones turned around and expectantly looked up at Xu Jiayan.

Xu Jiayan: "...I got it!"

After finishing with the lobster, they went to look at the big crabs.

Jiang Yuan: "Do you want to eat? I’ll treat you."

Young Master Xu: "Yes!"

Then the two of them again expectantly turned to look at Xu Jiayan.

Xu Jiayan: ...

Wasn’t it said that all her money was for his use alone?

And the sight of her own brother next to her was strangely irritating.

The two listed everything they wanted to eat, and after ordering, they obediently went back to their little stools to sit and wait for the seafood feast.

While waiting, the little girl’s bright eyes curiously scanned around until suddenly she pointed in one direction and said, "Eh, those two look like Aunt Wan and Uncle Xu!"

Xu Jinyan was sitting beside her, and upon hearing this, he instinctively lifted his head to follow her gaze.

Indeed, it was those two.

On seeing their table full of seafood, it was clear what was going on.

Young Master Xu immediately jumped off his stool and rushed toward them angrily: "You two actually sneaked out to eat seafood without us."

"Uh!"

Lin Wan hadn’t expected to run into her son outside. Now being questioned by the sudden appearance of the bratty kid, her face showed a mix of surprise and awkwardness: "I thought you had eaten so much tonight that you wouldn’t be hungry, so I didn’t call you."

Who could have thought a sneaky midnight snack would be caught red-handed.

"Hmph, you two just wanted to hog it all to yourselves." Young Master Xu felt his young heart had been repeatedly hurt that day.

It was bad enough his brother didn’t want to bring him along.

And now even his parents went out to eat without him.

It seemed no one in this family cared for him; he was just a poor, unloved little soul.

Lin Wan was hit where it hurt and couldn’t help feeling guilty, fearing the bratty kid might see through her, so she glared at him forcefully and said, "What are you talking about? Do you think your dad and I are those kinds of people?"

Although the bratty kid spoke the truth, she would never admit it.
