"Let’s go, let’s go, big brother is going to show you something fun." Xu Jinyan, without another word, grabbed the little girl and ran upstairs. They sneaked into Lin Wan’s room.

"What are you doing?" the little girl blinked, looking at him with puzzled eyes.

"Shhh—"

Xu Jinyan put his finger to his lips, making a quiet gesture. He stealthily pulled her into the room and then peeked out the door to check the hallway, making sure they weren’t noticed before quickly shutting the door.

"Quick, come here."

Xu Jinyan pulled her over to Lin Wan’s makeup table. His eyes sparkled as he gazed at the "treasures" on the table. He climbed onto the stool using both hands and feet, and briskly gathered an assorted pile of makeup from the table, dumping it haphazardly on the floor and said to Jiang Yuan, "Let’s play with this."

Half an hour later.

The little girl, growing impatient, shifted her body and asked, "Are you done yet?"

"Almost, almost, don’t move around. I’m almost finished!"

Little Bully Xu squatted in front of her, wielding an eyeshadow stick, dabbing here and drawing there. After a moment, he casually threw the items on the floor and declared, "Done!"

"Does it look nice?" the little girl fluttered her eyes, which were painted like a panda’s, and looked forward with anticipation.

Scared by the commotion, Jiang Yuan’s sobs halted; her little frame shivered uncontrollably.

Xu Jinyan shouted, attempting to grab the dazed little girl on the floor to make a getaway.

But he didn’t manage to pull her up.

Clearly terrified, the little girl stood still, her tears dangling on her eyelashes, her big eyes, soaked from crying, looked at Lin Wan with fright and confusion, like a startled and bewildered fawn.

It was then that Lin Wan realized she had frightened the child. She quickly knelt down and embraced her, consoling, "Yuanyuan, don’t be scared, Auntie isn’t angry at you, Auntie is angry at your brother."

"Tell Auntie, did brother bully you just now? Auntie will punish him for you later, okay? Auntie will give him a good beating."

"I didn’t bully her!" Xu Jinyan immediately protested his innocence.

This is why girls are troublesome, always crying at the drop of a hat.
