My CEO Boss Is A Masked Internet Sensation-Chapter 16: The Lucky Draw
Chapter 16: The Lucky Draw
(Arata)
I knew they must be worried sick and wished to check how my first day went. Stella leaned over my shoulder to check the caller ID.
"Uncle Zyair and Aunt Skyla have called me five times to inquire about you. I told them you will be back in the evening. Talk to them." She patted my shoulder and got up, gathering the dishes to take them to the kitchen.
"Don't tell them about the secret contract with my boss," I requested.
"You know I will never tell a soul. Not even your annoying brother," she called out, swaying her hips as she moved towards the kitchen.
I shook my head and swiped on the touch screen of the phone to receive the call.
A bright smile I plastered on my face. My parents had been through enough; I wasn't going to worry them more.
Their excited faces appeared on the screen. As usual, Baba held Mama in his arms. Their love story was to swoon for. Mama used to work as a secretary for Baba, both fell in love and got married. I had never seen them fight or raise their voices at each other. They were always each other's strength.
"Hey! My moonshine, how are you?" Baba waved at me while Mama blew me a kiss.
"Baba, Mama, I am good. How are you guys?" I waved back at them.
"Just thinking about you. How was your first day?" Baba asked; although there was a smile on his face, I could sense the underlying tension.
"Good. I got the job," I informed them.
"We never doubted you. They are lucky to have you," Baba said with a tight smile. He was highly against my decision but agreed under Grandma and Mama's request.
"We are so proud of you." Mama beamed.
"You know your Aunt Erdith is from Marica City. I can always have some background check on the company roots..." I didn't let him finish, knowing where he was going with this.
"Baba, you need to let me do this without getting involved. You promised to let me make independent choices. So, please," I breathed out, the smile disappearing from my face, replaced by a scowl of disapproval.
"Oh! Ara Chan. He is just being cautious. You are free to make your own choices. We won't interfere," Mama quickly added, seeing how my mood soured. She nudged Baba with her elbow.
"Right, Zy."
He unwillingly nodded and said in all seriousness. His brows came together.
"Right, but if you ever need help, you will tell us. If anyone will bother you, just call me."
"I will, Baba."
"We love you, get some rest." Mama blew me another kiss.
"I love you too guys. Good night. Take your meds." I instructed. They reassuringly nodded at me.
I ended the call with a click of my thumb and tossed the phone on the sofa, slipping down.
"They worry about you. Ara." Stella leaned against the kitchen counter and sipped on some more wine.
"I know they mean well. It's just at times I feel suffocated like I can't grow like my individuality is lost."
"For parents, a child never grows up. Some parents are overprotected; I know they go overboard with you, but they can't help it."
I let out a slow sigh.
"If Andy hadn't betrayed me, I would have been living a different life. Attending parties and taking care of Baba's business, but his betrayal altered and changed me in a way I had never anticipated. Now I wish to discover myself and live life on my terms."
A permanent ache remained in my heart as I stared down at my empty ring finger. I had been trying to be strong, but the reminder of what Andy had said pinched me constantly.
Stella placed the glass down with a clink and glided towards the sofa. Perching beside me she threw her arms around my shoulders and placed her head on mine.
"Do it, I will always support you. And forget that barnacle, he doesn't even deserve to be in your thoughts."
Calmness seeped into my existence. I was lucky to have my best friend and family's support.
I placed my head over hers and we sat there for a while in silence when her phone began to ring.
"Ah ha! This baby girl has to go speak to her beau. But we will watch a movie later. Deal?" She straightened up and grabbed her phone in excitement.
"Deal, go talk to him." I playfully shoved her and she hopped away in excitement. Her chocolate brown waves bounced behind her as she made her way to the guest room.
Grabbing my phone, I got up and left for mine. I flopped on my bed, my head landed on the soft pillow as I used my index finger to swipe at my phone and unlocked it.
My mind was occupied, so I decided to just scroll through my social media from my secret account.
"Twisted Riders" video emerged on my screen and I was lost in his hypnotically well-built body. Seemed like he had uploaded a new video. This had been made from the front cam that had been adjusted on his bike as he rode it.
The white half-sleeved henley he had on was so tightly clinging to his torso that I could make out every muscle underneath. Somehow the cloth was damp, making it almost see-through as he casually rode the heavy bike. His hands covered in black leather gloveletts, only his long fingers visible.
His face was hidden behind a black helmet, with a black cloth covering his neck. The background had been blurred, so it was impossible to figure out where he was driving.
Every blue vein in his thick biceps was like a blue stream running under his skin, enticing and inviting to be stroked. No one had ever made me so sexually thirsty as this man did.
For a while, he drove casually and then leaned forward towards the camera, like real close and whispered in that gravelly voice which reminded me of Batman.

"Want to meet me? Drop your names in the lucky draw below in the comment section. One lucky girl will be chosen and invited to a place of my choosing. Are you bold enough to do it?" My ovaries seemed to have squeezed from merely his words. My heart drummed so ferociously as my hands went all clammy.
Without thinking I hit the comment section and entered my name in the lucky draw with shaking hands.
Living on the edge with my fingers crossed. This was going to be the greatest adventure of my life if he would select me.
