Chapter 930: Nerith’s Anxiety

"Are you a cultivator?"

She looked at him sharply, waiting for his answer. She couldn’t help recalling how effortlessly he had defeated her in their duel.

It was impossible for an ordinary human to possess that level of strength. Moreover, Yuan wielded Qi instead of Mana—and the amount within him was immeasurable.

After learning about such terrifying beings, Isolde could no longer dismiss the possibility that Yuan himself was one of them.

Yuan smirked at her question and leaned closer, his gaze locking with hers. "What do you think?"

After staring into his eyes for several seconds, Isolde finally spoke. "Your strength is unlike anything I have ever witnessed. No normal person could possess such power. And humans are not supposed to wield Qi."

"A human who controls Qi and possesses unimaginable strength...after everything you’ve told me about cultivators, how could I possibly think you are ordinary?"

"Is that how you see me now?" Yuan chuckled softly, sliding one arm around her waist and drawing her closer.

"It is simply the truth. You are a cultivator—someone who defies the heavens. I’m at a loss for words...you’re extraordinary," she replied, her eyes filled with admiration.

In her mind, Yuan was destined for greatness. His power would one day shake the world.

The coming war against the Undead King and his millions of soldiers would merely be a glimpse of what he was capable of.

Yuan then spent the next several minutes explaining cultivation in greater detail—its foundations, its stages, and the advantages it granted those who walked its path.

Isolde listened in stunned silence. From this moment onward, her entire perception of the world shifted dramatically.

It took her more than twenty minutes to process everything he had shared. The idea that Qi could transform a mortal into an immortal through cultivation was beyond her wildest imagination.

And yet, the proof sat before her—his arms around her, his presence steady and overwhelming.

After a long pause, she asked quietly, "Can I become a cultivator too?"

"Of course you can," Yuan replied with a confident smile. "You already possess a strong foundation due to your intense training. Once you learn a cultivation technique, you’ll be able to gather Spiritual Energy within your dantian."

"Your potential will be limitless once you begin practicing," he continued.

"In my family, aside from Nyx and Selvariel, everyone else is a cultivator. The strongest among us is Lady Yuyan. She stepped into the Divine Realm long ago."

"T-The Divine Realm...She must be unimaginably powerful. No one in this world could rival her," Isolde exclaimed, swallowing nervously.

"Indeed. And what makes her even more formidable is that she is a Divine Beast—a Dragon," Yuan said calmly.

"All dragons possess bodies far stronger than any other race. Even without cultivation, her natural strength alone could crush those so-called gods."

"With Divine Realm cultivation added to that, she is nearly unstoppable in this world. It is fortunate that she was sealed within a personal world. If someone were to truly anger her...the consequences would be beyond imagination." Yuan’s voice carried a faint chill beneath his smile.

Hearing this, Isolde swallowed hard. Her complexion paled slightly as a thin layer of sweat formed on her skin.

"What about the woman with black horns and a mix of crimson and black hair? Is she also some kind of Divine Beast?"

"That’s right. Xi Meili is also a Dragon. Not just any dragon—she carries the lineage of a Primordial Dragon. She is one of the proudest beings in the entire world." Yuan replied with a faint smile.

"Unbelievable..." Isolde leaned against him, swallowing nervously, her expression filled with shock.

"Don’t worry, she will be your sister since you have already become mine. However, be careful not to offend her. She currently has the mindset of a child, so provoking her would bring certain consequences." He warned her, worried that Xi Meili might do something outrageous if Isolde said the wrong thing.

"Act naturally around her and she will treat you kindly. Only Fang Xiaoyan can provoke her without getting herself killed."

Sometime later, both Yuan and Isolde arrived where Anna Grace and the others were relaxing. Having nothing else to occupy themselves with, they were simply chatting with one another.

As soon as Anna Grace and the others noticed Yuan and Isolde approaching, they immediately exchanged knowing glances.

Isolde sat on the sofa and faced Anna Grace and the others with a shy smile. She felt slightly embarrassed meeting their gazes, knowing they would become her new family members from now on.

"Sorry to keep you all waiting. I hope I didn’t cause any inconvenience by keeping Yuan away from you." She said gently, trying her best to maintain a calm and composed expression.

"Not at all. We’re perfectly fine with it." Before anyone else could respond, Mireya spoke first, a mischievous glint dancing in her eyes.

Nerith looked at Isolde with visible surprise. She was quite shocked that this devilish vampire had made a move on Yuan, leaving her behind without hesitation.

’This is... hard to believe. Is this still the Countess Isolde I know? She looks like someone hopelessly in love...’ Nerith thought, utterly speechless.

’Should I... also make a move on him? What if he dislikes me because of my appearance? I have too many scars covering my body... it’s unpleasant to look at.’ She thought, her expression flickering with hesitation and quiet fear.

Hundreds of battle scars marked her body—a testament to her hardships, her relentless will to grow stronger, and the sacrifices she had made for the Demonic Empire.

She couldn’t ignore the harsh truth that her body looked hideous and unpleasant to the eye. No man would desire a woman whose skin was filled with scars.

Because of this, Nerith had been hesitating to take a step forward. She lacked the confidence to win Yuan’s love, believing her body alone would push him away.

"Princess Nerith, you don’t look well. What has been troubling you?"

Suddenly, a voice resounded, pulling her back to reality. Turning her head, she saw Yuan looking at her with genuine concern in his eyes.

"It’s nothing... Please don’t worry about me." She replied, her voice distant and laced with quiet sadness.

All of a sudden, she stood up and left the room, leaving everyone confused by her abrupt action—especially Isolde, who looked particularly puzzled by the situation.

"Darling, you should go and talk to her. Keep her company... she doesn’t seem well." Anna Grace spoke with a sharp, knowing look, as if she understood exactly what was going on within Nerith’s heart.

Yuan didn’t question her. He knew there must be a reason his mother was sending him to look after Nerith. He had also realized that, perhaps unknowingly, Nerith had begun developing romantic feelings for him.

Furthermore, he felt the same toward her. It was as though they were destined to meet—fated to stand beside one another. That was the feeling he had when he first saw her.

With that, Yuan went after Nerith without another word.

Nerith stood before the beautiful lake behind the castle, gazing at the moon’s reflection shimmering across the water’s surface.

A soft breeze brushed against her cheeks, gently swaying her long hair. A strange pain gripped her heart—something she had never felt before—as if it had been pierced by an invisible dagger.

"This is so confusing... Why do I feel like my heart is breaking apart? Crumbling... slowly turning into dust..." She muttered softly, lifting her eyes toward the luminous moon, as if hoping it would answer her silent question.
