My Celestial Ascension-Chapter 744: Vanishing Ghost Blade
Yuan stared at the person who introduced himself as the Evil God with wide-open eyes, seemingly in disbelief. He was shocked and also curious about why he was in the presence of someone so powerful. It didn't make any sense to him.
The person before him was someone so powerful that people began to call him the Evil God. What kind of things did he do to get such a title? Did he kill people? How many had he killed to be called the Evil God?
A series of questions appeared in his head as he looked at the person who called himself Evil God with a dumbfounded expression.
"What did you do to get such a profound name?" Yuan asked, his voice laced with confusion, appearing clueless.
"Really? Is this some kind of joke? He still doesn't remember me… Unbelievable!" the Evil God said in disappointment, shaking his head with a heavy sigh.
Then he looked Yuan directly in the eyes and said, "I killed people. A lot of people, to be precise. I killed so many that if you stacked them together, it would reach beyond the sky."
"After a hundred million, I stopped counting. But if I had to guess, I've probably killed hundreds of billions of people," the Evil God said with a proud grin on his face as he looked at Yuan.
Upon hearing this shocking information, Yuan stared at the Evil God with wide-open eyes, seemingly stunned. He wanted to say something, but no words came out. He didn't even know how he should respond to this.
"W-Why did you kill so many people? There must be a reason you did that," Yuan asked after calming his mind a little. He became really curious about the reason why the Evil God had killed so many.
Upon hearing this question, the Evil God let out a wide grin before replying, "Because they were all an eyesore. That's why I killed them. Every single one of them was an eyesore to me, and I killed them all. It was fun."
"They would beg me to let them go, and I'd agree, giving them false hope of escaping alive. Just like you're giving those fools false hope," the Evil God chuckled, looking at Yuan with a sly grin on his face.
"You killed people just because they were an eyesore? Unbelievable…" Yuan mumbled in a low voice as he stared at the Evil God with wide-open eyes, seemingly in disbelief.
"That's right. And don't look at me with that expression. You're doing the same," the Evil God replied.
"No. I'm not doing this because it's fun. I'm doing this because they ignored my warning," Yuan responded immediately, shaking his head.
"Haha! No matter what you say, I know you're enjoying watching them fight each other to death. And you're doing this because you also think they're an eyesore," the Evil God said before bursting into wild laughter.
"That's not true at all. I'm not having fun!" Yuan shouted, furious at the Evil God.
"But it is true. It's the undeniable truth, and you already know it in your heart."
"Don't talk bullshit."
Yuan dismissed his words, feeling certain he wasn't doing anything wrong. He was just giving Kael and Zane what they deserved for coming after him and threatening his wives.
They had to pay the price for threatening him and his wives, even though he had already warned them during their previous encounter. They'd crossed the line by coming here to seek revenge against Yuan and the women he cared for.
In Yuan's eyes, they no longer deserved to live. Both Kael and Zane were fools for following the Holy Church's path, acting all righteous and heroic. Yuan despised that kind of idiocy the most.
However, a troubling thought appeared in his mind. Earlier, he had felt different—as if someone was manipulating his thoughts, pushing him to act in ways he normally wouldn't. Could the Evil God have been behind it?
'Could this be his doing?' Yuan wondered, confusion flashing across his face.
"No. It wasn't me. It was all you—and you alone. We're not ghosts that possess others. We're here… for a reason," the Evil God said with a profound smile, staring at Yuan with a serious look. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
Upon hearing this, Yuan was shocked. He couldn't believe the man had just read his thoughts, as if he'd spoken them aloud.
"How do you know my thoughts? If you're not possessing me like a ghost, then how do you explain this?" Yuan asked, his voice filled with confusion and surprise.
"Well, no matter what you think, we're not ghosts, and we're not controlling you. You're doing this all on your own," the Evil God replied with a wide grin on his face.
Yuan then turned to look at the other person standing beside the Evil God. The man wore a calm smile, seemingly unbothered by the Evil God's presence. They appeared to be quite familiar with one another.
"Since he is the Evil God, who are you? And why do you look the same as him—and me?" Yuan asked, curiosity evident on his face.
"You already know who I am, so you shouldn't ask the same question twice," the man replied with a faint smile, his demeanor entirely different from the Evil God's.
Then the man smiled again. "But… since you're having trouble remembering me, I have no choice but to introduce myself to you."
"Sheng Tian—that is my name. But I was once known as the Vanishing Ghost Blade. I was the most famous and dangerous assassin in the world. People would rather die than speak my name," Sheng Tian said with a proud smile, his eyes glinting mysteriously as he looked at Yuan.
Yuan looked at Sheng Tian with wide-open eyes, seemingly in disbelief.
At first, he thought this person might have a gentle nature, but it turned out to be exactly the opposite. He was just as ruthless as the Evil God—perhaps even more so.
"However, compared to the reputation of the Evil God, mine pales. I operated in the shadows, while the Evil God here openly opposed the Celestial Emperor and killed the very first Celestial Emperor in history," Sheng Tian spoke with a soft smile, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Upon hearing this, Yuan looked at the Evil God with wide-open eyes, seemingly in disbelief. To think he was powerful enough to kill the First Celestial Emperor—the one who governed and ruled the entire world.
No wonder he earned the title Malevolent God of Slaughter—Evil God. His deeds were truly evil and terrifying. People feared even the mention of his name, and uttering it became a taboo among the masses.
Yet Yuan remained confused about why he was meeting such people in this strange place, and why he had been experiencing such bizarre and terrifying dreams lately. Was everything connected to him? What was his relationship with these familiar yet unfamiliar people?
Then, a thought appeared in his mind. It was confusing at first, but he was slowly beginning to grasp it. Still, he couldn't tell if this was actually real, or simply a coincidence—perhaps it was reality itself.
'Am I the reincarnation of these terrifying people? Was I the "Evil God" in my past life?'
And thinking about it more carefully, everything started to make sense as he recalled his previous life on Earth—how he lived, and how he died.
On this basis, the Evil God and Sheng Tian could very well be personas from his past life. And since they claimed he already knew them deep in his heart, that was already a huge hint.
Unfortunately, before he could ask them to confirm his suspicions, his vision suddenly darkened—and he found himself watching Kael and Zane fighting. Both had sustained heavy injuries.
Kael was missing a limb, and Zane was severely wounded, barely able to stand. Despite their awful condition, both continued to fight.
"This battle is already decided, Kael. I'll win this fight and leave this place alive. Just die already!" Zane launched a powerful strike at Kael, his sword moving at a terrifying speed toward Kael's chest.
However, Kael managed to react just in time, raising his sword to block the attack. But because he was missing a limb, he couldn't fully deflect it and received a deep slash across his ribs.
"Ackkkk!" Kael let out a loud scream as the blade sliced deeply into his flesh, blood spurting from the wound.
"You've always been in my way, stealing everyone's attention. This is my chance to retaliate—so just die already!" Zane shouted, a wide and vicious grin spreading across his face.
"Zane, you bastard! How dare you say something like that? You're nothing but an attention seeker. You always tried to flirt with the girls, yet I still considered you a friend," Kael muttered through clenched teeth. The pain was intense, and it was getting harder for him to speak.
"And I didn't succeed in scoring a single girl, all because of you, you jinxed bastard!" Zane shouted before swinging his sword at Kael.
This time, Kael couldn't react in time. The sword pierced straight through his chest and came out from his back.
"Y-You ungrateful bastard… you really did it, huh…" Kael muttered weakly, his face drained of all color as he stared at Zane.
"No hard feelings. I just want to live—and the only way to leave this place is if you die," Zane replied coldly, his voice devoid of emotion and his eyes dead.
Miss Zara, Little Zoe, Aisha, and Princess Livia watched in horror. They couldn't believe what they had just witnessed—Zane actually killed his own friend.
What a twisted and backstabbing person he truly was. Just to save his own skin, he sacrificed the very friend he grew up with, trained with, and shared memories with.
And he did it without an ounce of grief—completely emotionless. People like that don't deserve to live.
Meanwhile, Yuan and his wives also watched the scene, surprise written across their faces. None of them had expected Zane to truly go through with it.
This was beyond what they imagined—completely unexpected.
Zane pulled his sword out from Kael's corpse and looked at Yuan with a wide grin, as if he had just won a trophy in a game.
"Look. I killed him, just like you said. Now let me leave this place—you promised," Zane said as he sheathed his sword and placed it inside his magic pouch, ready to leave.
"You can leave. I always keep my promises. However…" Yuan said, a wide, vicious grin forming on his face, "I don't think Valeria here will let you leave this place alive."
Zane looked at Yuan in disbelief. His expression turned blank, as if the ground had vanished beneath his feet.
"D-Don't joke with me! I'm not in the mood for jokes, you sick bastard!" Zane shouted, anger flaring in his eyes as he glared at Yuan with disgust.
Valeria pulled her sword from her spatial ring and stepped forward, her eyes locked onto Zane with a murderous glint and fury written all over her face.
"Calling yourself a friend and then sacrificing your own to save your skin? Do you think I'll let someone like that live?"
As she approached, Zane staggered back a few steps. He was injured, and unable to move properly—he stumbled and fell onto the ground, landing on his buttocks.
Without hesitation, Valeria swung her sword.
In the blink of an eye, Zane was decapitated.
"The answer is absolutely no…"
