My Bugged System Made Me Too OP!-Chapter 56: What did you say about my sister?
Noah’s gaze finally drifted toward the boy, sharp and cold, the scorn in his eyes so intense it was almost tangible.
The boy clicked his tongue, a sharp, provocative sound meant to challenge, meant to test Noah.
He smirked, leaning slightly forward as if he had the upper hand.
"What’s with that look..." he said, his voice carrying arrogance, pride, and a hint of menace. "...still haven’t learned your place even after getting suspended at the academy?"
Amelia froze. Her eyes widened instantly at the words, her gaze flicking nervously from the boy to her brother.
For a moment, she couldn’t breathe properly, caught between relief that Noah was here and panic at what the boy had just revealed aloud.
She could see the tightness around Noah’s eyes, the slight flare of his nostrils as his jaw clenched in visible frustration.
’This isn’t how I planned for her to find out...’ Noah thought.
He hadn’t intended for Amelia to learn about his suspension in such a public way, especially not in front of these people.
The boy, noticing the slight movement in Noah’s expression, chuckled with increasing confidence.
He thought he had finally gotten a reaction, that he had provoked Noah enough to break his composure. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
His smirk widened, eyes glinting with a dangerous amusement.
"And why are you still staring at me like that..." he continued, his voice dripping with mockery, "...would you like me to teach you a lesson like I did your sister?"
Noah’s patience ended in the instant those words left the boy’s mouth.
His hand shot forward, swift and precise, connecting with the boy’s face in a single, clean punch.
The impact was brutal, sending the boy flying through the air with a twisting, violent arc before he crashed unceremoniously into the group of three girls behind him.
The three girls gasped and yelped, their hands instinctively flying up to protect themselves, their expressions frozen in shock.
The suddenness of the attack left them unable to react in time; their previously smug, confident expressions melted into wide-eyed horror.
Amelia’s own breath caught in her throat as she watched the scene unfold, her body tensing at the sheer force of the punch.
The boy groaned as he hit the ground, his body sprawled across the floor, one arm flung to the side.
He gritted his teeth and began to push himself up, but the sting in his face, the sharpness of pain, and the sudden intrusion of shock all combined to slow his movements.
Blood trickled from his nose and lips, a clear sign that the punch had done more than just surprise—it had broken something, the soreness radiating through his face with every breath he took.
He hissed through clenched teeth, his pride clashing with the sudden realization that he had underestimated Noah.
"You... bastard!" he shouted, his voice breaking slightly. "How dare you hit me?!"
Noah ignored Amelia’s nervous glance, his eyes locking onto Tou with a cold, unflinching intensity.
"What did you say again, Tou... about teaching my little sister a lesson?" he said.
The effect on Tou was instantaneous. A chill ran down his spine, snaking like ice through his veins, making every muscle in his body tighten involuntarily.
For the first time, he realized the eyes staring into his were not just sharp—they were lethal.
The weight behind Noah’s presence made him feel as though he were standing before a mountain, a giant capable of crushing him with a single motion, of extinguishing him without a second thought.
Tou’s bravado wavered for a heartbeat. His mind scrambled for an excuse, some way to regain the arrogance he had projected before, but every thought felt thin, hollow, and insignificant.
’This trash... does he think he’s some kind of hot shit? Looking at me like that...’ He gritted his teeth, forcing his fingers into fists as the fear tried to creep into his movements, trying to make him stumble or hesitate.
Tou shook his head, trying to push down the rising panic, a faint flicker of defiance sparking in his eyes.
His lips curled into a jagged, forced grin, teeth gnashing as he lifted his hand toward Noah in a sweeping, theatrical gesture.
"Yeah... she was talking anyhow to my sister..." he spat out, voice slightly unsteady but striving to sound commanding. "...without knowing her place, and I gave her a little disciple!"
At the same time, he muttered a few low, strange syllables under his breath, almost unintelligible.
Sparks of lightning danced along his arm, small arcs crawling along the surface of his skin, crackling and hissing with each movement.
His lips curled upward, the smirk widening as he watched the electricity jump from his fingers to the air in front of him.
"You’re nothing but a trash apprentice magus," he continued, his voice louder, the confidence returning in waves though still tinged with the lingering fear he felt from Noah’s gaze.
"While I am an adept! Don’t think you can escape my disciple!" The final words were spat out with venom, each syllable sharpened by the electric charge that now began to coalesce into a visible form between his hands.
Noah’s expression remained unchanged, his posture calm, almost casual.
Slowly, the sparks began merging, swirling together until a small ball of lightning floated in front of Tou’s hand.
Tou’s smirk broadened, puffing his chest slightly as though the very energy of the ball could intimidate Noah on its own.
He yapped again, the words sharp and cutting as he tried to maintain the upper hand through sheer bravado. "Go on, take this, and realize your place! You’re nothing!"
Noah didn’t move a muscle. He was calm, almost lazy in contrast to Tou’s frantic energy.
Then, with a sudden, fluid motion, Tou released the lightning ball, thrusting his arm forward and launching it at Noah with all the speed and precision he could muster.
The ball shot forward, leaving a faint trail of electric sparks twisting in its wake, the air sizzling as the concentrated energy cut through it with visible force.
For a moment, it seemed unstoppable, a perfect strike that would crush Noah if it connected.
Tou’s eyes glimmered with anticipation, confident that this single strike would establish dominance.
Noah, however, simply stepped slightly to the side.
The lightning ball missed entirely, streaking past him and bursting into tiny sparks in the thin air a few feet away.
