Chapter 794: Chapter 713: Seeking Help

Lu Xing placed the teapot and teacups on the tray, and Qin Miaomiao took the tray from his hands, flashing him a faint smile: "Leave the rest to me, and make sure you don’t blink."

Hearing her voice filled with confidence, Lu Xing’s sister surprisingly started to look forward to it.

Holding the tray, she made her way to the living room, scanning the room before stopping beside Old Sir Lu. Carefully and obediently, she took down the teapot and teacups, placing the poured tea in front of each person according to their seating arrangement.

Lu Xing observed every tiny action closely, unable to suppress the faint smile on his lips.

Old Sir Lu was aware that Mo Wenwan was visiting the ancestral home for the first time. Though he didn’t know much about her character or personality, her actions couldn’t help but earn his admiration.

"I didn’t realize you knew how to make tea."

Mo Wenwan appeared exceedingly embarrassed: "Grandpa, you flatter me. My tea-making skills are amateur; please don’t make fun of me."

Lu Xing spoke as he picked up the teacup and handed it to his grandpa.

Old Sir Lu took a sip and said plainly, "Apart from the quality of the tea leaves, the skill of the person brewing the tea should never be overlooked. Lu Xing, you’ve found yourself quite the capable girlfriend."

"As long as Grandpa likes her, that’s what matters."

Mo Wenwan feigned shyness, lowering her head.

Lu Qing observed Mo Wenwan deliberately, his thoughts analyzing her. Her gaze had been fixed on Lu Xing the whole time; it wasn’t hard to see that their visit today might include some level of staging.

Qin Miaomiao studied Lu Xing and Mo Wenwan, a subtle smile playing at the corner of her lips. It seemed Lu Xing had brought reinforcements, even going as far as involving Mo Wenwan—how intriguing.

Lu Qing held Qin Miaomiao’s hand, feeling how icy it was. Her mood had noticeably dimmed under the deliberate indifference from Grandpa, which evidently affected her greatly. After pondering earnestly, he spoke: "Let’s have some tea."

Qin Miaomiao quietly picked up her teacup.

"We’re all family. There’s no need for formalities in the future."

Old Sir Lu spoke as he deliberately turned his attention to Mo Wenwan: "Make sure you visit often with Lu Xing in the future."

"Grandpa, as long as you don’t find me irritating, I’ll be more than happy to."

Mo Wenwan spoke as she picked up the teapot and refilled Old Sir Lu’s cup.

Lu Xing was quite gratified by her attentiveness, clearly impressed by how naturally Mo Wenwan fit the role. Her way of interacting with an elder she just met felt as if they had known each other for ages—bringing her along was undoubtedly the right choice.

"Next time, let me know in advance when you’re coming."

Lu Qing casually remarked, but Lu Xing didn’t respond. Instead, Old Sir Lu interjected: "He can come whenever he wants. You’re so busy; why bother notifying you? In the future, if you feel like coming, just give me a call beforehand."

"Understood, Grandpa."

Mo Wenwan realized Old Sir Lu was quite protective of Lu Xing. She had always assumed that his favor predominantly went to Lu Qing; however, this indicated her perspective required a shift. With new thoughts surfacing, her tone subtly adjusted.

"Why don’t you all stay for dinner today?"

With a single sentence, Old Sir Lu convinced both Lu Xing and Mo Wenwan to remain.

Though Lu Qing wasn’t pleased about Lu Xing staying for dinner, he begrudgingly accepted under his grandfather’s watchful eye.

"Excuse me for a moment."

Qin Miaomiao stood and said before turning and heading up the stairs.

Lu Xing’s gaze lingered on Qin Miaomiao’s retreating figure, and Mo Wenwan curiously followed his line of sight, staring at Qin Miaomiao’s distant silhouette in a daze for a while.

Lu Qing guided Grandpa to the courtyard, while Lu Xing excused himself with a reason to go to the restroom.

Left alone in the living room, Mo Wenwan collected the emptied teapot and teacups, tidying up briefly. When she saw a housekeeper entering to clean, she seized the chance to ask nonchalantly: "Does Young Master Lu typically stay on the second floor?"

"No, they don’t live here."
