Chapter 566: Chapter 504: Green Shadow Moves In

"Iron Blood Duke," More Garcia was baffled.

He had thought it was an underground power within the Royal Capital, covertly contending with the Royal Court. freewёbnoνel.com

Or perhaps some mysterious organization on the continent of Aino.

Or even simply a coalition force assembled by some of the stronger kingdoms.

Although none could compare to the Royal Court, with the Black Tide at hand, having more allies was a good thing—at least, according to what this Transcendent had said, they were intent on seeking the truth about the Black Tide and resolving the disaster from its source, which made them more reliable than those old-fashioned nobles in the Royal Court who were content with the status quo.

Whether it was this Transcendent holding his own against Housekeeper Henry and his men without falling short or their ability to reach Town West City, it all indicated that this mysterious force was indeed not to be underestimated.

Over the decades since the outbreak of the Black Tide, Town West City had not been without Transcendents venturing to the Royal Capital for investigation and aid. However, one after another, numerous Transcendents had departed on their missions, only to vanish without a trace in the end.

The distance between Town West City and the Royal Capital was vast, fraught with peril along the way. Iron Blood Duke More couldn’t say for sure whether the Transcendents seeking aid had encountered insurmountable dangers on their journey or, perhaps, in the Royal Capital...

His mind raced with possibilities, but it had never occurred to him that the so-called mysterious power could actually be from Outer Heaven?

What the hell?

Are you kidding me??

In the tens of thousands of years of history of the Aino Kingdom, there had never been legends of what lay beyond the heavens, not even among the mighty figures recorded in the history books had anyone been heard to fly out of the continent of Aino... After all, the vast lands, oceans, and countless regions awaited exploration.

Had it not been for the fact that Zabol had displayed impressive strength and recounted many incidents from the Royal Capital, he might have thought him a lunatic out to amuse himself.

Even now, skepticism marked his face.

"Look." Zabol raised his hand grandly, and several containers appeared on the open ground inside the City Lord Mansion.

"What’s this?"

"Food, Source Crystals, a token of our sincerity. Feel free to open them and see for yourselves."

The first container was opened, revealing a mountainous pile of Source Crystals. Even separated by energy-blocking crystal walls, the mere whiffs that leaked out were intoxicating to the Transcendents present.

Pure high-grade merchandise—the worth of these crystals in the container was at least a million units!

Decades ago, it wouldn’t have been difficult for their City Lord Mansion to produce such an amount of Source Crystals, but now, they even had to ration their daily lighting. Gazing upon such a massive box of Source Crystals, their eyes gleamed with avarice.

Whoosh~

Zabol swept his hand, and the container was promptly taken away.

The few Transcendents paused, grasping his implication, and restrained their gazes as they proceeded to open the second, third, and fourth containers.

One was filled with compressed rations, another with vegetables and fruits, and yet another—astonishingly—with a whole box of Mutant Beast meat!

"Surely you didn’t slaughter Mutant Beasts that had been bred for decades?" Housekeeper Henry swallowed hard. It was a grand gesture, but... wasn’t it a shocking waste?

Living Mutant Beasts were far more valuable—they might even bear offspring!

In Town West City nowadays, they could only rear a few low-level Mutant Beasts, offspring of creatures from decades past. The last time they had slaughtered an elderly Mutant Beast for meat was, what, ten years ago?

Yet the Mutant Beast meat, now segmented and packed in the colossal container, was evidently from a powerful creature. And by the looks of it, it wasn’t one near death. The difference between the hide patterns of a beast in its prime and one in old age was unmistakable to his experienced eye.

Zabol did not reclaim these containers; after he nodded in approval, Housekeeper Henry opened the one with vegetables and fruits.

In terms of value, the containers of grains and produce were inconsequential compared with the Mutant Beast meat and even less so than the entire container of Source Crystals.

Housekeeper Henry picked up some of the produce, scrutinizing it closely for a while before looking back at Iron Blood Duke More and shaking his head, "All varieties I’ve never seen before."

"Maybe they’re specialities from some remote area," someone else suggested.

While that might be the case, they were starting to believe. They had no prior knowledge of the mysterious power; the other party could have easily posed as a kingdom from Aino or some other such force. There was utterly no need to claim they were from beyond the heavens.

After a pause, "Iron Blood Duke" More spoke, "What do you want in return?"

"First, resource exchange. We’ll trade food and Source Crystals for knowledge from Town West City, including runes, Creation, and so forth. Second, intelligence sharing. We want to learn more about the Royal Capital... including information from before the apocalypse and your current understanding of the Black Tide. Third, we need to establish a base of our own within Town West City."

Housekeeper Henry’s brow furrowed, "Food and Source Crystals are indeed what we need, but to trade our knowledge of Town West City..."

Cultivation Skills, Combat Skills, Magic, and so on were the core heritage upon which their families depended. Zabol had anticipated that the City Lord Mansion wouldn’t so readily trade knowledge... The nobles of Aino prized their legacies highly, guarding them closely. Even a relatively progressive noble like Iron Blood Duke More couldn’t avoid this.

There would be plenty of time in the days to come.

According to what the Lord had said, as long as the price offered by them was right, it was very likely that Town West City would actively seek out an exchange.

Of the three conditions, the simplest was the garrison.

Town West City covered a vast area, almost the size of a provincial city. Even though over half of it had been turned into farmland for growing food, a space the size of a large university campus was still set aside.

Their sincerity was indeed significant.

...

"This area used to belong to a noble family from Town West City. After their decline, they sold the land to our City Lord Mansion. It was originally planned for further reclamation, but now, we are giving it to you,"

Housekeeper Henry said.

Giving them this area, located near the City Lord Mansion, was for the purpose of surveillance, so that if this mysterious power schemed anything against Town West City, being closer to the City Lord Mansion would make it easier to suppress.

It wasn’t about trust. It was that the price of food and Source Crystals was too high for them to refuse.

"Here, my companions have arrived."

Shay, Xing Ling, Xing Yue, and Xiaoli hurried over after seeing that the negotiations with Zabol had concluded.

Housekeeper Henry’s pupils shrank.

All of them were Senior Transcendents, their aura not a bit weaker than Zabol’s!

If they wanted to cause trouble... In the outer city, they probably would have no way to stop them.

A moment later,

Something happened that caused Housekeeper Henry to bulge his eyes. Zabol took out a strange spherical object and in the next second, a blue Light Gate appeared out of thin air. A young man dressed in splendid Armor stepped out from the blue Light Gate, waved his hand, and a grand building rose from the ground amid a rumbling sound.

Soon after,

The young man vanished as if he had never been there.

"???"

Housekeeper Henry looked up at the magnificent building, his mouth opening and closing, and thousands of words ultimately transformed into a silent sigh.

...

Tang Yu merely showed his face and waved his sleeves without taking a single cloud with him.

After the construction of the Sub-territory had been completed, even though he was in Gel City, he could still control it remotely with precision.

Quickly,

Zabol and his group hired many local residents, purchased and transported basic materials such as wood and stone, and leveled the site of the previously abandoned noble mansion, accumulating a good amount of material.

One by one, tall buildings rose from the ground.

In less than three seconds, the empty abandoned area changed drastically, causing Housekeeper Henry and the others, who had been secretly observing, to be greatly surprised.

At the City Lord Mansion,

"Iron Blood Duke" More Garcia had just stepped out of the training facility, his Armor imbued with Blood Evil Qi slowly dissolving into mist.

"Did that entity known as ’Green Shadow’ really construct a cluster of buildings in just a few seconds?"

"Yes," Housekeeper Henry let out a long sigh, "and I didn’t even see those Transcendents lift a finger. It’s as if the materials moved on their own and combined into buildings. All they did was employ some civilians to move materials."

"What about the rest? How did the trade go?"

Henry finally showed a smile, "The trade went smoothly. The amount of Source Crystals and food provided by those people was much more than we imagined. With these Source Crystals, the City Protection Array of Town West City can finally be activated, and this batch of food can slightly increase our stockpiles."

"Especially the Mutant Beast meat." He paused, "They provided a very large quantity. It can not only feed all our Transcendents, but I think we can also provide some to our Elite warriors. With the help of Mutant Beast meat, the Cultivation speed of our warriors will be even faster."

"As for what they traded from us..." Henry’s expression became a bit strange, "Earlier, to show sincerity, you had me open up the second-level treasury which also has some decent Cultivation Skills. But they didn’t choose those. Instead, they traded for a lot of materials—many rare materials that had been accumulated over a hundred or even hundreds of years were taken by them.

There were also a lot of Equipment in the treasury, but those people seemed to look down on them. Instead, several Arrays were traded."

"How about their premises in ’Green Shadow’? Any situations?"

"Uh, they have opened up some buildings like the Trading House, Training Facilities, and Star Level Restaurant, among others. The Trading House sells various goods, one can enjoy famous cuisine from Green Shadow at the Star Level Restaurant, and the Training Facilities is a building equipped with all kinds of training equipment, some of which... some seem unimaginable to me."

(Cough, so sick I can’t stop vomiting, I’ve been to the hospital and taken the medicine, but why do I feel worse and worse damn it! Only one Chapter today, sorry!)
