My Antique Mirror Is A Portal To Another World-Chapter 544: Meaningful Smile
Realizing he’d been caught red-handed, the Yang Mirror could only shamelessly thicken his face and glare at Bai Hanyun.
"Are you trying to scare me to death?!" he asked unhappily.
Rolling her eyes at him, Bai Hanyun shot back, "A thief’s heart, but not a thief’s courage."
Hearing that, the Yang Mirror’s face flushed with embarrassment. Raising his chin, he accused, "What? I can’t eat your food after working so hard for you?"
Bai Hanyun rolled her eyes again. "Eat. You can eat as much as you want. But next time, do it openly. Don’t act like a thief," she replied casually.
Although the Yang Mirror was unhappy with her words, he had no way to refute them since he’d been caught in the act.
Putting down his half-eaten fried rice, he asked, "So, what did you buy this time?"
Bai Hanyun took out dozens of large steel plates and bowls, glanced at him, and asked, "Are you done eating?"
The Yang Mirror put away the remaining fried rice and nodded.
"Since your stomach is full, come and help me," Bai Hanyun said as she took out the bags of food and drinks from her black Qiankun Pouch.
In an instant, the spacious kitchen was filled to the brim with bags.
Seeing this, the Yang Mirror was speechless.
"..." Did she rob restaurants?
Noticing him standing there in silence, Bai Hanyun clicked her tongue. "What are you standing there for? Come and help me."
Letting out a long, helpless sigh, the Yang Mirror replied, "Coming, coming."
With the Yang Mirror’s help, Bai Hanyun managed to prepare everything before dinner time. Just as she put away the plastic bags, a group of soldiers tasked with preparing dinner arrived.
When they saw the steel plates, bowls, and buckets full of food placed inside the kitchen, they were stunned.
Coming back to his senses, the team leader noticed Bai Hanyun washing her hands in the corner, with a tall, handsome man standing nearby.
Startled by her presence there, the team leader hurried over. Clasping his fists, he bowed respectfully and greeted her, "This subordinate greets Miss Bai."
Hearing this, Bai Hanyun turned around and saw the soldiers looking at her nervously. She stood up, dried her hands with a cotton cloth, and smiled at the team leader.
"You are here to prepare dinner?" she asked.
"Yes," the team leader replied, then gestured at the food. "Miss Bai, these are...?"
"You must be tired after the long journey, so I took the liberty of preparing half of tonight’s dinner," Bai Hanyun explained calmly.
When the soldiers heard this, their eyes lit up. In unison, they clasped their fists and said gratefully, "Thank you, Miss Bai, for your hard work."
Noticing them swallowing their saliva while staring at the food, Bai Hanyun added, "Since you are already here, can you all help me move the food outside? Tonight, let everyone eat to their fill."
"Yes, Miss Bai!" the soldiers replied excitedly and immediately began carrying the food to the long dining tables outside.
While they were working, the Yang Mirror saw Bai Hanyun take out a large wok and pour oil into it. Seeing her light the firewood, he asked, "Are you preparing more food?"
Bai Hanyun nodded and asked in return, "Do you think that food is enough to feed more than fifty-five thousand people?"
The Yang Mirror fell silent at her words. After pondering for a moment, he said, "You will be exhausted to death if you do this alone. Take out the ingredients. I will help you cook."
Raising her brows slightly, Bai Hanyun asked doubtfully, "You can cook?"
Rolling his eyes, the Yang Mirror snorted. "Who are you looking down on? Have you forgotten who I am?"
Although she still doubted his cooking skills, Bai Hanyun’s curiosity was piqued by his confidence.
"Alright, then," she agreed, standing up as she took out boxes of half-processed food and barrels of oil.
Pointing at the boxes, she said, "All of these need to be deep-fried over medium heat."
"No problem." The Yang Mirror nodded and snapped his fingers.
In the next second, the boxes opened, and the packs of half-processed food moved on their own.
Standing to the side, Bai Hanyun watched with great interest as those items moved on their own as the Yang Mirror assisted her using his spiritual power.
By the time the soldiers finished moving out the food Bai Hanyun had prepared earlier, the Yang Mirror had also completed his task.
Clapping her hands, Bai Hanyun couldn’t help but praise him. "Amazing. You finished hours of hard work in just a few minutes. This ability is incredibly convenient."
Sensing the envy mixed with admiration in her voice, the Yang Mirror gave her a meaningful smile. "You will be able to do this in the future."
Thinking he was simply comforting her, Bai Hanyun smiled back. "Maybe."
Glancing at the moon’s position hanging in the night sky, she added, "This should be enough to feed everyone. Let’s go back first. I need to take a shower after all this work. Thank you for your help, Yang Mirror."
"Alright. Go take care of yourself. I’m heading back now. Call me if you need anything."
Leaving those words behind, he turned into a streak of golden light and disappeared into the red mark on her wrist.
Before leaving, Bai Hanyun filled the small warehouse connected to the kitchen with additional supplies.
Walking out of the kitchen, she approached the team leader and said, "Brother, there’s more food inside the kitchen. If it’s not enough, there are additional ingredients in the warehouse. You can use them to cook more for the brothers."
The team leader nodded. "Understood."
Seeing more soldiers step in to help with the cooking, Bai Hanyun added, "Then I will take my leave first."
"Yes, Miss Bai."
After seeing Bai Hanyun off, the team leader turned to his men and shouted, "Brothers! Miss Bai has prepared extra meat and vegetable dishes for us tonight. Let’s work hard so everyone can eat their fill!"
Raising their fists, the soldiers responded excitedly, "Yes!"
