Chapter 495: Mysterious Men

While Feng Xiyan was thinking about how to deal with the suspicious man, Bao Shengjie suddenly said, "Look, he went inside that tent."

Hearing this, Feng Xiyan snapped out of his thoughts and looked at the laptop screen. Seeing the suspicious man disappear into the tent, he called out, "Feng Yi."

Two seconds later, Feng Yi appeared and knelt a few steps behind him. Clasping his fists, he responded with his head lowered, "Master."

Turning to look at him, Feng Xiyan ordered, "Go and find out his identity."

"This subordinate accepts the order." As soon as the words fell, Feng Yi disappeared from the spot.

Witnessing this, Bao Shengjie clicked his tongue in admiration. "These brothers are really amazing. They can come and go without leaving a trace."

Noticing his interest, Feng Xiyan said, "Brother Bao, if you are interested, you can come and join our training."

Hearing this, Bao Shengjie hurriedly shook his head. "No, no, no. Thank you for your offer, but I’m good."

’You must be kidding. Who could survive that kind of hellish training?’

While Bai Hanyun and the others continued monitoring the tent where the suspicious man had disappeared, Feng Yi was already on his way to the refugee camp.

Ten minutes later, he landed lightly near the tent. Concealing his aura and presence, Feng Yi easily sneaked to the back of the tent without being detected.

Just as he was about to pull out a dagger, Feng Yi paused and put it away. ’No, I can’t damage the tent. It was given by Fairy Bai and is very precious.’

With that in mind, Feng Yi searched around the tent and soon found a small window on the side. After confirming that no one was nearby, he lifted the curtain and was pleasantly surprised to find it unzipped.

Carefully lifting a small gap, he peered inside.

With all the windows and doors closed, the inside of the tent was dim, illuminated only by the faint sunlight that came through the small piece of see-through cover in the tent’s roof. In the center of the tent, six men were gathered in a circle.

Feng Yi calmly observed as they leaned close together, whispering in low voices.

"How is it? Have you found it?" asked the bearded man who seemed to be the leader.

The tall man who had just joined them shook his head and reported, "General, this subordinate couldn’t get into the city. The soldiers increased the security. This subordinate is afraid to expose our identities, so this subordinate can only return to report."

Hearing this, the bearded man clenched his fist and slammed it onto the old wooden table. Under his strength, the wooden table cracked, and dust flew up from its surface.

After a moment of silence, the bearded man said, "The Second Young Master has just received a letter from Master. We don’t have much time left. We must get that item before the Second Young Master loses his patience."

The others fell silent at his words.

After a brief silence, the tall man gathered his courage and said, "General, since we can’t enter the city as refugees, how about we sneak in?"

The bearded man looked at him. "Do you have an idea?"

The tall man nodded and took out a piece of animal skin hidden inside his clothes.

Spreading it on the table, he pointed at the map carved into it and said, "General, there is an underground river beneath this area. We can enter the city through it."

After he said that, the bearded man and the others studied the map for a long time.

Frowning slightly, the bearded man muttered, "There is no patrol in this area?"

The tall man nodded. "Yes."

Seeing that the bearded man remained silent, the tall man added, "General, this is our only way to enter the city and find that item."

"This general knows." The bearded man paused, then said, "But, don’t you find it strange that only this area is unguarded?"

Hearing this, the tall man fell silent. After a moment of thought, he looked up and responded, "General, we don’t have any other options."

After he spoke, the others nodded in agreement.

"General, we must give it a try," another man added.

After some thought, the bearded man finally agreed. "Fine. We will do it tonight at Zi Shi. Until then, hide yourselves and don’t draw attention."

Clasping their fists, the five men replied in unison, "This subordinate accepts the order."

Seeing that there was nothing more to learn, Feng Yi lowered the window’s curtain and disappeared. Ten minutes later, he appeared in the garrison.

"How is it?" Feng Xiyan asked calmly.

Clasping his fists, Feng Yi reported, "Master, there are six men inside the tent, including the tall man."

"They addressed one of them as General. This subordinate couldn’t see their faces clearly due to the dim lighting, but they appear to be trained soldiers."

"They plan to sneak into Xiqiang City tonight at Zi Shi through an underground river to search for an item. They didn’t specify what the item was. The tall man mentioned that the underground river is located in an area unguarded by the Feng Army."

"They also mentioned someone called the Second Young Master, and that they don’t have much time left because the Second Young Master just received a letter from their Master."

Feng Xiyan listened quietly and fell into deep thought. After a brief pause, realization flashed across his eyes.

"No wonder we couldn’t find him. So he’s been hiding right under our noses."

Hearing this, Feng Yi realized something. "Master, should we arrest them now?"

Feng Xiyan raised his hand. "No. There’s still this Second Young Master lurking in the shadows. Let’s use these men as bait."

After making his decision, Feng Xiyan ordered, "Let them enter the city. We will capture them after we find out what they are really looking for."

Feng Yi clasped his fists and responded, "Yes, Master. This subordinate will make the arrangements immediately."

"Mhm, go then."

With Feng Xiyan’s approval, Feng Yi disappeared from there.
