My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively-Chapter 76: Got Into Trouble?
"Please hurry up!" Sean Morgan couldn’t help urging from the side.
The doctor nodded, quickly placed the medical kit on the coffee table and opened it, taking out all the tools needed to treat the bullet wound. It was then he realized, in his rush out, he had forgotten something.
"I left in a hurry and didn’t bring the anesthetic. Young master, do you think... should we have someone go back and get it?" The doctor quickly reported honestly to Noah Drexler.
Upon hearing this, Sean Morgan quickly looked over at the bodyguard beside him, about to order when Noah Drexler suddenly spoke up.
"No need, go ahead." He leaned back on the sofa, his handsome face covered in sweat from the pain.
"This..." Upon hearing Noah Drexler’s words, the doctor showed a surprised expression. After a moment, he nodded and agreed.
"Alright!"
As he spoke, the doctor took out a roll of gauze and placed it directly by Noah Drexler’s mouth.
"Please, open your mouth!"
While speaking, a vibrating sound suddenly came from the pocket of the suit that had been thrown on the sofa — it was his phone ringing.
Noah Drexler frowned, turning to look at the suit.
Sean Morgan quickly took out the phone and handed it to Noah Drexler.
Noah Drexler extended his uninjured right arm and took the phone. When he saw the name on the screen, his expression paused for a moment.
It was Summer Shawcross.
"Boss, let’s deal with the wound first." Seeing this, Sean Morgan couldn’t help reminding him.
The wound needed immediate attention, or else he would lose too much blood!
As Noah Drexler stared at the phone in a daze, the call alert ended, and the phone returned to silence.
"Go ahead!" Noah Drexler took a breath and then said, pressing his lips together.
Hearing this, the doctor nodded, disinfected the scalpel, and then cut into Noah Drexler’s wounded skin.
Noah Drexler’s body was tense, with sweat continuously pouring out... he tightly pressed his thin lips together, but a sound ultimately escaped his throat due to the pain.
"Uh..."
Right at that moment, the phone, gripped tightly in his hand from the pain, started vibrating again.
He took a deep breath, then glanced down at the phone screen.
It was her calling again.
"Continue." He glanced at the doctor, suddenly instructing him.
The doctor paused, then nodded.
Noah Drexler’s long fingers slid across the phone screen, answering the call and putting it to his ear.
"Noah Drexler, why did it take you so long to answer, are you very busy?" From the other end of the line, Summer Shawcross tentatively asked.
"Yeah." He responded in a low voice, moving his Adam’s apple.
Upon hearing this, the person on the other end of the phone breathed a sigh of relief. Since he was very busy, he probably hadn’t had time to watch the news and therefore wouldn’t know about the events of this evening.
After a few moments of silence, a soft voice with a request came from the phone.
"Um... Noah Drexler, can we discuss something?"
At that moment, the doctor used forceps to extract the foreign object, and the pain caused Noah Drexler’s tense body to shudder slightly.
"Why aren’t you speaking?" Noticing his silence, Summer Shawcross couldn’t help but feel puzzled.
Beads of sweat dripped down Noah Drexler’s face; once the pain subsided a bit, he pressed his thin lips together and opened his mouth.
"Speak."
"It’s just... um, can you promise me not to get angry no matter what news you hear later?"
Her words made him furrow his brows.
"Got into trouble?"
