My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively-Chapter 164: His Calm Reaction Was Absolutely Expected!
Hearing the gradually approaching sound, Noah Drexler couldn’t help but furrow his brows.
He didn’t like others getting too close to him.
Just as he opened his eyes, ready to lose his temper, a soft voice sounded by his ear.
"Did I disturb you?" Seeing him suddenly open his eyes with a less-than-pleasant expression, Summer Shawcross couldn’t help but hesitate.
Noah Drexler’s expression froze for a moment, and two seconds later, the displeasure on his face quickly faded away.
He lifted his hand, and as she walked up to him, he wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her directly onto his lap as he habitually did.
Summer paused for a moment, shifting slightly with some discomfort, then turned her head to glance at the direction of the office door, speaking with concern.
"I should sit beside you, just in case someone comes in later; it wouldn’t look good."
Perhaps because of recent events increasing her popularity, when Summer entered the office, several of Noah’s secretaries outside had given her more than a cursory glance.
Hearing her words, Noah raised an amused eyebrow and asked her softly.
"Worrying about that now, isn’t it a bit late?"
Who was it that fearlessly sat on his lap the first time they came to the group to deliver chicken soup?
Hearing his words, Summer’s expression turned a bit awkward, naturally understanding what he meant.
Back then, he was overly cautious of her, every look filled with suspicion.
Wasn’t she just trying to prove her sincerity and sulk her face to curry favor with him...? But who knew this man wouldn’t be moved at all.
Just as Summer was unsure how to respond to his question, the man’s steady voice sounded in her ear again.
"In this place, no one dares to gossip."
All members of the TR Group have signed strict confidentiality agreements, and revealing even a little about the group’s internal matters would have very serious consequences.
After hearing him say this, she didn’t argue further, but instead placed the few boxes of freshly cut fruit she had just bought on the table, opened them one by one, and picked up a small fork to pierce a piece of cantaloupe, offering it to him.
"This cantaloupe is very sweet and delicious, give it a try."
Noah looked down at the cantaloupe in her hand. He didn’t like this fruit, even somewhat detested it.
But a second later, he still opened his lips nonchalantly, eating the cantaloupe she offered.
It still wasn’t a flavor he liked, yet it tasted better than any cantaloupe he’d ever had before.
Seeing him eat the fruit she offered without hesitation, Summer smiled in relief, then remembered her main purpose for being there.
"Right, there’s something else I wanted to ask you today."
"Go ahead." He raised an eyebrow, glanced at the box of sliced watermelon, and moved his thin lips, "Watermelon."
Upon hearing this, Summer quickly took a piece of watermelon with the fork, bringing it to his lips, then began to ask him.
"About my endorsements..."
Before she could finish, the man’s deep voice interrupted her.
"My orders." His response was calm, as if it was only natural!
Hearing his utterly composed voice, Summer couldn’t believe her ears!
He messed up her three endorsements and could still admit it so self-righteously?!
Nonetheless, Noah’s face remained composed, slowly opening his lips, ready to eat the piece of watermelon she fed him.
