My Aloof Husband Can't Stop His Devoted Affection-Chapter 446 - 025: Angry?_3
When introducing Yun Qi, she hesitated a little. The others didn’t know about their relationship, but she was well aware, and it was the first time she introduced him like this to someone.
"Hello." Yun Qi extended his hand, still somewhat modest, but his tone was very cold.
"Hello." Jiang Suie scrutinized Yun Qi, smiled and reached out to shake his hand lightly, then looked at Ye Lingran with a gentle smile: "Since your boyfriend is here, I’ll take my leave. Those words I just said come from the heart, I don’t regret saying them. I hope you find happiness."
"Thank you." Ye Lingran spoke with an apologetic tone: "I’m sorry..."
Jiang Suie laughed: "You didn’t do anything wrong, no need to apologize to me. Bye." Saying this, she waved and exchanged a glance with Yun Qi before turning to leave.
Watching Jiang Suie’s figure disappear into the night, Ye Lingran let out a long breath, and as she withdrew her gaze, she noticed Yun Qi was looking at her with a slightly dangerous glint in his half-closed eyes, which made her heart skip a beat. Innocently blinking, she was just about to break the silence when Yun Qi beat her to it and asked: "Did he just confess to you?"
"Um... I rejected him."
"Is she the one Yun Xi mentioned before who pursued you?"
Ye Lingran was taken aback, suddenly remembering when Yun Xi babbled nonsense last time. He hadn’t followed up, yet she didn’t expect he still remembered, so she instinctively refuted: "No..."
"So that means more than one person is pursuing you now?" 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"I..." Ye Lingran was dumbstruck, nearly at a loss for tears. Not good with words, she truly didn’t know how to explain in face of his questions.
"Did he hold your hand just now?"
"Not exactly..."
"Still means he held it."
"It was my wrist..."
"That’s still holding."
Ye Lingran was speechless: "Are you bickering with me?"
Yun Qi pressed his lips, silent, his handsome face still clouded, seeming rather displeased.
In the stillness between them, Ye Lingran sensed he was angry. Just as she was about to say something, she noticed two traffic police officers near Yun Qi’s Bentley parked by the roadside, appearing to be writing something to stick on his car window, and quickly tugged Yun Qi, implying: "That’s your car, right? The officers are sticking something there."
Hearing this, Yun Qi looked over, then strode towards the officers, conversing about something. Ye Lingran followed and heard one officer say: "Next time be more careful. The fine slip has a QR code; just scan it to pay. Now move your car!"
"Okay, I’m really sorry for the trouble." Yun Qi’s attitude was very courteous. After sending off the officers, he tore the fine slip from the car window, paid the fine using his phone, then turned his head to Ye Lingran: "Get in the car first!"
"What happened? What’s wrong?"
"You can’t park here; got a fine." Yun Qi explained while opening the passenger door.
Hearing this, Ye Lingran felt somewhat guilty. Without hesitating, she bent down and got in the car. Once he started driving into the traffic, Ye Lingran spoke to break the silence: "Um... Did you have dinner tonight?"
"I did."
"Then, did you come to find me for a particular reason tonight?"
"Can’t I look for you without a reason?"
"Um... no." Hearing his gentle yet slightly irritated tone, Ye Lingran cautiously asked: "Are you angry?"
At her words, Yun Qi turned his head towards her, then quickly looked away, shaking his head: "No."
"You are clearly angry."
"I’m just mad at myself, not at you."
"What do you mean?"
"Nothing."
Seeing he didn’t intend to elaborate, Ye Lingran didn’t press further, just sensed an odd atmosphere between them. After driving for about ten minutes, Ye Lingran glanced around curiously and asked: "Where are we... going?"
Upon hearing this, Yun Qi paused, looking at the surroundings, realizing he unconsciously drove to Xinming Road. Snapping back to reality, Yun Qi turned the car around at the next intersection: "I’ll take you home."
"Okay..." Ye Lingran nodded in agreement, clearly feeling he was still angry but not knowing what to say. As they neared Linghua Road, she suddenly remembered and said: "By the way, last night... I think I left my lipstick at your place. If you find it today, could you bring it over tomorrow? If you don’t have time, I can come by your office to get it."
"Lipstick?"
"Yeah, I only realized I was missing a lipstick while at the studio this afternoon. I didn’t touch my bag since yesterday morning, so I figured I must have left it at your place, probably in the living room."
