Chapter 938: Chapter 833: Exciting Review_3

Old Master Zhang smiled at Zhang Zhentian and said, "You finally decided to wake up?"

Zhang Zhentian was a little confused by what Old Master Zhang said, so he asked again, "Dad, what do you mean by that? Decided to wake up? Didn’t I just drink too much and sleep for one day?"

Old Master Zhang looked at his silly son and felt utterly speechless.

"Are you sure you only slept for one day?" Old Master Zhang asked.

Zhang Zhentian heard his father say this and thought to himself, "Could it be that I slept more than one day? Maybe two days?"

Old Master Zhang gazed at his dazed son and slowly said, "You slept for three days. You really don’t know?"

"I really don’t know!"

Old Master Zhang gave Zhang Zhentian a faint smile and occasionally shook his head. Zhang Zhentian looked at his father’s expression. He could tell his father didn’t believe him at all, so he quickly said, "I seriously didn’t know!"

"You really didn’t know?" Old Master Zhang asked again.

"Dad, can’t you trust me a little more? I genuinely didn’t know I slept for three days. I just remember that day I went to look for Xia Jing, only to find her place completely empty. Later, her landlord told me Xia Jing had gone abroad days ago. After that, I went to the lakeside, then came home and drank, and eventually fell asleep. That’s about all I remember."

After finishing, Zhang Zhentian stared at his father. Old Master Zhang nodded as if he understood, then shook his head as if he didn’t. Zhang Zhentian looked at his father’s expression and felt exhausted, so he asked, "Dad, did you understand or not?"

"Sort of." Old Master Zhang didn’t feel embarrassed and answered with confidence in response to his son’s question.

When Zhang Zhentian heard his father’s reply, he had no idea what else to say to him.

Old Master Zhang looked at his son, who was speechless because of his remark, and couldn’t help but find it amusing. Zhang Zhentian said to Old Master Zhang, "Dad, I want to ask you something."

When Old Master Zhang heard Zhang Zhentian say this, he thought his son had finally figured something out. He eagerly awaited Zhang Zhentian to ask that question, the one that would let him reveal everything.

"Alright, go ahead," Old Master Zhang said expectantly, staring at Zhang Zhentian. But his son’s question disappointed him.

"I heard from Xia Jing’s landlord that Xia Jing went to the office the day she left. Is that true?"

Old Master Zhang’s anticipation was dashed. He replied nonchalantly, "Yes, that’s true. You weren’t at the office at the time."

"So Xia Jing really did go to the office. Was she there to say goodbye to me or to reconcile with me?" Zhang Zhentian muttered to himself.

Old Master Zhang overheard Zhang Zhentian muttering to himself and couldn’t resist asking, "Zhentian, what are you mumbling about over there?"

Zhang Zhentian snapped back to reality and responded, "Dad, was Xia Jing there that day to look for me?"

Zhang Zhentian stared at his father with eager eyes, hoping his father would say "yes," but also hoping he wouldn’t.

Old Master Zhang found this question hard to answer. He knew exactly what his son was thinking. If he answered "yes," Zhang Zhentian would undoubtedly blame himself for missing the one chance to keep Xia Jing from leaving. But if he said "no," Zhang Zhentian would be heartbroken, believing it was his fault that Xia Jing left without saying goodbye. It was an impossible choice. What should he say?

Zhang Zhentian looked at his hesitant father and quickly ran up to him, grabbing Old Master Zhang’s shoulders with both hands. He shook Old Master Zhang repeatedly, asking relentlessly, "Was she? Tell me, was she?"

Old Master Zhang watched his seemingly crazed son and became even more unsure of what to say.

"Dad, tell me! Was Xia Jing really there at the office looking for me?" Zhang Zhentian refused to back down, continuing to press his father.

"Zhentian, let go of me first. You’ve made me dizzy from all the shaking. Alright, alright, I’ll tell you," Old Master Zhang said, his head spinning from Zhang Zhentian’s shaking. He decided the only way out was to have him loosen his grip.

Upon hearing his father agree to tell him, Zhang Zhentian immediately let go and urged him, "Say it, hurry and say it!"
