Chapter 81: Pages Of Temptation

Ariana’s heart thudded as she moved to hide the book.

THUP

It fell to the floor before she could even shove it under her pillow. Her rolling must have pushed the book to the edge, and just as she moved toward it to retrieve it—Zavren entered. She quickly sat up, her eyes now on him.

’Don’t make things obvious... just act normal, act normal,’ she repeated in her head as Zavren’s eyes rested on her. Her heart began to thud faster as she shifted her gaze away.

"Aria, is something wrong?" Zavren asked, his expression as calm as ever.

Ariana shook her head quickly, her face flushing.

’Don’t look down... do not look,’ she reminded herself as she shifted her body closer to the edge to lie down. She silently prayed Zavren wouldn’t come around to lie beside her. She just hoped he would go to the side where the book wasn’t. She’d wait until he fell asleep, then drop the book.

Yes, that plan was great. But Zavren just stood there. She turned slightly toward him—why wasn’t he coming to lie down?

Zavren, now wearing a different black shirt and loose pants, had clearly changed from earlier spar. His hair was lightly disheveled as he walked to where Ariana lay. Her eyes widened as she stared at him. He bent down, picking up the book. Their eyes met for a brief second, and Ariana’s heart skipped.

’Please don’t open it... please,’ she begged internally.

But to her shock, Zavren moved and opened the book. Her heart began to race. He was now... reading it.

Her eyes stared at him wide-eyed, her breath caught as she saw the curve of his lips stretch into a smirk. His gaze flickered back to her, he gently closed the book.

Ariana knew he had opened it from the middle, and she hadn’t read up to that part. She could only wonder what he might’ve seen.

She shifted as Zavren moved to sit beside her, still holding the book. All Ariana wanted now was for him to drop it. If he did, she would be so glad. That was all she wanted—just drop the book.

"Come sit," Zavren said. Her eyes widened. What was this man up to?

"I’ll be reading a Chapter for you."

Ariana’s eyes flew wide open.

"You were reading before I came in, so let me read it for you, sweetheart—a little compensation for my interruption."

She knew just how tricky this husband of hers could be.

But still...

Ariana nodded. He had said a Chapter, and Chapter one wasn’t bad. Compared to the others, she could live with that. At least he’d read that one, and she’d be okay.

She moved to sit on Zavren’s lap, her back pressing gently against his chest. Zavren’s lips curled slightly as he held the book. One of his hands swept through his hair, while Ariana stared at the book—more like glared at it. This book had nearly given her a heart attack moments ago.

Her body stiffened as she felt his hand rest on her waist. He leaned in, his face now resting on her shoulder. Her heartbeat pounded as he whispered hoarsely

"I had no idea my wife reads such naughty stuff, hmm?"

Ariana’s face burned further. Now she really wondered what he had read. But her body couldn’t think straight as his hot breath fanned her neck.

Then he moved. Her body shivered lightly as his hot, wet tongue brushed gently against her earlobe. Her eyes widened as, to her surprise, he sucked on it..hard his teeth grazing her skin before his lips replaced them.

A soft gasp escaped her lips as his mouth trailed down her neck, sucking lightly enough to leave a mark. Her back arched slightly as another gasp left her lips her legs moved as her toes curled lightly.

Zavren’s lips stretched into a satisfied smirk at the way her body responded to his touch. He shifted again, whispering in a husky tone,

"Are you ready?"

Ariana’s body tingled softly. Who knew that simply reading a book would feel like this—especially when it was him reading it. Oh Lord, she just prayed that he...

"Since I’m the one reading it, I’ll be choosing the Chapter." His deep voice vibrated lightly through her.

Oh no...

Zavren began turning the pages. Ariana’s eyes rested on the book, anxious to see where he would land.

He finally stopped at Chapter 14.

Ariana read the title, "Trapped."

She hadn’t reached there yet—she had only gotten to Chapter nine before he came in. Zavren finally spoke:

"I’ll read. You listen. If you read ahead, I punish you. Remember, I’ll know if you do. So, if you want to be punished, go ahead and read," he warned.

Ariana’s lips pushed upwards softly. What was wrong with this man and punishment?

"Is that clear?" His husky voice rang out. She nodded quickly.

"Good. Now let’s begin."

Ariana took a few breaths. Zavren’s lips widened in amusement—the way she had taken that deep breath was like she was about to dive into a river. He shook his head slightly in disbelief, his eyes now focused on the book as he began to read in a deep, calm tone.

’The small town buzzed gently with light. Ana walked, a basket light on her head...’

He paused, realizing Ariana’s head was slightly tilted toward his—but that wasn’t the character’s name.

"I’ll use Ana for the female and Ren for the male," he said calmly.

Ariana nodded, but her eyes widened slightly as she realized the meaning behind his words.

Ana... was part of Ariana.

Ren... was part of Zavren.

Her hand flew to her mouth to stop the small gasp that escaped. Zavren chuckled softly—he had realized she finally caught on.

"I’ll begin now. No interruptions... unless you break the one rule," he said firmly.

Ariana still couldn’t understand this man.

Certainly not. If she read faster than him, she’d be punished? Seriously?

Zavren began.

"The small town buzzed gently with light. Ana walked, a basket light on her head. The last tomatoes, packed carefully, remained in a bag—meant for Ren."

Ariana didn’t know why she was suddenly feeling so... strange. Was it because she now realized those weren’t random names? She tried not to overthink it. Maybe Zavren just didn’t want to use the real names. Maybe these were just the ones he was comfortable with. She should even be grateful he didn’t use their full names.

He continued..

"She had no intention of giving them to him. She came for a different reason—but no one would ever guess what thoughts an innocent lady like her might be having. No one would ever think the calm and quiet Ana could have anything to do with Ren, the handsome farmer."

Ariana’s brow twitched. Handsome? There had been no handsome there. This man had added that part himself. Probably on purpose.

Still, the way he read... it was smooth. His deep voice made it feel like she was watching it all unfold live.

Zavren paused gently, his eyes flickering to her neck. Then he shifted his gaze back to the book and continued.

"She moved toward the door. Many passersby didn’t mind her going to the farmer’s hut, as they believed she was there on business. If only they knew she really was there for business..."

Zavren chuckled as Ariana’s body stilled.

She felt his lips on her earlobe again.

"Is it interesting?" he whispered.

His breath fanned her neck and ear, her toes curling slightly at the butterflies flipping wildly in her stomach. She nodded quickly.

He pulled away slightly, his tongue lightly licking his canines—now slightly elongated—as he continued.

"She knocked gently. The door opened. And just as it did, Ren’s handsome face came into view. A smile rested on her lips as she spoke,

’Mr. Ren, I brought the tomatoes. Where should I drop them?’ she asked, winking lightly."

Ariana listened, curious where this was going. Of course, Zavren knew. And he also knew she had no idea. His lips curled into a smirk as he kept reading.

"’Lady Ana, please drop them on the table in the living room,’ he said gently as he entered the room. And just as he did... he locked the door.

Ana straightened, turning to him with a sheepish smile.

’How was my acting, Mr. Ren? I’d say you should give me a reward,’ she said as she walked toward him, her hand resting on his zipper—"

Ariana was still trying to process the part where the man locked the door. So she didn’t catch the zipper until...

"She pulled the zipper down, and his trousers fell to the floor..."

Zavren’s lips curved slightly as he noticed the way her body tensed in his. Ariana’s eyes turned wide.

Zavren’s smirk deepened as he continued.

"A smile rested on Ren’s lips. ’I knew you would be coming to do it to me,’ he said, as Ana nodded, her eyes fixed on his hardness."

Zavren’s eyes danced as he noticed the way Ariana’s hands flew to her mouth.

"Ariana lowered herself and wrapped her hands around my cock before opening her mouth, her eyes on me..."

Ariana immediately sat up as she turned to him. Her face burned—she couldn’t believe what she had just heard from Zavren. Her hands were now on his mouth, shocked by his words. Her breath came rapidly, and her heart thudded wildly.

She felt him lick her palm, and she quickly pulled away. Just as she was about to move away, he held her waist in place and dropped the book.

In a calm, deep, and sultry voice, he spoke.

"Now I want you to do what Ana did to Ren."
