Mushroom Lord in the Underground City-Chapter 214 - 211: New Types of Skills
Got played!
At the edge of the Upper Area, Lin Jun found that pool of purple blood, long solidified and covered with frost.
A hidden path was exposed, winding toward the side of the castle.
At the end of the path, a corpse of a Demon Race lay on the cold stone ground outside the side door.
Unfamiliar with the terrain, Lin Jun had only ordered the Puki to block the front.
Yet, the increasingly faint purple blood trail extended out of the Upper Area, finally disappearing into the vast icy field.
But... how did it get out?
Crossing through the Middle Area, Chis clearly needed the help of a Demon Race; there can’t be another Demon Race outside the Upper Area to be consumed, right?
Thinking about it, Puki captured a juvenile Fat Beast and walked it all the way outside.
Soon after, standing outside the Underground City, looking at the struggling Fat Beast larva in the tentacles, Lin Jun understood somewhat.
They grabbed the Fat Beast all the way to the Middle Area, and when it crossed the tier, it exploded into a pulp...
This place’s boundary mechanism is too brutal!
In contrast, the Purple Crystal Dungeon’s execution by lightning is quite elegant.
So, looking at the current situation, the Upper Area blockade has failed; apart from a slight difference in magic concentration and temperature, it’s no longer within the realm of the Underground City.
The Middle Area’s blockade is still there, but who knows how effective it is. As for the Lower Area, Lin Jun hasn’t found an entrance.
This broken Underground City, making the duck at your mouth fly away!
The direction of the blood trail is roughly south, two hunting Puki controlled via Subordinate Control have been dispatched—essentially the armed version of scouting Puki.
These two Puki, amidst the snowy landscape, have only enough magic reserve to last three days; whether successful or not, this is a pursuit with no return.
Honestly, Lin Jun is just trying to chase and see, with Chis’s intelligence, it certainly won’t flee in a straight line, and in such a large area, it’s still too difficult to happen upon it by chance.
But Lin Jun is unwilling; what if they catch up!
On the other side, there’s another troubling matter—Little Pig is missing.
Out of the Fungal Network’s range for a whole day, no sign at all.
Defected, right?
This must be defection!
The worst scenario is she grabbed the Sunstone Fragment and ran out of the Underground City, a slightly better scenario is she ran away herself, and the fragment might still be somewhere in the Middle Area.
Traitor!
You obviously to her... to her...
Um...
In retrospect, Little Pig was pretty much a miserable tool person here, and the occasional reward was just a good meal; estimate if it were yourself, you’d run too.
Alright then, no problem, but if there’s a chance to catch her back, definitely use her to grow mushrooms!
Looking back at the situation then, indeed, it was too rushed.
Calm down and think, a Six Claw probably can’t get out of the Middle Area range; sooner or later, it’ll be found, shouldn’t have let Little Pig chase.
It’s just that important items were right in front, who could afford to think thoroughly?
How did it turn out, clearly winning yet feeling like losing both a wife and soldiers?
Chis truly deserved to die!
Can’t say no gains, though.
[Level Up: LV58→LV59]
[Triggered the Seven Sins of Greed]
[Plunder Skill: Claw Strike LV9→LV10]
[Plunder Skill: Magic Perception LV7→LV8]
[Plunder Skill: Magic Shield LV3→LV4]
[Plunder Skill: Petrification Beam LV2→LV3]
...
...
...
With increasing levels, the difficulty of upgrading clearly escalates, whether it’s an illusion or not, seems like Lin Jun’s level up requires more experience than others?
On skills, this batch of Chis’s quantity and quality are quite average, after disassembling them, [Cold Resistance] didn’t manage to rise even by one level, although it feels nearly there...
And Lin Jun’s first Full Level skill turned out to be [Claw Strike], which hadn’t been used much!
Lin Jun was speechless.
Had a Puki try it out, Full Level sharpness increased, but just within the expected range, nothing too significant.
However... perhaps [Claw Strike] in combination with [Steel Bone] could maybe mass "produce" decent blades?
The length a Puki can grow would barely suffice for a dagger.
And [Steel Bone] doesn’t have a stable supply channel, it’s only Level 4.
Compared to this plain melee skill with little expectation, Lin Jun had high hopes for [Split Body Level 1] acquired earlier.
This was the divine skill Chis used for playing Golden Cicada shedded shell right under Lin Jun’s nose!
Tried installing it onto a Puki, an unexpected situation occurred—the skill disappeared from the main body!
???
Unprecedented situation!
What does it mean, can this skill be taken back?
Won’t it just be wasted?
[Race: Mushroom-Puki]
[Skill: Magic Storage Level 7, Split Body Level 1]
Staring at this Puki, Lin Jun hesitated for a while but still had it use the skill.
The magic on Puki was consumed significantly, more than accelerating the production of another Puki.
[Race: Mushroom-Puki (Split Body)]
[Skill: Split Body Level 1]
A magical event occurred, the original Puki’s [Split Body] disappeared!
Attempted to activate again, the attributes of the two Puki were instantly swapped, perfectly replicating the scene of Chis’s escape. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
But tried to swap again and couldn’t.
So... this thing is a consumable survival skill?
Use it up, and it’s gone?
And now Lin Jun used it on Puki itself...
Lin Jun felt like swearing!
Recalling, the [Split Body] skill on Heart of Chis was at LV3, but the one left for Lin Jun was only LV1.
Does this mean that using it once reduces a level?
After prolonged deliberation, Lin Jun decided to try to regain the skill.
Trying to increase proficiency by dismantling skills from one’s own Puki through Greed was something Lin Jun had experimented with at a low level.
The result, of course, didn’t work.
This sort of bug of ascending by stepping on one’s own foot naturally doesn’t exist.
But now this [Split Body] skill was obviously different, besides Lin Jun couldn’t think of another way to recover it, it’s like treating a dead horse as a living one.
The mycelium enveloped the Puki split body, it soon melted into the fungal mat.
Lin Jun opened his panel, flipping directly to the bottom layer of the skill column for search.
[Skill: ... Split Body Level 1 ...]
Truly recovered!
Honestly speaking, if this skill was wasted, Lin Jun feared an instant breakdown!
This time, without going through Puki, directly used by the main body.
Originally thought nurturing the main body would be difficult and time-consuming, but the situation was completely contrary.
Almost in the instant the thought flashed by, consuming a fraction of negligible magic power, a nearby Green Mushroom grew another almost identical Green Mushroom.
The consumed magic was even less than the Puki splitting...
What does it mean?
Is it hinting that the main body’s "value" is inferior to a Puki?
[Race: Mushroom-Mushroom Lord (Split Body)]
[Skill: Split Body Level 1]
Currently, it seems, this split body unit gave Lin Jun a vibe very similar to an individual from Subordinate Control.
Testing the effects.
Transfer... disassemble... split again...
Emmmm...
Is this considered stuck in a bug?
Originally [Split Body] as a consumable skill should be roughly positioned as a precious revival coin, but it’s usable repeatedly for Lin Jun?
If it can be recovered, does it mean in encounters with enemies, a split body can be killed, and as long as recovery is found, this skill can be continued?
Doesn’t need to wait for enemies to kill, shamelessly, seeing the enemy come, just decisively transfer then let the split body dissolve on the spot?
Following this logic, as long as not insta-killed or forced to where no chance of releasing a split body... am I not near invincible?
Simply put... I’m invincible?!
