Multiple Personalities-Chapter 486: Xiaocan Reappears, the Source

She is precisely Li Baiyu's alter ego, Green Xiaocan.

Lin Xiaocan's eyes revealed a sense of determination and coldness as she slowly walked to a piano that had appeared out of thin air and gracefully sat down. Then her fingers danced lightly over the keys, and the melodious piano sound echoed throughout the cave.

The piano sound seemed to possess a magical power; the originally violent Monster heard the melody and gradually slowed its movements, a trace of confusion and pain appearing in its eyes.

Shen Jingqi said, "Lin Xiaocan's piano music can affect the Monster's mind, throwing it into chaos."

As the music persisted, the Monster's body began to tremble, emitting cries of pain as it struggled to escape the music's control. However, Lin Xiaocan's hands, as if guided by an invisible force, continued to play quickly over the keys. The music grew more intense, as if tearing apart the Monster's soul.

Finally, the Monster could no longer bear it, letting out one last roar before collapsing heavily to the ground, motionless.

Lin Xiaocan stopped playing and slowly stood up, her body beginning to turn transparent. "My energy is almost depleted; it seems I'm about to disappear too." Her voice was gentle and ethereal.

"Lin Xiaocan!" Shen Jingqi called out.

Lin Xiaocan smiled faintly, "Don't be sad; my disappearance means that Li Baiyu's alter egos are merging with her. This is a good thing for Li Baiyu." After speaking, her body turned into a beam of white light and vanished into the air.

Li Baiyu slowly awoke.

Shen Jingqi looked at Li Baiyu, "Senior, your alter egos have all merged with you."

Li Baiyu nodded, her eyes flickering with complex emotions, "Yes, but it seems there's a bigger secret behind all of this."

"A bigger secret?" Shen Jingqi asked, puzzled.

Li Baiyu took a deep breath, "I can feel a mysterious force surging within me, guiding me to a certain place to do something. Moreover, the disappearance of Lucky Sister, Haochuan, and Lin Xiaocan, and these suddenly appearing Monsters, make me feel that none of this is a coincidence."

Shen Jingqi frowned, "What should we do then?"

Li Baiyu pondered for a moment, "We must find the source of this force and uncover the truth behind everything."

"But where should we start looking?" Uncle Li asked.

Li Baiyu closed her eyes, concentrating to sense the direction of that mysterious force. After a while, she opened her eyes and pointed to the depths of the cave, "There, I can feel the energy coming from deeper within the cave."

Shen Jingqi and Uncle Li exchanged a glance, then nodded firmly, "Okay, we'll go with you."

The three of them cautiously made their way into the depths of the cave. The cave was filled with a damp and putrid smell, and the walls flickered with eerie lights, as if hiding countless dangers.

As they continued to go deeper, the temperature around them dropped, and a thin mist hung in the air. Suddenly, the sound of trickling water came from ahead.

"It seems there's a water source up ahead," Shen Jingqi said.

They quickened their pace towards the sound of the water. Soon, a massive underground lake appeared before them. The lake's surface was as calm as a mirror, reflecting the light from the surrounding walls, making it appear especially mysterious.

"Could there be any danger in this lake?" Uncle Li asked cautiously.

Li Baiyu shook her head, "I don't know, but I can feel the mysterious force on the lake's opposite side."

Shen Jingqi looked around and noticed several old and worn boats by the lake's edge. "We can use these boats to get across."

The three of them carefully boarded the boats and paddled towards the opposite shore. When they reached the middle of the lake, the once-calm surface suddenly rippled. Immediately after, a massive Water Monster emerged from the lake. Its body was like a giant python, but its head resembled a crocodile, opening its bloody jaws to bite at them.

"Watch out!" Shen Jingqi shouted, desperately paddling to evade the Monster's attack.

The Water Monster launched attack after attack, causing the boat to rock violently with each impact, threatening to overturn at any moment. Li Baiyu clung tightly to the side of the boat, her heart filled with fear and despair.

"Are we going to die here?" she thought.

Just then, Li Baiyu's body suddenly emitted a strong glow. The light was as dazzling as the sun, illuminating the entire lake. The Water Monster, blinded by the light, let out a cry of pain before quickly diving back into the depths.

As the light slowly faded, Li Baiyu gazed at her own hands in surprise, "What's happening? Why is my body emitting such light?"

Shen Jingqi and Uncle Li also looked at her in shock. "Senior, just how many secrets are you hiding?" Shen Jingqi asked.

Li Baiyu shook her head, "I don't know either, but I can feel that this power is protecting us."

They continued paddling to the far side of the lake and finally landed safely ashore. Upon landing, they discovered a massive stone door before them. The stone door was engraved with strange runes and patterns, exuding a mysterious aura.

"This stone door should be the source of the mysterious force," Li Baiyu said.

Shen Jingqi stepped forward and tried to push open the stone door. However, the door didn't budge, as if sealed by an invisible power.

"What do we do? The stone door won't open," Shen Jingqi said anxiously.

Li Baiyu closed her eyes and once again concentrated on sensing the mysterious force. After a while, she opened her eyes and pointed to a rune on the stone door, "This rune is the key; we need to find a way to activate it."

The three of them began searching for clues around the stone door. They found some strange grooves and patterns on the wall beside the stone door, seemingly connected to the runes on the door.

"Could these grooves and patterns be for placing something?" Uncle Li speculated.

Shen Jingqi nodded, "It's possible. Let's look around; maybe we can find something that matches."

They carefully searched around and finally found some oddly-shaped stones in a nearby corner. The shapes and sizes of these stones perfectly matched the grooves next to the stone door.

"These must be the stones," Shen Jingqi said excitedly.

They took the stones back to the stone door and placed each one into the grooves. When the last stone was set, the runes on the stone door suddenly lit up, emitting a dazzling light. Immediately after, the stone door slowly opened.

A powerful aura rushed out from inside the door, sending a shiver through the three of them. They cautiously stepped through the stone door into a vast cavern. At the center of the cavern was a giant crystal ball, radiating bright and colorful light as if containing endless energy.

"Is this the source of the mysterious force?" Li Baiyu exclaimed in surprise.
