Multiple Personalities-Chapter 484: Recovery
Haochuan continued fighting the enemies. There was a determined resolve in his eyes, as if telling the enemies that he would not be easily defeated.
After a fierce battle, Haochuan finally drove the enemies to a crushing defeat. The enemies fled in all directions, leaving behind a battlefield in disarray. But Haochuan also sustained some injuries; his face was somewhat pale, and his breathing became rapid.
"Haochuan, are you alright?" Shen Jingqi hurried over, asking with concern, gently supporting Haochuan's arm.
Haochuan shook his head, managing a faint smile, "I'm fine, just a minor injury, a little rest and I'll be good." His voice was somewhat weak, but still full of determination.
At that moment, Haochuan suddenly felt dizzy, his body swayed, almost collapsing. Shen Jingqi, quick-eyed and agile, caught hold of him.
"What's wrong?" Shen Jingqi asked anxiously.
Haochuan shook his head, trying to stay conscious, "I'm fine, maybe just too tense earlier." Yet, his face grew increasingly pale, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
Shen Jingqi looked at Haochuan, his brows slightly furrowed, "His body seems a bit unusual, possibly an effect of a personality switch. We need to find a safe place for him to rest properly."
Everyone nodded, searching for a place to hide. Finally, they discovered an abandoned factory not far away. The factory's door was half-open, filled with a scent of antiquity.
"Let's go in here." Shen Jingqi said, leading the way into the factory. Everyone followed him inside.
Inside the factory, the light was dim, dust and debris everywhere. They found a relatively clean corner and let Haochuan lie down.
Soon, Li Baiyu awoke, closing her eyes to regulate her breathing.
Shen Jingqi and Uncle Li guarded vigilantly nearby, preventing any further enemy pursuit. Their eyes were full of alertness, always on guard to the slightest movement around them.
Time ticked by second by second, Li Baiyu's face still pale, her breathing somewhat weak. Shen Jingqi looked at her, filled with worry. "Will she be alright?" he asked softly, his voice shaking slightly.
"Her body is very weak, she needs to recover her energy quickly. But at this moment, we don't know how to help her." Uncle Li's eyes also revealed a hint of helplessness.
Just then, a sound of footsteps came from outside the factory. Everyone instantly grew tense, their bodies bracing for a new battle.
"Could those enemies be coming again?" Uncle Li whispered, his voice full of alertness.
Shen Jingqi shook his head, "Not sure, but we can't let our guard down." He gripped his weapon tightly, his eyes showing a firm resolve.
The footsteps got closer, their hearts beating faster. Suddenly, the factory's door was pushed open, and a group of black-clothed men appeared before them. They all wore masks, obscuring their faces, emanating a powerful aura.
"Who are you?" Shen Jingqi asked loudly, his voice filled with wariness and defiance.
The leading black-clothed man laughed coldly, "Who we are doesn't matter, what matters is, none of you will leave here alive today." His voice was low and hoarse, as if coming from Hell.
At that moment, Haochuan appeared again, standing up and looking coldly at the black-clothed men, "Just you?" His eyes were full of disdain and confidence.
The black-clothed men said nothing, just waved their hand. Suddenly, a group of them charged towards everyone. Their movements were swift and agile, ghost-like.
Haochuan, Shen Jingqi, and Uncle Li immediately engaged the black-clothed men in a fierce battle. The factory was instantly filled with the clashing of blades and the shouts of battle.
The fight intensified, Haochuan and the others gradually getting overwhelmed. The black-clothed men's strength was formidable, and their coordination seamless, launching continuous attacks, leaving Haochuan and the others struggling to cope.
"We can't go on like this, we need to find a way to break through." Shen Jingqi shouted, his voice filled with urgency.
Haochuan nodded, his eyes revealing calmness and decisiveness. "Everyone, stick close to me, we'll break out over there." He pointed to a corner of the factory.
Everyone nodded, following closely behind Haochuan, racing towards the factory corner. The black-clothed men seemed to sense their intentions and surrounded them, trying to prevent their break-out.
Haochuan let out a roar, emanating a powerful aura. Like a tiger descending the mountain, he charged at the black-clothed men, his punches and kicks falling like raindrops, driving them back.
Shen Jingqi and Uncle Li were not to be outdone, sticking closely behind Haochuan, engaging in a life-or-death struggle with the black-clothed men. Finally, they broke through the encirclement and ran outside the factory.
The black-clothed men pursued relentlessly, their footsteps echoing in the air. Everyone ran desperately, not daring to stop for a moment.
After running for an unknown period, they finally shook off the pursuit of the black-clothed men. They stopped, panting heavily. Their bodies were covered with wounds, blood staining their clothes red.
"We finally shook them off." Uncle Li said, his voice filled with exhaustion and relief.
Shen Jingqi nodded, "But we can't let our guard down, they could come again at any moment." His eyes revealed a mixture of vigilance and concern.
Uncle Li looked at the once again recovering Li Baiyu, "We must quickly find a safe place for her to recover her energy."
Everyone nodded, searching for a hiding place. Finally, they found an abandoned cottage in the woods. Though the doors and windows were shabby, they still provided some shelter.
"Here will do." Shen Jingqi said, leading the way into the cottage. Everyone followed inside.
The cottage was filled with a damp smell, dust and cobwebs everywhere. They gathered some hay, spread it on the ground, and let Li Baiyu lie down.
Shen Jingqi and Uncle Li set up some simple traps around the cottage to ward off any returning enemies.
Time passed by second by second, Li Baiyu's face still pale, her breathing somewhat weak.
"What's wrong with her body? Why is she recovering so slowly?" Shen Jingqi thought to himself, his brows tightly furrowed.
At that moment, a strange sound suddenly came from outside the cottage. That sound was like wailing ghosts and howling wolves, causing a chill down their spines. Everyone immediately tensed up, their bodies ready to meet a new danger.
"What's that sound?" Uncle Li whispered, his voice full of caution.
Shen Jingqi shook his head, "Not sure, but we can't let our guard down." He gripped his weapon tightly, his eyes revealing a firm determination.
