Shen Jingqi shouted loudly, swinging his long spear as he charged into the group of assassins. His spear was like a dragon emerging from the sea, each swing bringing a storm of blood and gore. Allies also drew their weapons, engaging in a fierce battle with the assassins.

However, the number of assassins kept increasing, continuously pouring in from outside the factory, surrounding Li Baiyu and the others completely. Gradually, they began to feel overwhelmed and trapped in dire straits.

Jiangnan City also felt the pressure; he shouted loudly, the light around him flaring brightly once more. His sword swung faster, forming shadows that drove the surrounding assassins back. "Li Baiyu, follow me closely!" Jiangnan City yelled, then rushed towards a corner of the factory.

Li Baiyu followed without hesitation; Shen Jingqi and their allies also hurriedly followed them. Under Jiangnan City's lead, they fought their way through, finally breaking through the assassins' encirclement and dashed into a warehouse within the factory.

The warehouse was filled with various clutter, appearing extremely messy. Li Baiyu and the others stood back-to-back, vigilantly watching the warehouse entrance to prevent the assassins from charging in again. "What do we do now? We're trapped here." Shen Jingqi asked, breathing heavily.

Li Baiyu looked at Jiangnan City, asking, "Do you have any ideas? Didn't you say you'd protect me?"

Jiangnan City smiled slightly and said, "Don't worry, I have a plan." Saying this, he walked to a corner of the warehouse and activated a hidden switch. With a rumbling noise, the warehouse floor suddenly cracked open to reveal a large hole — a secret passage appeared before them.

"Quick, get in!" Jiangnan City shouted, then jumped into the passage first.

Li Baiyu and the others did not hesitate, following Jiangnan City and jumping into the passage. Inside, the passage was pitch black, only the sound of their footsteps and breath could be heard. They walked along the path not knowing how long it took, until finally seeing a faint light.

"The exit is just ahead." Jiangnan City said, then quickened his pace.

When they emerged from the passage, they found themselves in a strange place. It was a desolate desert, with the scorching sun looming high, baking the earth. In the distance, a giant fortress towered in the desert, resembling a mysterious maze.

"Where is this?" Shen Jingqi asked, bewildered by the scene. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

Jiangnan City looked at the fortress and said, "This is Li Yuanshin's secret base, and where we ultimately need to face. Only by entering the fortress and finding Li Yuanshin's true self can we resolve this."

Li Baiyu's heart tightened, knowing that the road ahead would be even more daunting. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's get inside quickly." Li Baiyu said, his eyes filled with determination.

Jiangnan City nodded, saying, "Alright, but everyone, be careful — there are dangers and traps in this fortress."

They followed Jiangnan City towards the fortress. As they approached, they found the fortress's gates closed, surrounded by a layer of mysterious shield. The shield emitted a blue light, seemingly warning them not to approach.

"How do we break the shield?" Shen Jingqi asked, frowning at the shield.

Jiangnan City stepped forward, carefully studying the shield. "This is a magic shield set by Li Yuanshin, it can only be opened with specific methods," he said, then pulled out a crystal ball from his pocket.

The crystal ball emitted a soft glow. Jiangnan City placed the crystal ball in front of the shield, muttering words. As he chanted, the crystal ball's glow grew brighter, causing the shield to ripple.

"Now's the chance!" Jiangnan City shouted, then pushed the crystal ball against the shield with force. Upon collision, it emitted a massive roar. Subsequently, the shield opened a gap, which expanded until it completely vanished.

"Quick, get inside!" Jiangnan City called out loudly, charging into the fortress first.

Li Baiyu and the others followed without hesitation. Inside the fortress, it was eerie and terrifying, a pungent smell permeated. The walls flickered with strange flames, as if whispering the secrets of this place.

They cautiously advanced, wary of triggering any traps with each step. Suddenly, a deep roar echoed from the front, followed by a massive monster emerging from the darkness.

This monster was large, standing over three meters tall. Its body was covered in thick scales, glinting with a metallic luster. Its eyes glowed with a red light, like burning flames. Its mouth was filled with sharp teeth, chilling one to the bone.

"What kind of monster is this?" Shen Jingqi asked in terror.

Jiangnan City glanced at the monster and said, "This is the guardian beast created by Li Yuanshin, extremely powerful. Everyone, handle it carefully."

The monster roared, charging at them quickly. In a blink, it was upon them. Li Baiyu side-stepped, evading the monster's attack, while slashing at the monster's leg with a dagger. The dagger hit the scales, creating a harsh sound, but caused no harm.

"Its scales are too hard; our weapons can't hurt it," Shen Jingqi shouted, as his spear also bounced off the monster.

Jiangnan City furrowed his brows, contemplating a strategy. Suddenly, he thought of something. "Everyone, aim for its eyes, that's its weak spot," Jiangnan City shouted.

Upon hearing Jiangnan City, everyone adjusted their attack direction, targeting the monster's eyes. The monster sensed danger and swung its claws fiercely, trying to block their attacks. But they nimbly dodged, persistently seeking opportunities.

Finally, Li Baiyu found an opening. Taking advantage of the moment when the monster swung its claws, he dashed forward, driving the dagger deep into the monster's eye. The monster roared in agony, frenetically flailing its claws, shattering everything around.

The group took the chance to retreat, keeping their distance from the monster. After struggling for a moment, the monster finally fell to the ground, motionless.

"Phew, it's finally taken care of." Shen Jingqi exhaled heavily.

Li Baiyu looked at Jiangnan City and said, "Thanks to you, otherwise we wouldn't know how to deal with this monster."

Jiangnan City smiled faintly and said, "No need to be polite, as I said, I'm here to protect you. Let's keep going, ahead, unknown dangers await us."
