Multiple Personalities-Chapter 446: The Giant Entity
Deep within the cave, they felt a powerful Dark Power, a force that made them shiver.
"Senior, this should be the lair of that evil force," Shen Jingqi stood at the entrance of the eerie cave, his gaze fixed on the endless darkness inside, filled with determination. His hands unconsciously clenched into fists, knuckles turning white from the force, and his body leaned slightly forward, as if ready to charge into the unknown danger at any moment.
Li Baiyu stood beside him, her expression equally grim and resolute. She nodded slightly, her voice steady and strong: "Let's be careful. We must find the core of this evil force and destroy it. This is our last chance to save the world; we can't afford any mistakes." Her hand instinctively reached for the weapon at her waist, a short sword emitting a mysterious glow, its blade covered with ancient runes, seeming to contain infinite power.
The two exchanged a glance, needing no further words, they stepped into the cave in unspoken agreement. The cave was filled with a nauseating stench of decay, prompting them to wrinkle their noses. Eerie glows flickered on the walls, like countless eyes watching them from the darkness. With every step, the ground trembled slightly underfoot, as if some giant Monster lay sleeping below, ready to awaken at the sound of their footsteps.
"Senior, there's something indescribably sinister about this place; we need to be extra cautious," Shen Jingqi lowered his voice, looking warily around. His heartbeat instinctively quickened, and beads of sweat appeared on his forehead, yet his gaze remained steadfast, showing no sign of retreat.
Li Baiyu frowned slightly, responding softly, "I feel it too. This evil force is stronger than we imagined, but we have no way back, only the forward path." Her footsteps were light and steady, each step carefully placed on the ground, wary of triggering deadly traps.
Suddenly, a low roar rose from the depths of the cave, the sound growing louder, as if an ancient beast was charging toward them. Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu tensed up immediately, gripping their weapons tightly, bodies taut, ready to face the impending danger.
"Senior, what is that sound? It sounds terrifying," Shen Jingqi's voice had a tremor to it, but his eyes still burned with fighting spirit. Images of terrifying Monsters flashed through his mind, his heartbeat escalating uncontrollably.
Li Baiyu took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down, "Don't panic. No matter what it is, we have to face it. Remember, we're here to save the world; we can't be defeated by fear." Her words were like a warm current, flowing into Shen Jingqi's heart, calming him somewhat.
At that moment, a group of shadows surged from both sides of the cave. These shadows were even more terrifying than those they had encountered before, their bodies twisted and deformed, seemingly condensed from darkness and evil. They emitted a nauseatingly evil aura that made one want to retch. Their eyes glowed blood-red, like burning flames, filled with murderous intent and madness.
"It's you again!" the leading shadow said coldly. His voice was low and hoarse, like a curse from Hell, sending chills down one's spine. His body was taller and stronger than the other shadows, wielding a massive scythe, the blade of which glinted coldly, seemingly able to cut through anything.
Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu stood close together, their eyes filled with vigilance and determination. "Hmph, today we will completely destroy your evil force and save this world!" Shen Jingqi shouted loudly, his voice echoing through the cave, as if declaring war on the Dark Power.
Li Baiyu said nothing, but the grip on her weapon revealed her determination. She knew this would be an exceptionally difficult battle, but they had no choice but to fight with everything they had.
The leading shadow let out a wild laugh, "Just you two youngsters? Brothers, go, tear them to pieces!" At his command, the shadows surged toward them like a tide.
Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu quickly separated, each facing a group of shadows. Shen Jingqi swung his longsword, a flurry of Sword Qi slashing toward the shadows. His movements were agile and swift, each swing taking down a shadow. But the shadows were numerous and cunning, constantly attacking Shen Jingqi from all directions, making him struggle to cope.
"Senior, be careful!" Shen Jingqi shouted, seeing several shadows taking the opportunity to sneak up behind Li Baiyu. His heart tightened, disregarding the danger around him, and he charged toward Li Baiyu.
Li Baiyu also sensed the danger behind her. She swiftly turned, her short sword tracing a graceful arc, forcing the shadows back. But just then, another shadow rushed at her from the side, its blade aimed straight at her chest.
"Senior!" Shen Jingqi shouted in terror, pushing his speed to the limit, but it seemed he was too late to stop the fatal blow. His mind went blank, feeling as if his own heart had stopped.
Just as the blade was about to pierce Li Baiyu, she suddenly twisted her body, dodging the attack at an incredible angle. Simultaneously, her short sword struck the shadow, eliciting a shriek before it dissolved into a puff of black smoke.
"That was close!" Shen Jingqi breathed a sigh of relief. He ran to Li Baiyu's side, asking concernedly, "Senior, are you okay?"
Li Baiyu shook her head, smiling, "I'm fine. Stay focused, keep fighting!" Her eyes were filled with determination and confidence, as if the recent perilous moment hadn't affected her at all.
The two dove back into the battle, their coordination becoming increasingly seamless. Shen Jingqi distracted the shadows, while Li Baiyu sought opportunities for lethal strikes. Through their combined efforts, the number of shadows gradually dwindled, but their stamina was also running out.
"Senior, this can't go on. Our stamina won't hold much longer," Shen Jingqi said breathlessly. He was already wounded in multiple places, his clothes stained with blood, but he gritted his teeth and persevered.
Li Baiyu felt tired too, but she knew they couldn't give up. "Hang in there a bit longer. I sense the core of this evil force nearby. Once we find and destroy it, we can win this battle." Her eyes gleamed with hope, as if she could see the dawn of victory.
Just then, the leading shadow let out a strange laugh, "You think you can defeat us this way? Come out, my ultimate weapon!" As he spoke, a massive roar echoed from the depths of the cave, as if a gigantic Monster was awakening.
