Chapter 835: Chapter 835: Pregnancy Test Results

Back in school, Flora Lane and Seraphina Vaughn were the ones known for speeding, so when Seraphina asked this question, Flora didn’t feel too embarrassed, more puzzled: "Why are you asking this?"

Seraphina didn’t know how to explain and casually found a reason: "Just curious."

Flora thought for a moment and replied, "About three or four times, I guess?"

Upon hearing Flora’s answer, Seraphina tried to comfort herself, thinking it shouldn’t be that easy to get pregnant when Flora added, "But this is quite mystical. Audrey and her husband wanted a child for a long time, and it took over half a year for her to conceive. But Sister Phoebe reportedly got lucky on the first try, so it’s unpredictable."

Seraphina couldn’t even process what Flora said next; her mind was stuck on Flora’s phrase, "Got lucky on the first try."

This "luck" is the last thing she wants to have!

"Why are you even asking such things? You wouldn’t actually..." Flora teased Seraphina with a joking look. Seraphina snapped back to reality and rolled her eyes: "What are you thinking? I was just suddenly curious about it, hurry up and cook! I’m starving."

Flora replied, "Get a bowl and serve yourself!"

Throughout the afternoon, Seraphina was restless because of this matter and even lost interest in playing cards.

Now, she just wants to go to the hospital for a check-up, hoping to rule out this possibility soon for peace of mind.

Yet, she’s also terribly afraid that the check-up won’t provide the comforting result she hopes for.

What if she really is pregnant with that man’s child?

That would be so distressing!

In the evening, Simon Sue and his friends held an "outdoor concert."

Originally, it was Audrey’s suggestion for Simon to sing a song to liven things up, but it unexpectedly drew a crowd, and Simon was even recognized by fans, leading everyone camping nearby to join in the fun.

Fortunately, this wasn’t a popular tourist spot; otherwise, a larger crowd might have caused chaos.

But because there were more people, it felt lively, the atmosphere was joyful, and everyone had a great time.

Seraphina, however, was sitting alone at the table, burdened with thoughts, researching pregnancy topics on her phone.

Like early pregnancy signs, prenatal check-up processes, miscarriage risks, and so on.

She even searched "how likely is it to get pregnant from a one-night stand."

But searching these things couldn’t soothe her anxiety; she must go to a hospital.

Thus, Seraphina concocted an excuse and went to discuss it with Audrey and the others.

She suggested going to the city’s music bar street the next day, proposing a trip to play in the city.

Since they were already on holiday and keen to explore new places, Audrey and the others were interested in going to the city, none opposed Seraphina’s suggestion, and they were soon looking up famous music bars in the area on their phones.

After the concert concluded, Audrey and the others prepared to take their kids back to the camper to sleep.

Seraphina, weighted with thoughts, lost interest in playing cards and went straight back to the camper.

Since realizing the possibility of being pregnant, her imagination seemed to affect her whole body, making it feel out of place.

As she was heading back to the camper, she coincidentally encountered Julian Bishop standing outside making a phone call.

Julian’s car was parked next to the one where she was staying, so he was simply stepping out of the car to stretch.

Yet, when their eyes met, Seraphina rolled her eyes as if Julian’s presence here was a mistake, and she climbed into the camper with an expression of utter disdain.

After Julian finished his phone conversation, he put down his phone and stared at the camper door for a few seconds.

Inwardly, he was particularly puzzled—why did Seraphina dislike him so much?

He genuinely wanted to find an opportunity to ask her directly.

The next day, after breakfast, they set off for the city.

The scenery along the way was stunning; whenever they saw something beautiful, they’d stop to take photos.

With all the stopping and starting, a journey that would normally take a little more than an hour stretched into over two hours.

It was nearly lunchtime by the time they arrived in the city. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Planning to stay for a while, they found a hotel near the bar street.

Since last night, Seraphina had been fixated on going to the hospital for a check-up; she was so worried about it that she barely slept.

After lunch at the hotel, she made up a reason about going out to find some cute guys, left alone, and took a cab directly to the nearest hospital.

She waited anxiously for over two hours at the hospital before finally receiving the results.

"You’re Ms. Vaughn, correct?"

Seraphina walked over to the opposite side of the receptionist and sat down, nodding and saying, "Yes, what are the results?"

The doctor adjusted his glasses and asked, "When was your last marital intercourse?"

Hearing the word "marital," Seraphina was taken aback momentarily before answering, "About ten days ago."

Doctor: "How’s your menstrual cycle?"

Seraphina: "It’s three or four days late compared to last month."

Doctor: "Here’s the thing, since the gap is relatively short and the test wasn’t done on an empty stomach, the results might not be very accurate. It’s generally recommended to do the test after a week of missed periods. But if you can’t wait, I suggest you come back tomorrow morning on an empty stomach for a more accurate result."

Seraphina immediately followed up, "What are the current test results?"

Doctor: "Currently, it looks like you’re not pregnant, but don’t be discouraged; come back for another test tomorrow morning, it might yield good results."

Seraphina actually prefers the current findings.

Nevertheless, the doctor said it’s too early; even if she is pregnant, it might not show up, so this result doesn’t entirely alleviate her worries. She plans to come back again in the morning.

They came specifically for the bars here, so as night fell, Audrey and the group went to a pre-booked small bar.

Booking the whole place was Shane Warner’s suggestion; otherwise, he wouldn’t have allowed Audrey to go to such a place pregnant.

He initially wanted to refuse, but seeing Audrey’s expectant look and her playful tone when suggesting going to a bar, he couldn’t bring himself to say no.

So he thought of booking out the place.

Luckily, there were already quite a few people in Audrey’s group, so even with the place booked out, it didn’t feel empty.

Faye Xavier found a bunch of young folks somewhere, and suddenly the place was lively.

Audrey and Phoebe King each held a glass of juice, watching Barry Barrett and Flora Lane each holding a glass of red wine, lamenting that even at a bar, they couldn’t drink.

Meanwhile, Seraphina seemed to be there physically, but her mind wandered elsewhere, holding the glass in her hand yet not drinking a drop.
