Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 788: Camping
Audrey Sutton looked at the scene, feeling both angry and helpless.
Last night she told him to go to bed early, but he refused no matter what; now he could fall asleep anywhere.
She knew that Shane Warner wouldn’t be able to sleep so soundly in a place like this unless he was extremely exhausted.
However, she thought about how Shane, despite being so tired, still carried Anna downstairs in the morning to avoid disturbing her rest.
Sighing helplessly, Audrey walked over, picked up Anna, wiped her drool with a wet tissue, and took Anna outside to the courtyard to bask in the sun.
Not long after, Shane woke up. Both of them hadn’t had breakfast, and were starving, so after changing clothes upstairs, they headed straight out to find a restaurant for a meal. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
While eating, Shane asked about what Audrey didn’t manage to tell him last night.
Audrey then explained everything: "Now that spring has arrived, the weather is nice and the scenery is beautiful, we’ve been discussing renting a few RVs to go camping together."
Shane pondered for a moment and asked, "Who do you mean by ’we’?"
Audrey fed a small spoonful of porridge to Anna, and listed: "Sister Phoebe, Brother Seraphina, Flora, my sister-in-law, and then you call Brother Xavier and the others. The more the merrier, it’s livelier to head out together."
Shane: "Calling all of them out means we won’t be earning money for baby formula?"
Audrey chuckled and said, "Our son can have porridge now."
Shane thought for a while, considering his upcoming schedule.
Audrey assumed he was hesitant and not very willing to go, so she pouted and said: "Either way, I’ve decided. If you really don’t have time, I’ll go with Sister Phoebe and the others. We’re going to several places this time; the trip is planned for over half a month. Perfect for you to have some peace."
Shane naturally caught Audrey’s slightly sarcastic tone, and calmly said: "Perfect, I don’t have much going on in the next half month. Since Anna was born, we haven’t gone on a trip together in a long time; it’d be nice to have a getaway."
Upon hearing this, Audrey immediately beamed with joy and enthusiastically said to Shane, "Then ask Brother Xavier and see if they’re available, and invite Mr. Bishop too. I always feel like you never include Mr. Bishop in any activities. Once we confirm the headcount, I’ll look into renting several RVs."
Shane took a couple bites of food, slowly wiped his mouth with a napkin, and casually asked Audrey: "Is this where the two million went?"
Audrey paused in feeding Anna porridge, smiled and nodded, "Yes, I rented a few RVs and paid the deposit. There’s still a lot of camping equipment to get, so I’ll buy them and then settle with you."
Understanding the purpose of the two million, Shane didn’t doubt further, considering the matter successfully dealt with.
Shane said he had some things to handle at the company, which should take about three days.
Audrey planned to use those three days to prepare for the trip.
When she got home, Audrey mentioned the idea to her mom, originally hoping to have the elders join them. Hazel Yates outright rejected the idea without even thinking, saying: "For you, it’s a trip. For me, it’s like wandering outside aimlessly, exhausting all day long. I’d rather stay at home, do a facial, and watch some TV series."
Six, coming down from upstairs, echoed: "Exactly, you all seem too idle, causing such a big fuss!"
Right after Six spoke, Phoebe King mischievously asked Hazel Yates, "Mom, is Lana free recently? Why not let her join us?"
Upon hearing "Lana," Norman Sutton’s expression immediately changed, showing concern despite trying to feign indifference.
Since the ridiculous proposal last time, the two of them hadn’t met again.
Norman had gone to The Yates Family mansion but was told by mom that Lana went out of town for studies, and would be back in some time.
Not sure if she’s genuinely at school or deliberately avoiding him.
Upon hearing Phoebe’s suggestion, Hazel Yates quickly agreed, "I’ll call Lana later. It’ll be good for her to go with you to relax. She seemed burdened since returning from her studies out of town, likely due to stress. Going out for a break should relieve her. It’s better for her to spend time with you young folks rather than staying cooped up at the mansion."
Upon hearing this, Norman immediately felt this was a good chance. If Lana decided to go, he could join and observe her mood before making any plans.
Hazel spoke and took out her phone to call Lana. From the call, it was evident that Lana initially refused, probably because of Norman’s harsh words at the restaurant before.
But after Hazel coaxed Lana a bit over the phone, Lana eventually agreed.
Phoebe King seized the chance to tease Norman standing on the staircase: "Now we wonder if some people are still feeling idle."
Norman grumbled, "Coincidentally, I don’t have any competitions recently. There’s not much to do at home, so I’ll begrudgingly join you, preventing you from getting lost, you brainless bunch of women."
"Where are we going?" Scott Sutton, usually waking up in the afternoon, surprisingly got up today before lunch, already dressed for going out.
Audrey promptly invited Scott: "We’re going camping! You should come with us, too, big brother."
Scott raised an eyebrow, "Camping? Haven’t done that since a school-organized trip ages ago. Quite nostalgic. When are we going?"
Audrey: "The day after tomorrow."
Scott nodded, "OK, I’ll just wrap up things at my shop."
Hazel laughed, "Fourth one is the freest. See, the other brothers can’t just go whenever they want."
Scott: "Mom, you sound like I’m really idle, but my work is very demanding too."
Hazel: "You do turn day and night upside down, which is tiring. But where are you planning to go at this hour?"
Scott laughed as he headed toward the entrance, "New stock at the shop—I need to check on it."
Hazel: "Will you come back for lunch?"
Scott thought for a moment, "Probably not. I’ll be back for dinner."
After saying that, Scott changed his shoes and left the house.
The fourth one always had no scandalous affairs, so no one doubted whether he genuinely had business.
Scott indeed drove to his shop first. The hotel wasn’t open during daytime, only a few workers were arranging goods.
He checked the inventory list, left the payment, and immediately took off—like he had something urgent ahead.
