Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 645: Ruining His Teaching Morals
Faye Xavier glared viciously at Jasmine Lucas, then scanned the people around holding their phones and chattering away, and roared, "Stop damn filming!"
The person at the front instinctively took a step back at Faye Xavier’s shout, but still held up their phone at him, filming while saying, "Yo, getting angry out of shame? Thinking about hitting someone?"
Jasmine Lucas saw the effect was achieved, pulled out her phone, and tearfully spoke into a phone that had no call, "What?! Doctor, you must save my mom! I’m heading over now, I beg you, I can’t lose her!"
Jasmine Lucas continued the fake call as she exited the farce.
After walking further away, she turned back to give Faye Xavier a proud glance and from a distance made a victory sign gesture toward him.
Although this prank wasn’t revenge enough, Jasmine Lucas felt a thrill of satisfaction.
Faye Xavier, left with the mess, wanted to charge after Jasmine Lucas to teach her a lesson, but the crowd surrounded him, filming and cursing, not allowing him to leave.
It was only when the traffic police on the bridge came to clear the road that the spectators dispersed, and by then, there was no sign of Jasmine Lucas.
"Brother Faye, what on earth happened?"
Faye Xavier was clearly no longer in the mood to go back to the hotel with the woman in his arms to spend the night. He fished the room card from his pocket and handed it to the woman, saying, "Babe, you head back to the hotel yourself, I’ve got things to handle."
With that, Faye Xavier left the bewildered woman standing in the wind, and strode toward where he had parked earlier.
This debt, he would definitely settle!
Audrey Sutton and Flora Lane were at the store eating, drinking, and chatting, waiting for Stephen Sutton to finish his class in the evening and pick her up.
Once in the car, Audrey Sutton immediately sensed her brother’s unhappy mood, and spotted Phoebe King glumly sitting in the back seat, the passenger seat vacant.
Audrey Sutton got into the car in the dim light and whispered to Phoebe King once the car started, "Sister Phoebe, what’s wrong with my brother now?"
Phoebe King pouted and complained, "What else can he do but sulk? He’s always showing off his sour face, who knows for whom."
Audrey Sutton was puzzled, "Weren’t things fine when you left?"
Phoebe King: "I don’t know either. I was just chatting with his students during the break, and then he started giving me attitude."
Audrey Sutton: "What were you talking about?"
Phoebe King thought for a moment, "I can’t remember clearly. Seemed like I just said he’s like an old man at home, nagging about everything, nothing much else. Don’t know what made him mad."
After grumbling, Phoebe King raised her voice, "Maybe he thinks marrying someone like me ruined his teacher’s dignity and ethics!"
Clearly, this was addressed to Stephen Sutton.
Hearing how serious Phoebe King’s words sounded, Audrey Sutton realized this time it probably wasn’t just a trivial quarrel.
Knowing her brother’s introverted nature, Audrey Sutton quickly tried to console Phoebe King, "Sister Phoebe, don’t be upset. My brother isn’t good at comforting others, and you’ve already got kids together, don’t let this upset you."
"Hmph!" Phoebe King turned to look out the window, while Stephen Sutton remained silent throughout.
Audrey Sutton knew that Phoebe King wouldn’t actually dwell on these matters. She just wanted Stephen Sutton to soften and comfort her. As long as Stephen Sutton took the initiative, Phoebe King would surely cheer up instantly.
But the car drove all the way home, and neither of them spoke a word.
Phoebe King went straight to Audrey Sutton’s room as soon as they entered the house, as if she was dead set on a standoff with Stephen Sutton.
Audrey Sutton hesitated, intending to speak to Stephen Sutton, but before she could utter "big brother," Stephen Sutton coldly ordered her, "Go back to your room and rest."
Seeing both of them still angry, Audrey Sutton didn’t want to be caught in the middle and reluctantly went upstairs.
Audrey Sutton was also pregnant and understood how emotions could easily fluctuate during pregnancy.
But when she entered and saw Phoebe King crying under the covers, she was stunned.
Because she never imagined that normally carefree Phoebe King would be crying so sorrowfully under the blanket.
"Sister Phoebe..." Audrey Sutton held tissues, wiping Phoebe King’s tears as she comforted, "Sometimes men are just like this, holding up their pride, with words left unsaid. It’s not worth getting upset over them."
Phoebe King grabbed a tissue and wiped her tears vigorously, but her eyes soon welled up again. Looking pitiful, she sobbed, "He was like this when I pursued him before, and it’s the same after marriage! Always giving me the cold shoulder. Do I owe him? Do I have to consider his mood in everything I do?! I’m always the one to make the first move, always the one to comfort him, why?! Just because I liked him first, I deserve this kind of treatment?!"
Audrey Sutton: "My brother’s naturally reticent, and before marrying you, he didn’t have a proper relationship. Plus, men’s thoughts differ from women’s — they’re clueless about what we’re thinking. Don’t be upset, Sister Phoebe, tomorrow I’ll talk to him properly!"
Phoebe King immediately objected, "Don’t you dare! Audrey, stay out of it! And don’t tell him about my crying! I want to see how long he can last! If he doesn’t come to me, I won’t go to him either! It’s his stuck-up ways that spoiled him! What’s he showing off for every day?! If I weren’t pregnant, I’d have divorced him by tomorrow!"
"Spit, spit, spit!" Audrey Sutton knew Phoebe King was just venting anger and hurriedly coaxed, "The baby is several months old and can understand us, don’t say spiteful things. I’ll run a bath for you, let’s not get angry with those stubborn men."
...
Miles Sterling sat in the taxi, circling the streets again and again. Having prepaid the driver a thousand dollars, the driver had no complaints, and without Miles Sterling’s signal to stop, he continued driving. But it was close to midnight, and it was time for the driver to change shifts.
After hesitating several times, the driver tentatively suggested, "Young man, I’m due for a shift change. How about I hand you over to my buddy, and he takes you for a ride?"
Miles Sterling, lost in thought in the back seat, snapped out of it and noticed the taxi’s clock showing "11:39" on the dashboard. He glanced down at the box holding an apple in his hand.
After a few seconds of silence, he said, "Take me back."
The driver paused and asked, "Back to where you boarded?"
Miles Sterling: "Yeah, just over the bridge."
As they happened to be on that side, the driver turned around and quickly drove over the bridge, reaching the destination in a few minutes.
The driver stopped and said, "Young man, you gave extra money, I’ll scan your QR to refund the change."
Miles Sterling acted as if he didn’t hear and stepped out of the car with the box.
The driver paused, shook his head, and sighed, "Still too young, having experienced too little, hence, easily trapped by love."
