Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Do You Like Mature Ones?

The movie is a romance film with a youthful theme.

Audrey Sutton wasn’t sure who occupied the memories of his youth, but to her, many deep memories of her youth were related to him.

She and he were not as lucky as the male and female leads in the movie, who were in the same class and neighborhood, going to school with a backpack in the morning and waiting for each other after school in the afternoon.

The nearly eight-year age gap made it impossible for them to experience such a youthful school story.

However, she remembered that every time there was a party at home, Grandpa Warner would bring him along, and she could only use such occasions to catch a distant glimpse of him.

The most memorable time was probably when she accidentally broke a plate while carrying desserts and cut her hand, and he helped her bandage the wound with a handkerchief.

At that time, she was thirteen years old, and he was twenty-one.

Even now, she still remembered how fast her heart was pounding when he held her hand to treat the wound.

"Did you have any little boys who liked you when you were in school?" Shane Warner’s voice pulled Audrey Sutton back from her thoughts.

"When I was in school? If any boy got a little close to me, my brothers would take turns talking to him privately, and then he wouldn’t dare to play with me anymore. Every time he saw me, he would avoid me, and I was always curious about what they said to him."

Shane Warner chuckled and asked her, "Does it sound like you regret it?"

"Not really, I just wondered what he had heard to be so afraid of me. Some girls in my middle school even started dating boys from school."

"What about you?"

Audrey Sutton gently pressed her lips together and said, "Honestly, a few boys did give me love letters, but I always thought they were quite childish."

Shane Warner raised an eyebrow slightly, "So you mean you like mature ones?"

Audrey Sutton paused, feeling that Shane Warner had set a trap and was just waiting for her to fall into it.

"Not exactly, it’s just based on feelings." She ambiguously responded to his question.

She felt that she didn’t follow a standard to choose someone to like, but rather after liking someone, that person became the standard in her heart.

It seemed that when she was twelve, she first saw him playing the piano on stage at a party.

As she was just entering her formative years, she didn’t know if her feelings for him were love.

But later at school, whenever she met boys of her age, she subconsciously compared them to him, and then felt those younger boys weren’t to her taste.

Her mind was filled with the image of that older brother in a black suit, quietly playing a white piano.

At that moment, a seed of love sprouted in her heart, and the seed took root and grew for eight years.

Even though in those eight years, he probably didn’t even know who she was.

She always thought she would appear in front of him when she became outstanding enough, hoping he would fall in love with her at first sight too.

However, man proposes, and God disposes, she forgot she was still young, but he had already become an eligible bachelor ready to discuss marriage.

Luckily, by some twist of fate, she still successfully occupied the spouse column in his life.

Only that position wasn’t very stable now.

In the evening, the two of them went back to The Suttons for dinner, and after packing her luggage, Audrey Sutton took General and got into Shane Warner’s car, returning to their home once more.

As soon as they entered the house, Audrey Sutton sniffed and caught a faint floral scent.

"Did you bring another woman back here?" Audrey Sutton turned to ask him.

Shane Warner knitted his brows, "Didn’t I bring you back that day?"

Audrey Sutton immediately said, "I don’t use this type of perfume."

Shane Warner then understood the reason for her question and gently put her suitcase by the door, changing his shoes while saying, "Go have a look at the balcony."

Audrey Sutton, puzzled, walked towards the balcony outside the living room.

"Wow—"

The once-empty balcony was now filled with various flowers and plants, looking like a private little garden.

The fragrance was emanating from the blooming gardenias.

"Why did you suddenly think of planting so many flowers?"

Shane Warner followed over after changing his shoes and said lightly, "I always wanted to, but living alone, I was afraid that when I went on business trips for several days, I wouldn’t have time to take care of them. Now that you’re here, if I’m not home, you can help water them, and I saw your house has a lot of flowers, so you must have experience."

Audrey Sutton immediately became proud, "You found the right person; my grandma is an expert in flower cultivation, so I learned a lot from her."

Shane Warner smiled slightly without saying more. Actually, he didn’t suddenly want to plant flowers; he just thought that if she ever got upset and wanted to go back to her parents’ house, she’d hesitate a bit knowing there were flowers, plants, and animals at this house to care for, so she wouldn’t just up and leave.

"By the way, send me the ’Lunar Palace’s Stars and Universe’ blueprint later on. I’m planning to take it for proofing tomorrow."

"Oh, alright, wait a minute."

She immediately dug out her laptop from her suitcase and asked Shane Warner while sending the file, "Do you like cats?"

"As long as you like them, then I like them."

"My fourth brother’s cats just had kittens. I want to bring two over to raise."

"Sure, when are you going to pick them up?"

"In a few days. My fourth brother said to let the kittens drink milk for a few more days."

"Alright."

The gloom in her heart dissipated, and only then did Shane Warner feel that the sky above him had cleared up.

The next morning.

Everything was back to the way it used to be.

After Shane Warner finished his jog with General, Audrey Sutton had breakfast ready for them.

Audrey Sutton didn’t have classes in the morning, so after breakfast, Shane Warner headed out alone.

After the morning meeting, Shane Warner left Faye Xavier and Lan Irving behind.

"I have two things to discuss with you." Shane Warner handed the blueprint in his hand to Faye Xavier and instructed, "Take this blueprint and prepare a model house for proofing. It will be next week’s new release focus, so it must be done within two days. That’s the first thing."

Faye Xavier looked at the blueprint Shane Warner passed over and smiled, "Master Shane, did you design this yourself? I didn’t see this piece among the previous drafts."

After saying this, Faye Xavier murmured to herself, "But this piece’s style doesn’t quite match yours. It looks more like something a girl would create."

Shane Warner didn’t explain and continued, "The second thing, Julian Bishop is returning to the country tonight and will officially start working at the company tomorrow. He has extensive experience in company operations and will take over my role, but I will still personally review each season’s new releases, so don’t let your guard down."
