Chapter 619: Chapter 619: How Is She Even Worthy of Me?

Audrey Sutton quietly snuck into her fourth brother’s room to peek at Pea. Pea only half-opened his eyes to glance at her, then used his paw to rub his head, stretched out on his back and closed his eyes again.

Clearly, he’s so adorable, yet so aloof and haughty. Audrey couldn’t resist petting him before leaving the room with General, gently closing the door behind her.

After heading downstairs, she saw Phoebe King and Norman Sutton fiddling with the gaming console, so she went over to join them.

Norman likely found playing games with Phoebe boring, so when he saw Audrey coming down, he generously handed her the game controller.

Sitting on the sofa, he rummaged through a bowl of nuts on the coffee table, apparently not finding what he wanted to eat, before shoving empty hands back into his pockets.

Unable to stay still, his eyes darted around, and he picked up a small doll on the sofa to play with, tossing it up and down.

Hazel Yates came out of the kitchen, noticed Norman idle, and said to him, "Six, come in and bring out the fruit platter."

Norman dropped the doll in his hands and lazily got up to head to the kitchen.

Just then, they heard a car outside. Playing games, Audrey quickly said, "It must be my sister-in-law!"

Phoebe snarkily replied, "She’s here to chase you for your manuscript."

Audrey: "Don’t talk about such a buzzkill!"

Franklin Sutton and Laura Yates walked in hand in hand. No sooner had they arrived than Samuel Sutton and Franklin entered as well.

Hazel entrusted the remaining tasks to the household staff, came out to glance at the clock on the wall, and said, "We’re just waiting for Evan. You can have some snacks first; once Evan’s back, we can have dinner."

Franklin, wrapping his arm around Laura standing in the living room center, smiled and said, "Dad, Mom, we have some good news for you."

Hazel was momentarily stunned, then sat down on the nearby sofa, smiling as she asked, "What good news?"

Franklin looked down at Laura and said, "Laura, you tell them."

Laura, slightly shy, lowered her head: "You tell them."

Before Franklin could speak, Phoebe blurted out, "Are you pregnant?"

Audrey was also taken aback when she heard: "Really, sis-in-law?"

Laura held back a smile, nodded: "Yes, over a month now. We just found out yesterday."

Hazel smiled: "That’s wonderful! Now your dad can officially retire and take care of a grandchild."

Phoebe: "That’s great. With more kids around, they’ll have company, and their childhood won’t be boring. When I was young, no one played with me, and I was bored to death."

Stephen Sutton chimed in coldly, "I think your childhood was quite eventful; you caught prawns in the river, climbed trees, and stole eggs."

Phoebe gave Stephen a playful glare and gently punched him.

Hazel: "I think the three of you should just move back here, so Mom can take care of you and you can have each other for company."

Franklin: "Mom, Laura still has to work, and our current place is closer to her company, making it convenient for commuting. My job doesn’t have regular hours, and I can’t always drive her, so it’s more convenient for us to stay there."

Laura also said, "Mom, don’t worry, I’ll take good care of myself."

Hazel: "Is the work tiring? Can you take maternity leave or something? If it’s really too much, would you consider resigning? I’m worried about you being overworked."

Laura smiled and shook her head: "It’s fine, Mom. It’s just sitting in the office handling tasks with my hands; I’m used to it, it’s not tiring. Besides, I’ll need to apply for maternity leave later on."

Hazel: "Alright, but still take care of yourself. Mom will visit you regularly. Phoebe, don’t get jealous, alright? Your brother’s busy with work and spends less time with Laura, so as Laura’s mom-in-law, I have to be more attentive to her."

Phoebe, definitely not the petty type, smiled upon hearing Hazel and said, "Teacher Sutton takes good care of me, so you don’t need to worry, Mom."

Audrey playfully pouted: "I’m jealous now!"

Hazel gave her a sidelong glance: "Shane is so considerate, you’re the last of my worries."

Norman chuckled: "You’ve already been married off; what are you even jealous about?"

Hazel turned her head to look at Norman. She intended to give him a piece of her mind but noticed the handkerchief he was twirling in his hand, which caught her attention, "Where did you get this handkerchief?"

Norman paused his handkerchief-twirling, not about to admit he’d snatched it, and said, "I bought it."

Hazel reached out: "Let me see."

Norman cautiously clutched the handkerchief: "Why?"

Sitting next to Hazel, Samuel Sutton casually reached over, took the handkerchief, and handed it to Hazel.

Hazel spread open the handkerchief to admire the embroidery, smiling in satisfaction, asking Norman, "Where did you buy it?"

Fearing Hazel might tease him about Lana again, Norman didn’t want to tell the truth, so he said, "I bought it online."

Phoebe: "Why would a grown man like you buy such a girly thing?"

Norman got flustered: "I... I bought it to wipe my nose, is that not allowed?"

Hazel, upon hearing this, immediately tossed the handkerchief back with a look of disdain and asked, "Which girl embroidered it for you?"

Norman: "I already said I bought it online."

Phoebe: "Which girl would embroider it for him?"

Audrey, recognizing the handkerchief from an earlier expo event, immediately chimed in: "Mom, I know who made it!"

Norman shot Audrey an angry look as if telling her to shut up.

But Audrey, naturally, wasn’t about to listen to Norman and loved opposing him. "It’s that Lana girl who worked at the flower shop before."

Hazel’s eyebrows lifted when she heard this. Looking at Norman, she said, "Didn’t you say you had no contact with her earlier? Are you on good terms again? When are you bringing her home for dinner? Is New Year’s good?"

Norman frowned: "What nonsense are you talking about? I’m not even close with her! Don’t listen to Audrey’s nonsense!"

Audrey moved closer to Hazel, as if to strongly prove she was not lying, and emphasized, "Seriously, Mom, I also bought some of her embroidered stuff. I’ll bring it over for you to see next time."

Hazel chuckled: "Seeing the girl’s embroidery, you can tell she’s talented and clever. I remember briefly seeing her at the flower shop last time; seems she’s not interested in Six..."

Norman snorted disdainfully, interrupting Hazel: "More like I’m not interested in her, okay? How does she even match me?!"

Hazel rolled her eyes at Norman, then continued: "I think the girl’s skills are impressive. I wonder if she’s interested in inheriting the art of Yates Couture. Audrey, do you have her contact info?"

Audrey: "I just know her name is Lana Holloway. She’s big brother’s student and quite famous at school; big brother should be able to get in touch with her."

Stephen nodded: "Yes, I remember. Later, I’ll ask other department teachers if they have her contact info."

Norman: "What do you all mean by this? Did you get my permission? She’s neither a Yates nor a Sutton daughter-in-law. Why should she inherit Yates Couture? I don’t agree! You mustn’t contact her!"
