Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 550: Embroidered By My Girlfriend
Lana giggled awkwardly, then took out a palm-sized small paper box from a paper bag beside the booth and handed it to Senior Wilson, saying, "Senior... I embroidered this especially for you, your name is on it."
Norman Sutton standing nearby, upon hearing this, instantly looked as if he had just swallowed a fly.
"Thank you, Lana, you’re really talented. How much does it cost? I’ll transfer the money to you."
"No, no need, this is my gift to you. You’ve helped me so much at school, how could I accept your money?"
While the two were chatting amicably, a hand suddenly reached over and snatched the box from Senior Wilson’s hands.
Norman Sutton, with a look of disdain, inspected the box. Without waiting for Lana to react, he opened it up, took out the handkerchief inside, and gave it a sniff. It had a faint scent, like some kind of floral fragrance.
"Norman Sutton, are you crazy? Give it back to me!"
When Lana reached out to grab it back, Norman Sutton hid the handkerchief behind him and said, "I’ll buy this one. How much is it?"
Lana, annoyed, said, "This one is not for sale!"
Norman Sutton chuckled, "So it’s free, thank you, Lana. After all, given our relationship, gifting a handkerchief is only right."
With that, Norman Sutton slipped away with the handkerchief.
Lana wanted to chase after him, but she also had to mind the booth. After taking two steps, Senior Wilson reached out to hold her back: "Forget it, don’t chase him."
Lana, still upset, stared in the direction Norman Sutton had left, then turned to the senior and said, "I’ll make another one for you later."
Senior Wilson smiled gently, looking at the other handkerchiefs placed on the booth, "It’s okay, these are also very beautiful. I’ll just take this one, an orchid, since your name also contains ’Lan’."
Hearing this, Lana’s face turned bright red.
"How do you know him?"
"Senior, you know him too?"
"There aren’t many people in school who don’t know him, right? He’s even won awards abroad, and his profile is on the school’s celebrity list. Are you close with him, Lana?"
Hearing this, Lana quickly shook her head in denial: "Not really, just before... when I was working part-time, I worked at their family’s flower farm, but I didn’t do it for long because he was too annoying."
Senior Wilson, knowing that Norman Sutton liked Lana, kept his thoughts to himself. He slipped the handkerchief with the orchid into his pocket and smiled, "Let me help you sell, anyway, your business seems pretty good."
"No need, no need, Senior, you just go do your own things, I’ve called two classmates to help."
"I don’t have anything to do anyway, I was just wandering around. Everything’s priced, I’ll help you promote and sell."
...
Norman Sutton walked to the less crowded edge of the plaza, sat on a stone bench by the fountain, and took out the handkerchief he had just snatched.
Embroidered with lotus flowers and koi, it was beautifully done, except for the "Zachary Wilson" in the lower right corner, which was a bit jarring.
He looked around, spotting a group of girls doing makeup nearby, and approached them, "Hey girls, do you have scissors?"
The group of girls, upon seeing a handsome guy, smiled happily, and one handed him an eyebrow trimming scissors, "Will this do?"
"Yes, thank you." Norman Sutton took the scissors and directly cut off the part of the handkerchief with the name on it. He unfolded the handkerchief and looked at it. Despite missing a corner, it felt much more pleasing.
Returning the scissors, a girl asked, "Where did you buy this handkerchief? It’s so pretty."
Norman Sutton paused, then smiled and replied, "You can’t buy it; my girlfriend embroidered it for me."
The girl looked disappointed, "You have a girlfriend?"
Norman Sutton didn’t answer, feeling smug as he walked away with the handkerchief.
Meanwhile, inside the venue, Vanessa Sterling was holding a signing event while Simon Sue and Clarissa Morgan were stepping out onto the stage.
Almost immediately, they attracted the entire crowd gathered at the exhibition.
Audrey Sutton also dragged Shane Warner over to join the excitement.
Because it was a show with a youth campus theme, Clarissa Morgan and Simon Sue were both wearing their uniforms from the drama.
Clarissa Morgan was several years older than Simon Sue, to the point where she could be nearly thirty, yet wearing the uniform didn’t seem out of place, and standing next to Simon Sue, there was no obvious sibling vibe.
Her looks and charisma were indeed impeccable, her character always maintained well, so even if her new show had average reviews about her acting, the fans still bought it.
Just Simon Sue alone was enough to cause a sensation, let alone with Clarissa Morgan, making this the biggest comic convention ever to date.
The host first asked some questions about the show on stage, and although the organizers knew everyone wanted to see the interaction between the two, since Clarissa Morgan was known to be Mrs. Sterling, their interactions were careful and not too intimate. Finally, Simon Sue played the violin while Clarissa Morgan performed a ballet piece to the music.
Amidst the continuous praises from the crowd, Audrey Sutton turned to glance at Shane Warner and asked, "Did you guys also collaborate like this back in school?"
Shane Warner: "It was so long ago, who remembers?"
Even if he did remember, he couldn’t say, otherwise, Audrey Sutton would go on about it endlessly.
Audrey Sutton glanced around, then tiptoed to whisper in Shane Warner’s ear, "I didn’t see Brother Sterling here, do you think they could’ve actually divorced?"
Shane Warner gave her a sidelong glance, "How many times have I told you, don’t meddle in other people’s business."
"I’m just curious. You’re so close with Brother Sterling, if they’re really getting divorced, he would have told you, right?"
Shane Warner: "I haven’t seen him in a long time."
Audrey Sutton: "Weren’t you guys working together before?"
Shane Warner: "We did, but it didn’t require the two bosses to talk directly. The employees aren’t there just to be fed for nothing."
Audrey Sutton, though unsatisfied with Shane Warner’s answer, couldn’t dispute his points.
She glanced over at Vanessa Sterling, still signing autographs, thinking she could ask her later; Quentin Sterling was her uncle, so she should know some inside scoop about The Sterling.
Once Simon Sue and Clarissa Morgan appeared, all the fans rushed over to Vanessa Sterling’s side to line up for the signing, hearing that there would be a raffle where 50 comic books would be signed by Simon Sue, Clarissa Morgan, and Vanessa Sterling together.
Vanessa Sterling’s fan base was already quite large, with long lines at every signing event. Now with Simon Sue’s popularity added, they probably couldn’t finish signing even if it took a whole day and night.
The only dissenting voices online regarding Clarissa Morgan’s acting seem to come from Vanessa Sterling’s original fans and a small portion of casual viewer fandom.
But even with some flaws in her acting, it couldn’t stop the trend of this drama becoming a hit.
Evidently, Clarissa Morgan calculated well, achieving her goal of becoming an overnight sensation.
