Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend-Chapter 277: A Battle
Hilla and Margaret were scrolling through Twitter at home.
They excitedly talked about the latest entertainment news.
Hilla was doing well, but she couldn’t sit for long after the cesarean section. Halle helped her to rest on the bed.
"Halle, have you ever looked for a gigolo?" Margaret leaned forward and asked with curiosity.
She felt that Halle was very much like the heroine in those cheesy novels. The story was always that the heroine called a gigolo and after a one-night stand she got pregnant. A few years later when the heroine met the gigolo again, she found that he was actually a big shot.
Emily was so beautiful and smart, and she was particularly cute and attractive. It seemed that her father was an excellent man.
Halle was unlikely to have sex with some random guy. Margaret had been spilling the tea on the Internet and she was now interested in Halle.
Hilla felt embarrassed at the question and blushed.
She didn’t know much about hooking up with guys or things like that, maybe even less than Hilla did.
She replied, "No, I haven’t."
"That was disappointing. I wonder how much it will cost to sleep with the most popular gigolo for a night?"
"What’s it to you? Are you willing to spend so much money to hire a gigolo?"
Hilla poked her head out of the quilt with a look of disdain, but Halle pressed her down the next second.
"Have a good rest and don’t move. You just recovered from a fever. Are you going to get sick again?"
"It’s still early. I can’t sleep!"
Hilla had just had dinner and felt that the food in her stomach had not been digested.
It was not long after she was operated on, so she would be in much pain once she got off the bed. She couldn’t move for a long time.
Moreover, she couldn’t fall asleep without Bruce by her side.
Only with Bruce would she feel at ease.
"Just rest on the bed. Don’t watch the boring news on the Internet."
Halle had also seen the entertainment news that Margaret had been talking about all day.
Halle had heard about Stanley from Hilla, and she instinctively felt that he was not pleasant to deal with.
She hoped that Hilla would live a peaceful life with Bruce.
"Halle, what do you think a one-night stand is like?"
Margaret was more curious about romantic affairs than Halle’s story. She could not wait to figure it out.
Halle felt that her face was getting hotter. She lowered her head and said, "You are already engaged. You should not know about these things."
Then Halle tucked Hilla in and said, "The soup is still being cooked downstairs. I’ll go and take a look."
Before Hilla could answer, Halle hurriedly left the room.
"Halle looked a little guilty."
Margaret moved closer to Hilla and whispered. Hilla glared at her. "Don’t you have anything better to do? Maybe I should ask Mom to put your wedding forward. So, you will learn about sex earlier."
"Are you serious?"
Margaret held her face in horror.
Margaret looked at Hilla disappointedly and said, "Halle is your sister, so you are biased, right?
"Do you really think it’s good for you to be like this? At least, I am your sister-in-law!"
Margaret complained sadly, but she didn’t expect Hilla to say, "As you said, Halle is my own sister. I have to be on her side."
Margaret covered her chest as if she were hurt.
She didn’t want to stay in this house anymore. She felt one loved her.
"I have to go back to my room and calm myself down."
Margaret stood up from the bed. Hilla quickly held her hand and smiled, "I am not only on Halle’s side but also on your side. And Bruce loves you!"
Margaret sniffed and said with a hurt face, "I used to be the one that Bruce loved most, but things have been different since you came!"
Margaret said with an unfriendly look.
Hilla sensed Margaret’s jealousy and couldn’t help but laugh. "Wife and sister are different."
"No one will a man like Bruce who ignores his sister after having a wife!"
Hilla blushed, grabbed the quilt to cover her mouth, and said in a low voice, "But I do!"
Margaret was not satisfied with the way Hilla was now. Hilla was not unique anymore. What Margaret missed was the Hilla of the past, who would pick up a stick and hit people hard.
A woman in love was not cute at all!
Halle hurried downstairs, and Emily was drawing with the maid in the living room, smearing her little hands and face with the paint.
Halle saw her cat-like daughter and soon her gaze turned tender.
She was about to take Emily to wash up when the gate opened. Bruce had just returned from outside. He was wearing a thin windbreaker. The wind was blowing, carrying a hint of moisture and coolness.
Halle glanced through the window and found that there was a drizzle outside.
It was getting warm as spring came. But the spring rain at night still gave people a slight chill.
"Daddy!"
A cute voice came from the living room. Before Halle knew it, Emily got up from the ground and quickly ran towards Bruce.
Bruce subconsciously stretched out his arms and caught the little girl running over.
He picked her up high and held her in his arms.
Halle felt surprised and then embarrassed. "Emily, he is your uncle."
"Daddy, hug!"
Emily blinked her grape-like eyes and hugged Bruce’s neck.
Looking at the cute and sweet little girl in his arms, Bruce found his heart softened.
He suddenly felt that it was not bad to have a daughter.
Halle frowned. At first, she thought that it might not be an accident that Emily called Horton daddy. But now it seemed that Emily was just curious and trying to use the new word she had learned.
Halle heaved a sigh of relief, but at the same time, she had another concern.
"Emily, he is your uncle, not your daddy."
Halle took Emily from Bruce’s arms and explained to her.
The little girl tilted her head and looked at Bruce with a timid look. She seemed to know that she had made a mistake and called out softly, "Uncle."
Halle felt sorry when she found that Emily was nervous.
Emily had called two men "Daddy". Halle realized that she had to pay attention to this problem!
...
Halle apologized to Bruce, "Emily has been watching too many cartoons recently. She must have learned the word daddy but doesn’t know what it means."
Bruce was not listening to Halle’s explanation. He was a little moved simply because he was called Daddy by a little cutie.
He thought of his two little babies in the hospital and wondered whether they would be as cute when they grew up.
The strange but familiar words just now kept lingering in his ears, making Bruce feel particularly warm.
Bruce’s innermost heart was touched. He looked up at the bedroom upstairs. He couldn’t wait to see Hilla and tell her he was very grateful that she didn’t abandon him and even gave him two lovely and healthy sons.
"It is OK if a kid doesn’t know its meaning, as long as the adult knows."
It was unknown whether Bruce meant it or not, but Halle’s expression changed slightly. She tightened her grip on Emily, unable to respond for a moment.
Emily had called both Bruce and Horton daddy. As Bruce said, Emily could not tell who her father was, but Halle knew it very well.
One could sometimes fool a kid, but he could never fool himself.
"Mom, I am sleepy. Let’s go to sleep!"
Emily hugged Halle’s neck with one hand and rubbed her eyes with the other. Emily seemed to be really sleepy for she looked listless.
Only then did Halle come back to her senses and said with a smile, "OK, let’s go to sleep."
Emily was only two years old, and there was no law to what she did. Halle didn’t need to be flustered because of Emily’s words.
Maybe Emily really had watched too many cartoons, or she accidentally heard the word on the Internet.
Emily took Bruce and Horton both as her "daddy".
Perhaps Emily thought "daddy" just meant a young man.
Halle told herself to take Emily’s mistakes as coincidence.
It was not until Emily fell asleep that Halle looked at the message on the phone. And her face became paler.
...
Halle was asked to go to a clubhouse.
After a while, she got out of the car and someone took her to the private venue in
the clubhouse.
As the door opened, Halle saw the back of a man, who was dressed in a white sports suit, standing in the middle of the room.
Claus hit the last ball and turned around to take the towel handed by the waiter. He wiped his hands and sat on the sofa to rest.
Halle followed Chris, whom she had met once before, and walked to the front of Claus.
"Ms. Holt, sit down please!"
Chris said politely and coldly.
Halle sat down calmly and looked at the middle-aged man who looked fierce.
Horton did look somewhat like Claus.
However, Horton was not as severe as his father.
Perhaps because he had been in the business world for many years, Claus had the wisdom and experience of a businessman. He looked at Halle more sharply.
"I heard you are Horton’s friend."
Claus took a sip of the black tea sent by Chris and his eyes were not on Halle.
His casual and contemptuous manner showed his scorn on Halle.
"I thought Chris had made everything clear to you last time. And you are a reasonable person. I didn’t expect to meet you again."
Claus said with a lazy posture. His imposing manner totally smothered Halle.
Claus was a rich middle-aged big shot, and Halle was a single mother living a hard life after divorce.
Halle was nothing, compared to Claus.
However, there was no trace of fear on Halle’s face at this time. She said calmly, "I thought so too, but I didn’t know why you still wanted to see me."
Halle’s words were full of sarcasm to Claus.
His fierce face turned even paler. Claus threw a document in front of Halle.
He snorted and said sarcastically, "Last time Chris talked with you, you said you would not pester Horton.
"But now are you telling me that Horton has a kid with you?"
Halle’s straight back suddenly became stiff. Her mouth turned dry and she said unconfidently, "I don’t know what you are talking about, Mr. Hutt?"
Halle looked at the folder in front of her, but she did not dare to take it and open it.
She could imagine what was in the folder.
"Tell me, how much money do you want? Since you gave birth to the child, you must want to maintain your relationship with Horton.
"I think you should know very well that Horton needs a noble lady with status to be his wife, not someone like you.
"I allow you to take the money and leave. You shall never appear in front of us. As for the child, we will take good care of her."
He would not leave the child to Halle. This child could be a threat. Only by keeping the girl in the Hutt’s would Halle have no chance to extort anything.
Halle’s hands at the side clenched tightly. She sneered.
When she raised her head, her gaze fell on Claus’s face. She was not wearing a gentle look she had seen just now. Instead, she looked cruel and cold with an unexpectedly strong air.
"What you said is really ridiculous. Why should my daughter be raised by your family? Did I say that I can’t afford to raise a child and need help?
"You are rich. But not everyone wants your money. Since you like to spend money so much, you might as well do some charity, like building a few primary schools. At the very least, there will be people grateful to you. And you will be called a responsible businessman. So, don’t spend it on me!"
Claus was stunned. He didn’t expect Halle, who looked gentle and tender a moment ago, would suddenly become so sharp and fierce.
Halle was definitely not as docile as she looked.
Claus couldn’t keep calm, and he became even more disgusted with Halle.
"How dare you talk to me like that!"
"It was nice of you to send me away with money and try to take my daughter away. Why can’t I talk with you like this?
"I didn’t come here to discuss, nor did I intend to use Emily to get anything from you. I don’t need your money. I just want to ask you not to disturb my life with my daughter. Horton just contributed a sperm, and Emily has nothing to do with him." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"Emily is my dear daughter. No one can take her away from me, even the Hutts!" Halle thought to herself.
