Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend-Chapter 264: Let Him Marry Me
Ever since Hilla knew that Bruce had gone missing, she had stayed in her room all day long and didn’t talk to anyone.
Orlenna was worried and paced up and down at the door. In just two days, she had lost a lot of weight.
"Go. Knock on the door. See Hilla."
Orlenna pushed Margaret in front of her, and her gaze fell on the closed door.
It had been two days. Hilla had never stepped out of her room.
Hilla asked them to place the food outside the door. She was pregnant. What if something happened? Orlenna was worried.
Her son had gone missing, and she couldn’t lose two grandsons.
Orlenna felt dizzy and took a step back. Margaret quickly grabbed her.
Margaret finally felt anxious, "Mom, you haven’t rested for two days.
"Take good care of yourself first. It was useless if you fall ill. Not to mention to take good care of Hilla."
Today, Margaret had a feeling that she was the pillar of the family.
"I’m fine. Hilla has two children in her belly. What if they are hungry or sad? Go in and take a look."
Orlenna pulled away Margaret’s hand that was supporting her. Instead, she gripped the railing tightly, her face pale.
As expected, she was getting old. She had not rested well for only two days but was unable to endure it.
"Alright, I’ll go. You should go back to your room and rest."
Before Orlenna could respond, Margaret asked an old maid to take Orlenna back to her room.
Seeing that Orlenna had left, Margaret heaved a sigh of relief. She wouldn’t let something bad happened to the old as well as the young in her family. Being the head of a family was really tiring.
Margaret knocked on the door and lowered her voice, "Hilla, I’m coming in."
In fact, the door wasn’t locked. But even if they went in these two days, Hilla wouldn’t say a word to them.
Margaret carefully pushed the door. As expected, the door opened.
As soon as she entered the room, she saw that Hilla was sitting on the bed and looking out of the window with a pale face. Her belly under the quilt was still bulging.
Margaret sighed with relief. It was good that the two babies were fine.
Hilla was quiet and had finished every meal.
She didn’t make any noise, but her silence made Margaret and Orlenna worried.
"Hilla, are you hungry? Do you want to eat something? There are your favorite snacks in the kitchen."
Margaret tilted her head and revealed a very cute smile.
Right now, she was probably the only one who could still laugh.
Hilla did not respond as before.
Margaret bit her lips and stepped forward to hold Hilla’s cold fingers, "If my brother comes back, he will hit me and blame me for not taking good care of you.
"Hilla, mom didn’t like me in these two days. You won’t let Bruce dislike me, right? Then how can I live a happy life in the Anderson’s?"
No matter how Margaret complained in front of Hilla, Hilla kept looking out the window, as if the scenery outside was beautiful enough and she couldn’t take her eyes off.
Margaret was close to tears. Since she was a little girl, it was always others who needed to pleased her. She had never played the role to comfort someone. Big shots like Julian and Bruce would earn at most two flattering words from her. But obviously, Hilla didn’t want those words.
"Oh, I didn’t tell you. The search and rescue team found Bruce’s phone in the rain forest two days ago."
Hilla finally responded.
She grabbed Margaret’s hand tightly.
"Where is his phone? Where is he? Have you found him?
"Is he safe and sound? Will he be back soon?"
Bruce and she had once participated in an adventure in the wild, and she found that Bruce was not skilled in the wild.
Most of the rain forests in South Country were primitive. Hilla was afraid.
Would there be ferocious beasts, mosquitoes, or snakes inside? Would Bruce be injured? Would there be accidents?
If he was injured, how could he ask for help? How did he live these days?
Hilla’s mind was buzzing with all kinds of ideas, all of which were about Bruce.
Margaret was in pain so she shook Hilla’s hands off.
If she had known that Hilla would be so excited, she wouldn’t tell her.
If Hilla continued to grab, her hand might lose sensation.
"Where is the phone?"
Seeing that Margaret was still in a daze, Hilla put on a gloomy face, "You lied to me, right?"
"I didn’t. The people there have delivered the phone from South Country, and we can receive it in two days.
"Don’t worry, they didn’t find anyone fighting or got injured in the place where the phone was found. So Bruce probably lost his way."
The rainforests were dense and it was in the rainy season. Getting lost was normal.
"How many days has it been? You told me."
Hilla raised her voice.
Margaret was frightened by her appearance and trembled a little.
She replied with a trembling voice, "Almost a week."
If they couldn’t find Bruce in another week, then he might really be in danger.
Margaret swallowed a mouthful of water and tightly grasped her clothes. She was also afraid.
What would the Anderson family do if they lost Bruce? They had to rely on her?
Margaret knew that she couldn’t handle the affairs in such a big Anderson family. At
that time, Orlenna had to deal with it. But Hilla was going to give birth...
Margaret had no experience, how could she take care of a pregnant woman who was about to give birth, as well as the twins.
Margaret thought about the things that they would face if she could not find Bruce, she was in a mess.
No wonder Orlenna didn’t feel well these two days. The Anderson family seemed to be on the verge of collapse.
For the first time, Margaret felt scared. She held Hilla’s arm tightly and her eyes turned red.
"Hilla, don’t scare me! And the two babies in your belly, don’t scare me!" Margaret thought Hilla would rush out, so she silently hugged her. Unexpectedly, Hilla sat on the bed calmly.
"It doesn’t matter. It’s only been a week. I can continue to wait. He will definitely come back."
Margaret wanted to nod in agreement with Hilla’s words, but she felt that Hilla was much calmer than before. Things were a little abnormal.
Was Hilla crazy?
...
Looking at Hilla, Margaret suddenly felt fear.
Hilla must have been too sad and looked abnormal. Then how was she going to explain to Orlenna? "Hilla, are you okay?
"Bruce will come back. Don’t worry so much." Margaret dared not to show her worry in front of Hilla.
If Julian disappeared in the rainforest, would she be as worried as Hilla?
Margaret shivered. What was she thinking?
It was of great difference.
Hilla and Bruce were truly in love with each other, but Julian and she weren’t.
"I’ll get you something to drink. You haven’t drunk any water for so long, and you must be thirsty."
After talking with Hilla for so long, Margaret was thirsty.
Margaret came out of Hilla’s room and heaved a sigh of relief. But when she saw Orlenna at the stairs, her relief was gone.
She knew that Orlenna wouldn’t listen to her and have a rest.
"How is it? Is Hilla in a better mood?"
Margaret rolled her eyes and said helplessly, "As usual. "But I am sure that your grandsons are safe and sound."
If it was in the past, Orlenna would be happy and grinning. But now she sighed helplessly.
"It’s understandable that Hilla is in a bad mood in such a circumstance. But if she can’t even keep the children safe, then the Anderson family will..."
Orlenna could not continue.
She didn’t know if Bruce could come back or when he would come back. She hoped that at least the two children would be safe.
"Forget it. She’s worried about Bruce now. Don’t disturb her. She might be fine in two days."
Orlenna felt that she should find Bruce within ten days.
But what if she can’t find him?
How would Hilla think after a long time?
Margaret said nervously in a low voice, "Mom, do you think Bruce can come back?"
"Of course he can!"
Orlenna glared at Margaret.
Margaret lowered her head and didn’t say a word.
Orlenna looked really scary.
Bruce had been missing for half a month. The phone that the search and rescue team sent back had run out of battery. There was no valuable information at all.
Two days later, the search and rescue team found some shabby and messy clothes at the edge of the rainforest.
The clothes had been torn and tattered, but the cloth was not cheap.
What was worse, some blood was left on those pieces of cloth.
On the day of the DNA test, Orlenna, who was always strong in mind, fainted in the hospital.
However, Hilla kept a straight face and stood silently beside her.
According to the official report, Bruce might have been killed.
Halle reached the day the test came out.
She stopped running her studio in the countryside and intended to accompany Hilla.
Looking at Hilla who was motionless and calm, Halle felt pity for her.
She knew that the more Hilla be calm, the more upset Hilla was.
Hilla didn’t cry or make a fuss. She asked, "Halle, is it hard for a single mother to take care of her child?"
Halle was stunned and didn’t understand what Hilla meant for a moment, but she answered seriously, "She will be tired but satisfied in her heart.
"The child is a gift from God."
Hearing that, Hilla put on a smile, a clean and gentle smile without sadness. Halle looked at her and couldn’t help but burst into tears.
She finally understood what Hilla meant.
If Hilla was an ordinary person, perhaps she would think that she could inherit a large amount of inheritance if something happened to Bruce. She was so young and didn’t need to be a single mother.
Without children, women are easy to remarry.
But Halle knew that Hilla wouldn’t do that. She must be going to stay in the Anderson family, regardless of Bruce’s absence.
On that day, Hilla didn’t cry. But the next night, she hid in Bruce’s study and cried for a long time.
Halle didn’t bother her and was worried.
Fortunately, Hilla knew that she was pregnant and could control herself.
Orlenna was ill. Hilla became more obedient and quieter. She had meals on time and took a walk in the evening after dinner every day.
...
A month later. In a Hospital in the Deep City.
"The man has been in the hospital for a month. Our director said that he might not wake up forever. Why did you bring him back from South Country? And you even run out of all your money. Are you crazy?"
Sissy was a nurse at this hospital. The girl standing by the bed wiping the man’s body was her sister.
Not biological sister. They had lived in the same orphanage and had a sisterhood.
The girl was in her twenties. She turned around and smiled at Sissy. Her eyes looked like a pair of crescent moons.
"Sissy, look at him. How good-looking he is. If I can’t find my soul mate in the future, I will let him marry me and live in my house!"
"But he even can’t talk with you and can help you with nothing. Why do you waste money on him?
"It’s so annoying to take care of a vegetative person every day. You didn’t need to save him back then."
"He will die if I left him there. It is a pity that we can’t find his family."
The girl was in disappointment.
She did not even know which country the man was from.
When she found him at the edge of the rainforest in South Country, she couldn’t find any communication or identification things on him.
She was in a hurry to return, so she brought him back without further investigation.
It was troublesome to bring such a person on the plane.
"You know how difficult it is to have such a free hospital in our orphanage. But you came here for private use. The director informed you of taking the man away. His injuries are all healed, but when he will wake up is still a matter. As long as you take care of him at home, he will be fine."
The girl smiled and nodded, "Help me thank the director!"
Then she looked at the man sleeping peacefully on the bed and muttered, "I don’t know which country you are from but take you back. Will you wake up?"
