Chapter 221: Chapter 221: She’s a Monster

Seraphina Redgrave walked out of the restroom.

In the spacious office, some were working hard to finish up for the day, while others were already packing up, hailing rides.

The two women were sneakily hovering around Seraphina Redgrave’s workspace.

One stood by the desk, blocking the camera, while the other woman casually moved over to Seraphina’s desk, rifling through papers.

Nothing was on the table.

She then opened a drawer and saw a corner of a document poking out from a black bag.

A trace of delight appeared on her face as she eagerly reached to open the bag.

"Hi."

Seraphina’s voice suddenly sounded in the woman’s ear.

"Ah—" she screamed in panic, losing control and tearing the bag open.

Suddenly, seven or eight small snakes sprang out of the bag, scattering in all directions.

Seraphina calmly put on her headphones, grabbed her bag, and watched the commotion unfold before her.

"Help! Aaaaaah—" The woman screamed frantically, her voice piercing through the air.

Then, wherever the small snakes passed, chaos ensued.

Shouts and screams echoed, and white A4 papers fluttered in the air.

Seraphina’s gaze swept over the chaos, her expression unfazed, only breaking into a smile upon seeing the two trembling women, "Looks like you’re a step too late."

"..." They looked at Seraphina as if she were a monster.

Meanwhile, the three instigators outside the window were dumbfounded, wondering why she seemed completely unafraid.

Seraphina picked up her bag, checked to make sure the documents were still inside, and calmly stepped over a small snake to leave for the day.

Behind her, the office erupted in mayhem, revealing the true, discomposed faces of men and women who could no longer maintain their usual polished façade.

Seraphina turned back to glance at the scene, raising an eyebrow.

Is this what they call failing to catch the chicken, but losing the grain? These people looked like they were facing a ferocious beast—some were perched on desks, others huddled on chairs, and some were crouched in corners.

If this were on Veridian Isle, the snakes would have been devoured already, considered a rare delicacy.

These people really haven’t seen much.

Seraphina turned to leave but sighed, set her bag down, then rolled up her sleeves and picked up the bucket left by the cleaner.

As she walked, she picked up the snakes within her sight and tossed them into the bucket.

The series of actions flowed naturally, without any hesitation.

"Damn!"

A colleague couldn’t help but curse.

These are snakes!

They bite!

She was actually catching them with her bare hands!

What kind of magical creature is this?

At that moment, everyone was gobsmacked.

The girl carefully searching for snakes in the office appeared calm and collected, as if she were merely picking up trash.

Before long, all the scattered snakes were caught by Seraphina and placed in the bucket.

Then, she walked straight to the female colleague who had tried to steal her documents.

The woman was rigid, not daring to move, her lips pale and trembling, her eyes filled with tears, pleading with Seraphina, "Miss Shaw, please, save me, save me."

A small black snake that Seraphina saw as toy-sized was wrapped around the woman’s leg, arrogantly flicking its tongue.

"How cute."

Seraphina admired the woman’s panicked distress.

The woman stared at her in horror, full of disbelief, "You’re not—you’re not going to take it away?"

"Give me a reason?"

Seraphina tilted her head, looking at the woman with a face full of confusion.

She was smart, finally realizing the whole scenario; Seraphina had known about their plan all along.

"I’m sorry, Miss Shaw, I was out of my mind; there won’t be a next time!"

Seraphina didn’t respond, simply standing there quietly.

"Miss Shaw, save me, please, I’m begging you." The woman sobbed, her once flawless makeup now a mess.

"Ah!!!!" The small black snake suddenly climbed up, frightening the woman into a scream, "Miss Shaw, I don’t want to die, I really don’t want to die!"

Other colleagues stood aside, unable to bear watching anymore, turning their heads.

Seeing this, Seraphina swiftly reached out, grasped the snake at the critical spot, and with a firm twist, the previously intimidating snake went limp.

Looking at the liquid on her hand, Seraphina felt annoyed, its stickiness vexing her.

The woman was finally freed, her legs weakening as she collapsed to the ground, tears and snot flowing, crying while thanking Seraphina, "Miss Shaw, thank you, thank you so much, I’ll never forget your life-saving grace."

"?"

Seraphina hadn’t expected to so easily be deemed a savior, but the gratitude from the woman wasn’t a bad thing.

Seraphina curled her lips but ignored her, picking up the bucket, then heading to the desks of the three men who had masterminded the incident.

Unhesitatingly, she stuffed all the snakes into their drawers, sealing them tightly with tape.

Quite ruthless.

After completing these actions, Seraphina turned and nodded with a smile at the three men.

Seriously?

Their anger propelled them to confront Seraphina, but she presented a video, evidence of them placing snakes in her drawer.

"?"

Did she predict their prediction?

Even recording it?

This woman—is she even human?

No, she’s a monster!

...

At this moment, Selena Quinn finally appeared, holding a stack of documents, her face adorned with a harmless smile, gentle, graceful, confident.

People in the workplace are much smarter than students, one glance or word is enough for them to willingly help her.

She didn’t care how they would handle Seraphina to ingratiate themselves with her; as long as Seraphina backed down, that was enough.

Afterward, she could find the right time to show concern for Seraphina.

Even if suspicion fell on her, what did it matter? There was no evidence.

Then she would double her kindness towards Seraphina, showering her with care, leading her astray and inclining her favorably.

Ultimately, through Seraphina, she’d get closer to Ethan Sterling.

Everything was so perfect.

Lost in her own fantasy, Selena walked forward step by step.

She saw the three men hoping to curry favor with her standing in the hallway, frustrated.

"Seriously, is that woman made of steel?"

"She wasn’t afraid?"

"Afraid my foot, those snakes are about to become her pets!"

"Not only that, she filmed us! If we report to the higher-ups, we’re in the wrong."

"I thought this young girl would be easy to handle, but how is she so special?"

"Thinking about ingratiating ourselves with Selena Quinn this way—forget it; who knows, one day we might just fall into this woman’s hands."
