Chapter 187: Chapter 187: Go Soothe Young Master Sterling

This Caleb, still hasn’t thought things through completely.

As if remembering something, Selena Quinn turned her head and saw that the row of seats where the man had been sitting was already empty.

She frowned slightly, then stood up and walked out the door.

At this moment, Seraphina Redgrave stood in the contestants’ lounge with a calm expression.

When she first entered the lounge, she had Beatrice Fawcett take another route at the corner, while she herself went into the contestants’ lounge, deliberately revealing her whereabouts to let the Elite Society’s people believe both she and Beatrice were trapped in the lounge, so they would be at ease and stop tampering.

Seraphina Redgrave took out her phone; it was up to Beatrice now since the competition had started.

And here, she would handle it.

The phone had no signal whatsoever; those people from the Elite Society had indeed expected this, and had specially prepared a signal jammer. She temporarily couldn’t seek assistance from the outside.

Seraphina Redgrave put the phone back into her pocket, her eyes scanning across the entire lounge, starting from her position and looking forward bit by bit, not missing a single detail.

The lights overhead flickered on and off.

The television was constantly on.

The air conditioning was set to a low temperature, making it feel chillingly cold even in June.

All the appliances were on; Seraphina Redgrave went to the restroom and saw a faucet that couldn’t be turned off.

And the sink had been sealed off, with water overflowing from it.

Seraphina stood in place, looking coldly at the scene; she watched the flickering lights outside, her eyes darkening as she crouched down to open the electrical box beneath the sink.

Inside were various colored wires, sparking from time to time due to overload.

Ha.

Pulling this stunt.

Seraphina took a close look, and beyond the overload, these wires had clearly been deliberately scrambled, with the fuses removed. If it short-circuited, it would immediately ignite.

Electricity and water, a pretty clever idea.

If someone died here, everyone would just think it was an accident.

This time, the people from the Elite Society were indeed ruthless.

This method must have been thought up by Caleb from the physics department.

After thinking for a moment, Seraphina turned around, finally taking some simple tools from the cabinet, stepping into the water on the bathroom floor, and crouched down to start fixing the circuit.

She learned this from the restricted area. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

There was an electrician there, with crippled hands, who was unwilling to see his skills fade away. He persistently shadowed Seraphina, teaching her everything he knew over endless days.

She just listened back then, with nowhere to practice it, and this was her first hands-on attempt.

Seraphina squatted in front of the electrical box, water gradually seeping over her ankles, soaking her pretty white shoes completely.

She focused on the tangled wires in her hands, calmly untwisting them one by one and reconnecting them.

Cold sweat trickled down her forehead.

Her long hair stuck to her cheeks, irritating her.

Seraphina bit down on the electrician’s pliers, reached out to gather her long hair.

She deftly hooked the hair tie from her wrist, just about to tie her hair when a loud "bang" sounded from the door, and the lounge door was violently broken open from the outside.

A tall black figure rushed in, exuding urgency.

Seraphina looked up in surprise, her gaze meeting with the man’s anxious one in the air.

The anxiety in his eyes immediately shifted to a dark brooding look, his face looking unusually unpleasant.

Nathan Ayers followed Ethan Sterling inside, "Miss, are you alright..."

He glanced over and saw Seraphina Redgrave squatting in front of the electrical box, tying her hair.

Sparks were shooting from the shorted wires on the wall, yet she showed no panic, forcing Nathan to stifle his concern.

Ethan Sterling stood still, watching Seraphina.

Whether it was because of the two staring at each other or the chaotic lounge, the atmosphere gradually turned bizarre.

Nathan silently took two steps back.

Seraphina finished tying her hair, put down the electricians’ pliers, and with some disbelief asked Ethan Sterling, "You’re here looking for me?"

Her expression was subtle.

Ethan showing up here meant he had sensed something wrong and came to find her.

He came for her, implying he didn’t attend the meeting today to watch the competition for her, and recalling he was mysteriously angry last night, apparently for her as well...

Everything, all because Ethan cared about her.

Ethan stood at the door, watching Seraphina, unmoving.

Sparks once again burst from the wall, while the water on the floor gathered more and more.

"Wait a moment."

Seraphina couldn’t spare any more words, lowering her head to continue fixing the wires.

Watching her focus solely on her task, Ethan almost exploded with frustration.

He gritted his teeth, muttered under his breath, "I told you this woman is a force to be reckoned with, Nathan, why meddle anyway."

Finished speaking, Ethan didn’t spare another glance at Seraphina, turning to leave the room.

Nathan stood helplessly in place.

What did it have to do with him? Was it he who insisted on watching the competition?

Nathan couldn’t argue, quietly accepting the blame as he continued watching Seraphina, fully engrossed in wiring, not even looking up.

Nathan sighed, "Miss, why didn’t you just kick the door open?"

Abandoning the simplest method and trying to fix the circuit here?

As they entered this venue, Ethan had him keep a close eye on her already. When Seraphina had entered the lounge alone, he thought she had planned everything, not thinking much of it.

But when Seraphina had no intention of coming out, Ethan’s anxiety was visibly apparent, recklessly kicking open the door.

Turns out she was fine, unscathed and still in the mood to fix wires.

Making Young Master Sterling’s worry all in vain.

While fixing the circuit, Seraphina said, "Sure, I could’ve, but if a fire broke out here, the whole tech pavilion wouldn’t escape unscathed."

She wanted the headlines about The Defiance Society beating the Elite Society, not a venue fire.

Hearing this, Nathan watched Seraphina twisting wires for a while before exclaiming, "Miss, you even know how to do this?"

Why on earth did he think a lady emerging from the restricted area wouldn’t know anything?

How was he so blind at such a young age?

"A little bit."

Seraphina replied.

"Should I call someone to handle it? Young Master’s mood..."

Before Nathan could finish, the lights on the wall stopped flickering, and Seraphina placed the pliers aside, "It’s done."

After fixing the circuit, Seraphina quickly repaired the faucet as well; it only took a few seconds.

Done already?

Nathan clicked his tongue.

Seraphina shook the water off her hands, then grabbed some napkins to dry them, "What did you say?"

She didn’t hear it.

Still amazed by Seraphina’s skills, Nathan was caught off guard and blurted, "Young Master is in a bad mood, maybe you should go and comfort him?"

Seraphina picked up from Nathan’s tone the hint of a child throwing a tantrum, needing a parent to soothe them.
