Chapter 854: Chapter 854: It’s Fine to Lust After His Body

Inside the car.

Thinking about what Ian Vaughn had just said, Ann Vaughn felt as though he was hiding something from her.

Exactly what it was, she couldn’t tell.

If it had little to do with her, Ann wouldn’t pursue it further despite her curiosity.

But the Lockwood Family’s intentions toward her couldn’t be more obvious, and she couldn’t pretend nothing had happened...

As Ann was lost in thought, she suddenly felt a light tap on her head.

"Still thinking about the Lockwood Family?" Cyrus Hawthorne’s deep and magnetic voice sounded beside her.

Kenny, nestled in Ann Vaughn’s arms, blinked his big eyes and pursed his little lips.

Ann Vaughn really suspected at this moment that Cyrus had planted a surveillance device in her mind. Silently, she grasped her collar tightly, eyes wary as she looked at him.

"When do you plan to remove the surveillance device from my heart?"

Just as she finished speaking, her forehead was flicked lightly by him.

"Your thoughts are written all over your face, there’s no need to guess." Cyrus chuckled lightly.

Ann Vaughn covered her forehead, her eyes accusing.

Her face wasn’t a diary; how could all her thoughts be written there? It was clearly his sharp intuition; no small secret could be hidden from him...

"Ah! Stop the car!" Catching sight of the building outside the car window, Ann quickly asked the driver to pull over, "I promised Wilder I’d visit him on set, Quinn, I won’t be going to the branch office with you."

After she spoke, Ann asked Kenny, "Baby, do you want to go with Mommy, or go with Daddy to the office?"

The Little Dumpling thought for a moment, then in a sweet voice said, "Daddy would be so lonely alone, so I’ll keep him company."

Ann couldn’t help but laugh, then nestled the Little Dumpling into Cyrus’s arms, "Alright then, you two get along well, don’t argue where I can’t see you."

Cyrus lowered his gaze at the little chubby one in his arms and then murmured, "Be careful on the road."

"Goodbye Mommy, stay safe!"

"I will."

As the car door closed and Ann’s figure disappeared at the roadside, the Little Dumpling deftly darted out of Cyrus’s embrace and ran to the furthest seat away from him.

His chubby face clearly saying, "I don’t want to get along well with the one who stole my mommy."

"If you don’t come over now, don’t expect anything from me later." Cyrus gave Kenny a slight gaze, tapping the laptop keyboard lightly twice with his fingers.

The Little Dumpling looked at the hand mirror in his grasp, then at Cyrus’s computer, his little brows furrowed in distress.

But he didn’t hesitate for too long before scrambling back to Cyrus’s side.

Even though he could find out about the Lockwood Family’s details, if he told Mommy, she’d definitely worry about him.

But if it was The Archfiend who told her, everything would be much simpler.

So Kenny decided to endure!

Cyrus ruffled his little head, his narrow eyes surprisingly gentle, "Be good, or I’ll toss you to the fishes."

"Shame on you," huffed the Little Dumpling, "You’re so old and you still sneak my mommy away every night to sleep with you, aren’t you ashamed!"

"Not at all, that’s why your mommy is mine."

"Mommy belongs to Kenny!!"

The big one and the little one bickered back and forth.

The argument made Mark Joyce and the driver in the front seat sweat a bit.

This argument couldn’t be more than six years old.

...

On the set.

"Look over there, the woman leaning against the trellis of flower vines, who is she? Even though her face is hidden by sunglasses, her aura is amazing."

"Must be some popular actress, right? She’s probably here to visit the set. I bet the paparazzi will have something juicy to write about again."

"Just showing a little bit of her face and she’s already so pretty, how beautiful must her whole face be? I’m so captivated I can barely breathe."

"Bet you it’s to visit Actor Sheridan on set. Which actress in the circle wouldn’t want to create headlines with him? The meteoric rise would be faster than a rocket."

"..."

The front was the filming site, and to avoid disrupting Wilder Sheridan by showing up suddenly, Ann Vaughn decided to stand here and wait for him.

From here, she could see the scene they were filming, and Wilder Sheridan’s performance was entirely in her view.

It must be said, that "The Lakeside Thespian" truly deserved his reputation.

Probably because he was still young, his acting was like a finely carved piece of uncut jade; it might not reach perfection, but his empathy was strong, easily drawing the audience in.

So much so that it wasn’t until the staff called three times that Ann Vaughn was pulled back into reality from Wilder Sheridan’s recent scene. She looked at the person, her eyes dazed.

"Anything I can help with?"

"I’m sorry, could I have your autograph?"

Ann finally returned her attention, apologetically smiling at the staff, "I’m sorry, I’m not an actress, just here to visit a friend."

"Sis!" Just as she finished speaking, Wilder came racing up in costume, "Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?"

The staff nearby thought Wilder’s way of calling her sis was like calling older female colleagues, not suspecting there was more to it.

"Haven’t you always said you look the coolest while working? I wanted to see how cool, so I didn’t tell you." Ann shrugged, smiling.

Wilder immediately puffed his chest out, "What do you think? Pretty cool, right?"

He still had makeup on, making him look elderly due to the emperor role he played in his twilight years, yet with his proud demeanor, the result was comically endearing.

Ann couldn’t help but chuckle, "Yes, very cool. I’ve ordered some food from a nearby hotel to be delivered as a visiting gift."

Coincidentally, this was around meal time, so it wouldn’t interfere with the crew’s filming.

Soon enough, the hotel’s waitstaff wheeled in the food carts, arranging the meals, desserts, and drinks.

The crew members were already stunned.

"Wow... am I seeing things? Is the emblem on the plates from Epicure Restaurant? Isn’t it??"

"It is, that’s the place reputed to be just as expensive as it gets, Epicure Restaurant. Ah, I’m lost for words!!"

"Who is this lady visiting Actor Sheridan? She’s so generous, I can cook and warm beds post-college graduation!"

"Thanks to Actor Sheridan’s blessing, I get to taste something from Epicure Restaurant, something I’d never afford even after twenty years of struggle..."

The whispers weren’t too loud, but they reached Wilder’s ears, making him feel proud until he heard "warming beds," which instantly darkened his expression.

Who had the nerve?

Wanting him, fine, but not his sister!!

"Miss Vaughn really went through no small expense." The director nodded with a smile to Ann, and then addressed all the crew, "Miss Vaughn is treating, everyone dig in, and if anyone complains about being too full to work, I’ll deal with them!"

"Thank you, Miss Vaughn, we won’t be shy then!"
