Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 394 - 393: Life Is Short
"Serena."
Ethan Grant carefully called out, but Serena Sullivan, lying on the bed, kept her eyes closed and did not respond.
"Serena!"
He called out louder, and Serena’s eyelids fluttered open. She saw the worry in Ethan Grant’s eyes and asked, "What time is it?"
Ethan sat on the bed and leaned back, then pulled Serena into his arms.
In the quiet night, they leaned against each other as he held Serena tightly.
"Aunt Ann said you’ve been sleeping for a long time?"
"Serena, you’ve been sleeping a lot lately."
Ethan said softly. He hadn’t noticed anything unusual before, but just now, standing by the bed, looking at the sleeping Serena, he suddenly felt as though she might not wake up.
"I’m just tired."
Serena felt the warmth from Ethan’s embrace and spoke faintly.
She lied calmly.
"Hmm." Ethan lowered his head, resting his chin on Serena’s neck.
Even with Serena in his arms, he felt she was far away from him.
"Serena, as I mentioned last time, let’s go abroad for treatment. How about next week?"
He didn’t want to delay this any longer.
"Okay!"
Serena replied, but then she changed her tone, "I have a few things to take care of. How about leaving in a month?"
She turned her head to look at Ethan, giving him a rare smile, and asked, "Is that alright?"
Serena spoke so gently, stirring waves of emotion in Ethan’s heart. He replied, "It’s better to see the doctor sooner. Let’s say half a month instead."
"Alright!"
The smile on Serena’s lips grew wider. She knew Ethan would shorten the time, so she purposely said a month.
Joel Quinn and his daughter had been driven out of The Sullivan Residence, Claire Sullivan had also divorced Joel Quinn, and as for revenge on Ethan Grant!
She didn’t want to continue!
Time wasn’t on her side to continue!
She needed to leave Solaria.
"Serena." Unaware of Serena’s plan to leave Solaria, Ethan held her tighter. "Serena, how wonderful it is to hold you like this!" 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
With everything in the past, he had missed too much, and he didn’t want to make any more mistakes.
"Serena, let’s stay like this forever, shall we?"
After softly asking, he lifted his head.
He didn’t dare to look at Serena’s face, and was somewhat afraid to hear her answer.
He knew Serena’s nature well, she wouldn’t tolerate any sand in her eyes. Four years ago, he didn’t answer her call and indirectly ruined her legs, lost their child; no matter the reason, it was his fault.
It was his uselessness, unable to protect her.
Serena, if she still wouldn’t have him, what should he do!
"Alright!"
However, Ethan heard Serena’s response.
A single word, in a faint and calm tone, made no waves, but Ethan felt immense joy.
"Really?"
He said happily, "You can’t lie to me!"
"Serena, you’ve forgiven me!"
Ethan continued to ask, and Serena gave a smile without directly answering.
Forgiveness!
If she had a long life ahead, she probably wouldn’t return to Solaria and insist on marrying Ethan Grant.
She would forget this relationship and meet another man.
Unfortunately, she didn’t have that much time.
Knowing her time was limited, she decided to return to Solaria and see him one more time!
When someone loves someone else, desperately and heartbreakingly, wanting to come back and disturb his calm life, making his remaining years unfortunate because of her.
Upon understanding his thoughts, realizing he hadn’t intentionally ignored her call four years ago, she conceded.
She no longer wanted to exhaust herself with hate, as for love! That wouldn’t happen anymore.
