Chapter 391: Chapter 390: They’re All Scumbags

"I thought Joel Quinn was different from that man, but it turns out they’re both equally rotten."

Claire Sullivan said with hatred.

"From now on, I’ll listen to you, alright?"

Claire Sullivan continued with reddened eyes, not hoping that Serena would immediately forgive her, but wanting a chance to make amends and take care of Serena.

After speaking, she lifted her head, not wanting her tears to fall too quickly for Serena to see.

In her blurred vision, suddenly a man’s stern and grim face came into view, making Claire Sullivan think she was dreaming.

All these years, she didn’t know how many dreams she had, dreaming of the man who treated her well, dreaming of the man to whom she had given her heart and soul, dreaming of the man who ultimately cruelly expelled her from the Imperial Capital.

Is this a dream?

Claire Sullivan looked again and realized he was very real, more vivid than any of her previous dreams. Holding Serena’s hand, she felt a distinct warmth.

With a "slap" sound, Claire Sullivan raised her hand and slapped herself.

The crisp sound of the slap left Serena Sullivan bewildered.

As she spoke, why did Claire Sullivan slap herself!

Claire Sullivan wanted to prove that everything in front of her wasn’t a dream, so she gave herself a slap to see if she would feel pain! The result was, it hurt! It really hurt, the pain from her cheek extended to her chest, all in pain.

"Claire Sullivan!"

Serena Sullivan watched as Claire Sullivan’s tears suddenly burst forth, she called out.

She turned her head to see Mr. Sterling standing behind.

Unlike Claire Sullivan, Mr. Sterling carried a cold and intimidating gaze.

"Do you know Mr. Sterling?"

Serena sensed something was wrong and asked Claire Sullivan.

Serena’s words pulled Claire Sullivan’s thoughts back; she hadn’t expected to meet the man she hadn’t seen for over twenty years here.

And everything must not be discovered by Serena.

Claire Sullivan raised her hand and slapped herself again, then began to cry, "Serena, mommy was wrong, please forgive me."

To make Serena believe she sincerely wanted her forgiveness, Claire Sullivan slapped herself once more.

"Alright." Serena believed her.

"First, you have to divorce Joel Quinn."

She didn’t say she’d forgive, nor that she wouldn’t forgive; Claire Sullivan is her biological mother, her only relative in this world.

This significance is very special to Serena.

She grew up without a father; Claire Sullivan once meant everything to her.

"Okay, okay." Claire Sullivan nodded, she stood up and lowered her head to wipe away the tears that fell from her eyes, not wanting Serena to notice anything unusual about her now.

Serena was already very pitiful, having a mother like her; she couldn’t let her know that Mr. Sterling was her biological father.

She remembered how she said hurtful things about her biological father abandoning them to provoke her, which must have hurt Serena deeply back then.

After wiping her tears clean, Claire Sullivan took a breath, trying to make herself look very calm.

She smiled and asked Serena, "Is this Mr. Sterling?"

The man with the Sterling surname didn’t leave, he stood there coldly watching the front.

This man’s thoughts have always been hard to guess, and Claire Sullivan was no match for him.

One love affair, her heart was shattered, causing her subsequent emotions to be disastrously bad.

"Yes."

Serena remembered Mr. Sterling behind her, she turned the wheelchair and introduced him to Claire Sullivan while also observing her and

Mr. Sterling.

"Last time you said you’d introduce me to him, didn’t expect to bump into each other in the mall by coincidence."

"Mr. Sterling, I’ve long admired your name," Claire Sullivan, holding back the pain and anger in her heart, smiled and extended her hand.

She strongly controlled her emotions, fearing a moment of impulse would lead her hand to slap Mr. Sterling instead.
