Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 389 - 388: Already Received Retribution
"Serena Sullivan, you bitch!"
Realizing she was deceived by Serena, Ruth Hale stood up angrily, wanting to go forward and teach Serena a lesson, but hesitating because of the young girl beside her.
"Divorce, or go to jail."
Serena couldn’t be bothered to waste words with Ruth. She believed Ruth would relay everything to Joel Quinn, and knowing Joel’s self-preserved, cowardly nature, there was no way he’d let himself end up in that place.
The wheelchair moved forward as she left the café first.
Claire Sullivan also understood that Serena had her arrange this meeting with Ruth to help her divorce Joel Quinn.
Joel Quinn used to pretend to be a good, obedient husband, but now, after being chased out of the Sullivan Residence, he was like a leech stuck to her, not willing to let go unless he drained her dry.
Suing Joel was a tough battle; provoking Ruth to make her reveal her and Joel’s marital status was much simpler.
This marriage gave Joel no way out, no matter how unwilling he was!
Claire watched Serena’s silhouette, smiling, then saw Ruth chasing Serena, calling her a cripple, anger welling up inside her, and she quickly stepped up to Ruth, raising her hand and slapping her.
"Claire Sullivan! How dare you hit me!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Claire slapped her again.
Hitting Ruth wasn’t the first time.
Even if she hit her ten more times, it wouldn’t quell her inner anger or alleviate her guilt towards Serena.
Claire’s expression was cold, her hand raised and lowered, hitting that repulsive face again.
Slap after slap, all her hatred and anger were in those blows, and those slaps left Ruth unable to react or retaliate.
By the end, Ruth’s cheeks were swollen terrifyingly, tears falling, blurring her vision.
"Claire Sullivan, you’ve been deceived by that bitch Serena."
She showed weakness, trying to gain Claire’s sympathy with tears.
Claire looked at her crying, and Zoe Quinn’s image flashed in her mind.
Ha! How alike they cried, and she wondered why she hadn’t seen it before.
"Bitch!"
She raised her hand again, delivering another slap that knocked Ruth to the ground.
"She’s my daughter, my biological daughter whom I carried for ten months! Who’re you calling a bitch!"
As Claire spoke, her emotions heightened, she truly hated herself for making mistake after mistake.
"I didn’t trust my own for your daughter, and even drove her out of Solaria."
The biggest mistake of this life wasn’t falling for that man but destroying Serena for the Quinn family!
"It was her shameless attempt to seduce Joel..."
Mentioning this only fueled Claire’s anger, looking at a crying Ruth on the ground, she stomped down with her foot.
The sharp heel made Ruth scream in agony.
"What is Joel Quinn! Without my support, he’s nothing."
She felt lucky she came back four years ago, otherwise, if anything had really happened to Serena, not even killing Joel would have sufficed.
"Tell him to obediently sign the divorce papers, but for what the two of them did to Serena, I won’t just let it go."
With that, Claire shot Ruth a fierce glare; she couldn’t let go of Joel Quinn and Zoe for what they did, nor could she forgive herself for her past actions.
"Claire Sullivan, treating us this way will bring you retribution."
Ruth was in pain all over from the beating, shouting loudly.
Claire stopped in her tracks, slightly turning her head to coldly sneer at Ruth, "Retribution, I’ve already faced it."
Serena’s loss of her legs was her retribution!
Serena not wanting her as a mother was her greatest retribution!
