Chapter 385: Chapter 384: If You Want to Know the Truth, It’s Simple

Serena Sullivan, you useless cripple, go die!

Ruth Hale glanced at the cup on the table and quickly stepped forward. If she had a knife in her hand, she would have stabbed it immediately to keep Serena from bullying Zoe.

With a "clang," Ruth Hale smashed the glass goblet against the table corner and lunged at Serena with it.

Serena saw Ruth’s entire motion and watched coldly, not moving her wheelchair.

Claire Sullivan panicked and jumped forward to shield Serena with her own body.

So many wrongs have already been committed; how could she let Serena get hurt again? 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Serena get hurt?

With Yaya there, how could Ruth Hale possibly harm Serena? She couldn’t even touch the hem of Serena’s clothing, let alone pierce her skin.

Yaya moved quickly, snatching the broken cup from Ruth Hale’s hand before she could react, and pinned her against the table.

Serena had already asked the café owner to clear the premises when she arrived.

"Let me go!"

Ruth Hale’s face was pressed hard against the table, and the desserts on the table smeared her face.

Claire Sullivan breathed a sigh of relief seeing the young girl subdue Ruth, but when she looked down at the shards on the ground and the broken cup Yaya handed her, her heart leapt to her throat.

"You said you cared for me, yet you tried to stab Serena with this glass."

Ruth Hale knew very well that Serena had limited mobility, yet she purposefully smashed the cup to stab her; it was attempted murder.

"Ruth Hale, I was really blind before."

Claire Sullivan spoke in a cool, steady voice.

Immobile under the pressure, Ruth Hale scoffed derisively, "Who let her harm Zoe."

"Whoever harms Zoe must die!"

Just as she was shouting passionately, a sharp pain ran across the back of her hand, making her scream.

Sitting in her wheelchair, Serena coldly sliced Ruth Hale’s hand with the broken cup, the blood staining the cup and the corner of the table.

"Serena, what are you doing!"

Feeling the searing pain in her hand and the scent of blood in the air, Ruth Hale cried out in panic.

Was Serena going to cripple her hand, or kill her?

"Serena," Claire Sullivan was panicked too, "give me that cup."

To destroy Ruth Hale’s hand, she’d do it herself! She couldn’t let Serena get caught up in legal troubles.

Serena didn’t hand the cup to Claire but slowly wiped the blood off it with a tissue.

With another "clang," she dropped the broken cup to the ground, deciding not to act against Ruth Hale any further.

She cherished her time alive and wouldn’t ruin Ruth Hale’s hand and end up in that place.

Moreover, Ruth Hale wasn’t worth it.

Serena looked at the blood on the tissue, folded it, and handed it to Claire Sullivan.

Claire stared at Serena with confusion, not understanding her intent.

"Joel Quinn and Zoe have been living at the house for so long; their hair should be around."

"Compare their DNA, and you’ll find the answer."

She collected some of Ruth Hale’s blood, intending for Claire to compare it with both Zoe and Ruth Hale’s, as well as Zoe and Joel Quinn’s.

This way, they could determine whether Zoe was truly the biological daughter of Ruth Hale and Joel Quinn!

Claire Sullivan understood and nodded firmly, agreeing, "Okay."

"I’ll call Mrs. Chen right away to have her search."

Claire was somewhat worried, though; the household staff kept the house spotlessly clean, and she had recently cleared out Zoe and Joel’s belongings, planning to renovate The Sullivan Residence entirely.

If they couldn’t find Zoe and Joel’s hair, things would become tricky.
