Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 295 - 294: Your Son Just Loves Clinging to Me
The smile on Serena Sullivan’s lips grew wider; she didn’t know why she could still laugh at this moment.
"What if I can’t have children!"
"I’ve lost the use of my legs." Serena smiled, but her voice came out almost through gritted teeth, "Even Ethan Grant treats me this well."
"He knows that because of that car accident, I’ll never have children in this lifetime, and he would want no one but me."
When others show her respect, she returns it tenfold.
Conversely, when others target, entrap, and insult her, she certainly wouldn’t let them off easily.
Her calm words made Mr. Grant’s face change.
Clearly, he had exposed Serena Sullivan’s scandals in front of all the prominent families of Solaria. Shouldn’t she be crying? Or pleading for mercy?
How could she still be smiling!
"Mr. Grant, you’re wrong."
Serena smiled, her tone cool and indifferent, making those around feel uncomfortable.
After speaking, she turned her wheelchair and slowly rolled towards the door.
The door, with a raised threshold, blocked her wheels from moving over it smoothly, and only with the help of Yaya pushing the wheelchair did she manage to get out.
They walked toward the other end of the corridor, and the guests’ chatter didn’t quiet down because of Serena Sullivan’s departure; instead, it grew louder.
Mr. Grant, with a cold expression, replaced it with a smile, turned to all the guests, and said,
"Truly, it’s embarrassing for everyone."
Clearly, he had intentionally brought up the matter, and now he apologized for it.
Many sneered, disapproving of The Grant Family’s unethical behavior.
Bullying a "daughter-in-law" while her son is away is really out of line.
"I’ll go meet someone downstairs; please continue." Mr. Grant said with a smile, but The Matron Grant said bluntly, "I have a bit of a headache; I’ll go rest inside."
"Mr. Sterling and his wife..." Mr. Grant didn’t finish his sentence before The Matron Grant turned and went into the banquet hall.
"Dad!"
Renee Grant, hearing Mr. Grant’s words, asked excitedly, "Are Mr. Sterling and his people here?"
"They are about to reach the hotel entrance."
"I’ll come with you to greet them." With people from the Imperial Capital arriving, her excitement made her forget about Zoe Quinn and Serena Sullivan, and she regained her graceful demeanor, walking ahead into the banquet hall, "It’s a relief they finally arrived."
Yaya, seeing Mr. Grant and others taking the elevator down, worried Serena Sullivan might feel upset, so she pushed her in another direction.
Sitting in the wheelchair, Serena was absent-minded, refusing Yaya’s help and operating the controls herself, slowly rolling forward.
As for where she was headed, she didn’t know; she just felt the pain in her heart slowly spreading throughout her entire body. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Madam!"
Looking at the silent Serena, she called out. The words Mr. Grant had just spoken were truly shocking and distressing.
She was skilled in martial arts but was clumsy with words.
"Hmm!"
Serena responded.
"You are great."
"If Mr. Grant doesn’t want you, you can definitely find someone better." Her plain voice with truthful words brought a smile back to Serena’s face.
But after the smile, Serena’s eyes turned red as she looked ahead.
She also felt great, but what was the use of being great!
Her life had come to a halt four years ago.
The banquet hall was on the second floor of the hotel, and when Serena stopped her wheelchair, she turned her head and saw the staircase next to her.
She had gone the wrong way; she needed to take the elevator.
A disabled person, a person in a wheelchair, how could she go down the stairs?
