Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 293 - 292: A Woman Who Can’t Have Children...
The aged and steady voice came through, and Serena Sullivan looked up to see Ethan Grant coming out with his entourage.
Serena, facing Ethan, couldn’t move quickly due to her disability, nor did Yaya behind her react in time.
"Ask Renee what is happening! All sorts of riff-raff are showing up at the Grant Family’s banquet."
While Yaya was pushing Serena to the side, Ethan coldly instructed the Matron Grant beside him.
Serena had come; Ethan must have known.
He didn’t cause a scene or chase anyone away because he saw Ethan Grant was present.
But now, with Ethan nowhere to be found, seeing Serena crashing in filled him with rage and disgust.
He disdained the Sullivan Family, and even more so the crippled Serena.
"Father,"
Renee Grant, returning to the banquet hall, saw Serena and Ethan and approached with tear-filled eyes.
"Someone just spiked drinks at our Grant Family banquet..."
All of this was caused by Serena, causing the Grant Family embarrassment, resulting in Sean taking Zoe Quinn away.
The incident involving Zoe caused quite a stir; as the host of today’s banquet, Ethan could not be completely oblivious.
After hearing Renee’s brief explanation, his expression turned cold and he looked at Serena with eyes as cold as ice.
"Miss Sullivan, if you’re going to manipulate others, at least choose the right occasion."
People have always said that the Grant Family didn’t like Serena and had their own desired future matron in mind.
But Ethan overtly confronting Serena in front of reporters and guests was still shocking.
Serena smiled and politely replied, "Mr. Grant must be joking; the events at the banquet have nothing to do with me."
After saying this, she motioned for Yaya to push her forward.
"Stop!"
Ethan shouted sternly, and the Matron Grant anxiously tugged at his sleeve, "Ray."
"All these people are watching!" 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
The banquet had attendees from all over high society, and everyone was watching Ethan’s every move.
Ethan ignored the Matron, for since Serena’s return, he had people monitoring her.
His son refused to be controlled, insisting on being with a crippled woman lacking family background, and this infuriated Ethan.
This anger, simmering until now...
He believed some people needed to be dealt with thoroughly to stop them from overstepping and dragging others down.
"Miss Sullivan, no matter what, I won’t approve of you and Ethan."
"To be blunt, you’ll be a burden to him for life as a handicapped person."
Ethan turned his head, looking icily at Serena in her wheelchair and spoke with loathing.
He deliberately raised his voice so the guests inside could hear.
Circles of people formed around, looking at Serena with shock, mockery, or pity.
A crippled woman hoping to marry the head of the Grant Family—few present believed the two would last a lifetime together.
"Ray!" The Matron Grant called again with displeasure.
Ethan paid no attention to her; he summoned the guards to expel Serena.
With Ethan not around, he didn’t regard Serena at all and intended to announce something at this occasion.
Seeing is believing; all of this was of Serena’s own doing.
"No need to trouble Mr. Grant."
Serena turned her wheelchair and replied with a faint smile.
Her back was straight, but the stiffness at her mouth revealed her inner tension.
Being surrounded and discussed wasn’t entirely new.
But this time, she truly felt pained.
She and Yaya left the banquet together, but Ethan did not intend to let it go.
"Miss Sullivan. My words may be harsh."
His face darkened, and his eyes filled with disdain as they lingered on Serena’s back.
"But you, an infertile piece of..."
