Chapter 269: Chapter 268: Deliberate Provocation

"Serena!"

Claire Sullivan looked at Serena Sullivan, unsure of what to say, she just called out softly.

When Serena turned around, Claire thought of something and her tone cooled down, "I have something to discuss with you, it’s regarding your grandfather’s will."

"You can wait at The Sullivan Residence."

Will?

Serena glanced over and saw Joel Quinn beside Claire looking at her too. His eyes held a hidden smile, so false even Ethan Grant glared coldly at him, prompting Joel Quinn to restrain himself.

Serena thought for a moment; she hadn’t planned to leave so soon anyway and nodded in agreement, "Alright!"

The Sullivan Family’s status in Solaria isn’t particularly high, but old Mr. Sullivan had taken in many elite disciples in the past. These pupils now control the major corporations in Solaria, so many guests attended the funeral.

Ethan Grant pushed Serena Sullivan out, through a door and down a path, where it was much calmer outside.

"I’ll push you to grandfather’s residence."

Ethan heard that Claire Sullivan wanted to discuss the will with Serena, so Serena wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon.

"No need."

Serena refused, placing her hands on the wheels, she wanted to move on her own.

"Don’t follow me."

She turned her head, speaking impatiently.

Except during the day at The Sullivan Corporation and sleeping at night, Ethan followed her everywhere.

Having him follow for so long made her irritated just looking at him.

Originally planning to follow, Ethan felt slightly hurt hearing Serena’s anger, hesitatingly saying "Oh" and reluctantly pulled back his foot.

He watched as Serena called Anna to come along, feeling both dejected and frustrated.

In her heart, he couldn’t even compare to Anna and Zoe, let alone Anna Morgan and Finn Chandler.

The Sullivan Residence, this is where Serena grew up.

Serena’s feelings for it were very deep, but in the end, because of Joel Quinn and his daughter, she was forced out of The Sullivan Residence. Her feelings for the place had soured.

Old Mr. Sullivan was a scholar, and the architecture of The Sullivan Residence had the flavor of a Sullivan-style garden, luckily Joel Quinn didn’t overhaul it into a mismatched mess upon taking over.

Serena had Anna push her around for a walk. They passed by the lake, the lake water lifeless in this weather, with only a few remaining fish swimming amidst the dead water lilies.

"Sister."

A familiar gentle voice reached her, as Serena was tossing biscuits into the lake to feed the fish.

Ethan feared she might be hungry, thus placed quite a bit of food beneath the wheelchair.

"Sister!"

Serena ignored it, while Zoe Quinn approached and called out again.

She wasn’t coincidentally running into Serena; hearing that Claire wanted Serena to stay at The Sullivan Residence and seeing Ethan separate from Serena, she seized the opportunity to slip out of the hall.

She walked forward, while Anna stood protectively by Serena’s side, eyeing Zoe Quinn with a watchful gaze.

If Zoe dared to come any closer, Anna would surely kick her into the lake without hesitation.

"Sister," Zoe called again, intimidated by the girl at Serena’s side, she moved to increase the distance between them.

Sunlight danced on the lake, adding some vitality to the still waters.

Zoe turned her head to see the small fish in the lake eating the biscuits Serena threw, chuckling lightly, "Useless, can’t even eat without being fed."

She was talking about the fish, but taunting Serena.

With no one else around, Zoe couldn’t maintain her facade.

She had long wanted to confront Serena and settle scores.
