Soon, a maind came to remind Zhang Liling about breakfast, and she hurriedly took her phone with her and went down the stairs.

Arriving at the dinning room, Mr. Fang was still no where to be found.

Glancing over at the table of dishes on the table plus the aroma that wafted into her nose, Zhang Liling felt tempted to sit and begin to eat, but then she thought of going to call her Fang Bingwen.

But just as she turned her body to the side, she heard a series of heavy but steady footsteps. Instantly, the corners of her lips curled in familiarity. She could guess who was coming close.

Choosing to take a sit next the head table where Mr. Fang normally sat just like the previous night, she did that with her gaze turned to the entrance.

Soon, Mr. Fang came into view.

The handsome mature man was putting on a black round-neck polo and a pair of ash-coloured pants. His gaze was straight as he came closer to the dining area. f𝚛e𝚎𝘄𝒆𝚋𝚗𝚘ѵ𝑒𝚕.𝑐𝘰𝑚

Glancing briefly at the little woman who was staring at him with an expectant smile, he shifted his gaze ahead and went through the other side. When he got to his seat, he pulled the chair aside before sitting and adjusting the seat.

Glancing at the food set before then, he asked as his brows furrowed in concern, "Is everything here to your liking?"

Without the need to take a look at the dishes assembled before her, she hurriedly nodded with a smile.

"Yes, I like everything here."

She could tell that he was worried about her palate because of the big French City she came back from.

"Then eat," he said while gesturing to the food before picking up some for himself.

"Thank you," Zhang Liling said with a smile as she picked some dishes and out them in her plate first.

The ambience in the dining room made it look like they were already a happy couple, which they truly were.

"Do you have something to wear for today?" Mr. Fang asked with his gaze fixed on her.

He was still yet to touch his food when he asked that question which seemed to be of importance to him.

Zhang Liling paused, as the spoon of food about to be sent into her open mouth, hung in the air.

She didn't reply immediately and slowly lowered the spoon back to the plate.

'He is asking about my outfit? Does he want to take me shopping?' Zhang Liling thought to herself as she giggled inwardly, but slowly, another thought came to her head and her earlier excitement quickly died down.

"Yes I do, I have lots of clothes." She replied while managing a smile.

She would have been more excited to go shopping with him and spend his money. But knowing that he would have a greater say with her choice of outfit, she hurriedly rejected him.

She knew how he was each time she out on a dress back then. He didn't like her style and always had this deep frown in his face like some people ruined his mood with their scent.

Thinking that it would be safer if she just picked out something from her wardrobe with him not having any say, she made her decision.

Without knowing that Mr. Fang had been observing the changes in her facial expression uptill now, she went back to eating.

Finally, he moved his gaze away and started to eat as well, with a thought in his head.

A few minutes later, Zhang Liling remembered something and immediately asked with her gaze on him.

"I want to get a birthday gift for your grandma. I can't go there empty handed. It will be rude of me."

There was a serious expression on her face as she said that.

Apart from impressing the old lady, she thought it to be improper to go to a celebration like that, plus given her identity, without a gift.

This was not just going to be her first time meeting the Fang Family, but this was the old Lady's birthday, hence she thought it wise to do the needful.

Fang Bingwen did not stop her or suggest that the gift he was taking along would be enough for them. He just let her do what she wanted.

At noon, Old Lady Fang called Mr. Fang on the phone to remind him about her birthday party.

Mr. Fang looked tired as he listened to her speak from the other end. When she was done, he finally got the chance to respond.

"Grandma, my memories are still sharp. I won't forget."

The old lady not being satisfied, added, "Make sure to come with your girlfriend on time. I would like to see this lady that got your attention."

Mr. Fang did not give any response and let her speak some more before cutting off the phone.

Sighing to himself, he put his phone away and glanced at his wristwatch to check the time.

Seeing that this was the perfect timing to go out to pick a few things, he shifted his gaze back to his laptop's screen.

Tapping a few buttons, he shut the system down before closing it and standing up to leave his study with his phone in hand.

Outside the study, he brought the phone to his line of sight.

He went straight to his call records and searched for Zhang Liling's contact before dialling it.

As soon as she answered, he passed an instruction to her.

"It's noon already, dress up, let's have lunch before going out to shop."

"To shop?" Zhang Liling questioned with a confused brow. "Didn't I say that I have an outfit already?" She asked, unable to guess what his intentions were.

She looked truly afraid he wanted to get her the outfit for their outing in the evening.

"Don't you want to get the gift anymore?" His calm voice resounded in her ears.

Immediately, an unsettled chuckled fell off her lips. She had almost forgotten that she had to get a gift for the old lady of his family.

Her mind has been on the outfit because she was currently looking through her closet, and trying to pick the best dress from the several options she had.

"I didn't forget. I will be downstairs in a few minutes. I need to take a shower." Zhang Liling said with her gaze eyeing a certain royal-blue dress on the hanger.

Actually she didn't need to have a bath although the weather was sunny, but she was trying to buy some time before she came out.

She was still yet to decide on the dress to wear for the party in a few hours.
