Chapter 109: Chapter 109: Three Years of Dating

Julian Fairchild’s voice was like a small hook, and his gaze became increasingly unfathomable.

Maeve Lane heard the words, lifted her eyelids, and focused on his eyes.

His eyes were very intimidating, with deep-set sockets beneath strong, straight brows, dense and long eyelashes, and black pupils that, when staring coldly at people, always made them feel fearful.

But this did not include Maeve Lane.

She was mesmerized, her body uncontrollably inching closer to Julian Fairchild.

Julian’s Adam’s apple moved up and down, his peripheral vision catching Maeve’s slightly parted red lips.

He knew better than anyone the feeling of kissing those lips.

A fair and slender hand gently caressed his eyes; Maeve seemed oblivious to how intimate this gesture was. She was immersed in that state of exploration, feeling she was about to experience deep and complex emotions, "...Then tell me, what does it feel like to like someone?"

Julian felt her soft fingers lightly sweep across his rugged face, stirring a ripple in his heart.

His throat tightened, "Liking someone means noticing her every move, feeling jealous, and tossing and turning because of her words."

Julian paused briefly, his gaze deep and pressing, "It means craving her flavor, wanting to possess her, from body to soul... all can only be opened for me alone."

His voice was both light and heavy.

So heavy it fell into Maeve Lane’s heart, causing her heartbeat to skip for a moment.

The intensity in Julian’s eyes almost burned her.

She seemed to almost understand...what it feels like to like someone.

"...Maeve, Fairchild, what are you doing?"

A thunderous shock exploded in Maeve’s ear.

She instantly snapped back to her senses, quickly getting off Julian as she turned her head to see the stunned Sarah Sutton and Miles Hughes sneaking glances at them through his fingers covering his face...

Sarah rubbed her eyes and opened them again, "Am I hallucinating?"

Or has she become obsessed with shipping couples?

Just now, didn’t she see Maeve Lane going to kiss Julian Fairchild?

Huh? Is she really someone that proactive?

After jumping down, Maeve felt a bit regretful; she had almost grasped that feeling. If they had come a bit later, perhaps she would have understood.

Julian’s face was hard to describe as pleasant, in fact, somewhat grim. Miles quickly glanced away!

Heaven knows, he tried to stop it!

But he couldn’t stop this woman named Sarah Sutton, maybe she learned some skills from the young mistress, her strength is unusually strong!

His arm got bruised from being grabbed...

Sarah rushed to Maeve’s side, glanced warily at Julian, pulled Maeve behind her, then smiled at the man sitting on the bench and said, "I suddenly remembered I have something to discuss with Maeve, so I won’t trouble Fairchild. Maeve, let’s go."

Before leaving, Maeve took a glance at the handsome man leisurely tidying his sleeves, her mind continually flashing Julian’s words.

Every word seemed to contain intense emotion, hitting deep into one’s heart.

During college, Julian had only dated her, this was beyond doubt.

And they broke up three years later...because...

A flicker of guilt quickly passed through Maeve Lane’s eyes.

Indeed, because of that incident, she had deeply hurt him.

His eyes were no longer warm, and when they met again, all that remained was coldness, even disgust.

Even though the atmosphere between them had somewhat eased over these days, she wasn’t presumptuous.

Perhaps he had moved on.

Perhaps... it was finally time to part ways, and both of them... found relief.
