Chapter 888: Chapter 884: To Provoke Him

"Mia Foster, what on earth happened? Just say it clearly!"

Facing Felix Shaw’s continued innocence act, Mia Foster was obviously out of patience, lifting her chin and glaring at Felix Shaw as she coldly asked, "Are you leaving or not?"

"I’m not leaving," Felix replied innocently, having rushed over in a whirlwind, only to be greeted by a shouting match upon meeting. He wasn’t leaving; there were still several days of his vacation left, and he wanted to spend more time with her.

"Fine, you’re not leaving, huh," Mia sneered and nodded, then turned and walked out of the bedroom, letting out a long sigh. Watching Mia walk out the door, Felix’s handsome brows furrowed tightly.

He knew perfectly well why Mia was throwing a fit for no apparent reason. Just as he was about to lie back down and rest for a while, Mia’s voice rang out from the living room. She was speaking on the phone in pure American English. Felix furrowed his brows and listened carefully. It turned out she was calling the police, saying there was a thief in her house attempting to steal and posing a threat to her personal safety...

Angrily, he strode out, but Mia had already hung up the call. With one arm across her chest and the other holding her phone, she stood in the living room, looking at Felix coldly and said, "If you leave now, there’s still time."

Felix could tell that Mia wasn’t joking. In this unfamiliar country, if Mia insisted he was a thief, it certainly wouldn’t end well. With a self-deprecating twist of his lips, Felix nodded bitterly, "Mia, you’ve got guts."

After saying that, he turned around, went back to the guest room, and packed all the clothes he had put in the wardrobe into his suitcase, zipped it up, and walked out of the room with big strides.

Felix’s face was grim, and he didn’t even glance at Mia when he passed through the living room.

After hearing the door close downstairs, Mia tossed her phone into the sofa and sat down heavily, one arm across her chest, turning her face aside and biting her thumb. Despite her best efforts to hold back, tears quickly welled up in her eyes.

Walking out of the small villa, Felix didn’t hail a cab but dragged his suitcase alone down the street. The temperature in D Continent was warm, but his heart still lingered in the cold weather of T City, as did the expression on his handsome face, as if covered by frost.

Finding a hotel in the city center and settling in, Felix lay on the bed, still unable to figure out why Mia was so angry.

After a long time sighing, Felix got up. Despite being exhausted, he had no urge to sleep. He took a bottle of red wine from the shelf, uncorked it, and stood with a glass at the window, gazing at the night outside.

The next day, Felix went to Mia’s company again. As he said, even if sentenced to death, he deserved an explanation. From a distance, he saw Mia coming from the parking spot, just as he was about to approach. She pulled out her phone and made a call. Shortly after, two security guard-looking men escorted him out.

During all this, Mia didn’t even glance at him, entering the elevator with a cold face, appearing indifferent.

During the day, Felix returned to the company, but before he could step on the stairs, the two guards at the entrance drove him away, explicitly forbidding him from approaching the company’s door.

Felix knew it was surely Mia’s instruction. He called Mia several times, but no one answered. In the evening after work, Felix went to the parking lot to wait. But when he saw Mia get into another man’s car, his heart felt like it was being wrenched.

He didn’t believe Mia would fall for someone else. The reason she did this was merely to provoke him...
