Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 848 - 844: Don’t Want to Burn Bridges
A sudden scream, Mia Foster hurriedly held the head reaching toward her chest, her voice breaking, "Felix Shaw! What are you doing!"
The latter raised his head and looked at Mia Foster with a mischievous smile, "Hungry, just looking for something to fill my stomach."
Mia Foster...
Alone with Felix Shaw in one room, she was really worried about what he might do to her. After all, this wasn’t like being back home, the houses were spaced apart, and even if she screamed her lungs out, no one would hear.
With a not-so-friendly attitude, she pushed Felix Shaw’s head away, with a cold face said, "I’m going to cook now, leave as soon as you’ve finished eating."
Watching Mia Foster’s departing figure, which was almost like an escape, Felix Shaw curved his lips in satisfaction, then returned to the sofa, picked up a magazine at random, and started flipping through it, waiting for Mia Foster to make him a meal.
In less than half an hour, Mia Foster returned, stood at the door and knocked on the open door with a not-so-good attitude, "Dinner’s ready!"
"Hey!" Felix Shaw put down the magazine, got up and followed her out. In front of the not-too-big dining table, a simple plate of pasta was being savored with great enjoyment by Felix Shaw, while Mia Foster absentmindedly poked the noodles on her plate with a fork, frowning at the man burying his head in the meal, and secretly gesturing with her fork.
After finishing the plate of pasta, Felix Shaw pulled out a napkin to wipe the corner of his lips and looked at Mia Foster with satisfaction, "It was delicious."
"As if I need you to say that!" Mia Foster lowered her head and stabbed at the pasta with a fork, mumbling impatiently, then suddenly remembered something and looked up abruptly, "You’ve eaten, you can leave now."
"No rush," Felix Shaw placed the napkin back, leaned lazily against the chair.
Mia Foster...
Looking at the man across with a playful smile, she suddenly threw the fork on the table, angrily accusing, "Felix Shaw, why are you being such a scoundrel!" 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"How am I a scoundrel? We haven’t officially handled the divorce, so it’s perfectly reasonable for me to stay at my wife’s place."
Mia Foster wearily held her forehead. If she had known he would backtrack, she would have kicked him out earlier.
Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath, and when she opened them again, her expression was cool and detached, "We are still married; I don’t want to make things too ugly. Do I really have to call the police to have them take you away to the station?"
Felix Shaw spread his hands indifferently, "If you want to, I won’t object."
Mia Foster held her forehead again in exasperation. This man was truly giving her a headache. Yes, she couldn’t be that ruthless, and Felix Shaw knew this very well, that’s why he dared to challenge her.
Sighing again, Mia Foster said, "Go back, don’t wear out the last bit of good impression I have of you."
"When are you going back home?" Felix Shaw also put away his playful demeanor, looked at Mia Foster seriously and asked.
With hands flat on the table, Mia Foster’s expression was equally earnest, "Felix Shaw, you should understand, since I was transferred abroad, I won’t be going back anytime soon."
"Is divorce inevitable?" Felix Shaw crossed his hands in front of him, leaning back on the chair with a hard-to-describe expression, looking somewhat lost and melancholic, a stark contrast to his former self.
Mia Foster lowered her eyes, looking at her clasped hands, then spoke in a voice so low it was almost a murmur.
"Yes, I don’t want to be entangled anymore; I’ve lost all hope..."
"Mia Foster, if the child Elizabeth White lost wasn’t mine, would you forgive me?"
A shock hit her chest, Mia Foster abruptly raised her head, meeting Felix Shaw’s earnest and focused eyes.
